I was sleeved April 5th by Dr. Almaza at Jerusalem Clinic. I bought my daughter with me, my Coordinator was Nina and she owns and shares her own spacious and beautiful 5 bedroom home with her patients. Her nurse/housekeeper will take you shopping whenever you want. Jerusalem sends their van to her home to take you for your x-ray, port removal, and transportation to the San Diego airport. I had a wonderful experience and would do it again. I'll leave a link for Nina's website for anybody who has any questions about any of the surgeries that interest them. If anyone has any questions for me feel free to ask, I'll answer as best I can. http://www.bariatricinmexico.com/index.php

CONGRATULATIONS! Surgery & Vacation... You'll be on a liquid diet, maybe some smoothies, yogurt, clear Soups, and lots and lots of Water. Try not to strain yourself, relax but sight see, take a walk in the evening when it's not so hot or sunny out, and enjoy your vacation!

It really shows. You look great!

Dr. Mario Almanza, TJ, Mexico Jerusalem Clinic. Wonderful experience. Went out a day early to enjoy San Diego first. No problems. No pain. No leaks. Leave extra early to get back into the states to make your flight on time, the boarder crossing line is very long and time consuming, 3-4 hours at least. maybe cosmetic next

My Nexium is 40mg. Like Wendal said, look for the generic version of prevacid or something and check the milligrams, you might have to take two.

Hello all, I'm 14 day out from surgery and I'm feeling better. But as I'm home waiting to be healed I keep seeing that PaPa john pizza commercial. I'm not a big fan of pizza hut or Dominos or papa Johns but that commercial is killing me. So how long till anyones had a slice? I know I won't eat a whole slice but how long till you can have it at all?
You have at least another 4 - 6 weeks before pizza..

Hi, I was sleeved on April 4th by Dr. Almaza in TJ Mexico, and feeling great. Had a stall that lasted almost 3 weeks but thankfully, I'm on the downward spiral again. Best thing I ever did, wish I'd done it sooner and when I was younger!

ouch. Good luck in your recovery and hopefully you'll be sleeved real soon. Keep up the positive attitude.

I too was starving that soon after surgery. I bought a package of the premade mashed potatoes and kept them in the fridge. I would add a teaspoon full to some chicken broth or Tomato Soup. It was still very thin, but more filling. Best of luck to you.

Wait and see how you feel tomorrow. It could of been a 24 hr bug. Good Luck and I hope all goes well for you tomorrow> fingers crossed xx xx

I forgot to mention that you should suck on the tums like a pice of hard candy and not chew them. You should only need one or two at the most to get rid of the heartburn.
As far as you mixing up your speach and having tingly hands - I think you really need to talk to your doctor about that. Thats not normal. Good Luck.
-
Have you tried tums for instant relief of the burning?
-
Amen Brother. I am ready to experience that feeling.
Kemo you should be heading back home today. How did everything go? Please let us know.

I just came off a stall myself. I has wls on April 4th 2011 in Mexico. I healed very well and very fast. I have been on solid foods for over 2 weeks now. Progressing from mushies to solids, The dreaded stall started. I'm guessing my body couldn't take the confusion and stopped working completely and started hoarding what fat I have. lol.. Anyway, after almost 3 weeks, I stepped on the scale this morning and lost 2 lbs. Not a major loss, but after the stall I was excited to see my scale wasn't broken after all! Stick with it and Good luck!

I read your post about going back on liquids to "kick start" the diet again. You shouldn't do that. I had a stall in my weight loss and I had that same thought of just going back to liquids but I discussed it with my doctor first and he told me absolutely NO! He said that when you are past the whole shake stage and get into solid foods you need them. Eating food will make you lose more weight then the shakes. It's hard to believe but it's true. The thing is eating the correct foods like turkey, fish, sirloin all 90 % fat free and steamed veggies, yogurts, cottage cheese. I went to see my surgeon yesterday and he was fussing at me because I still do the shakes time to time and Soups. He told me I needed to get off the liquids and eat food. If you want to make a change do it with your activity level, but stick with your solid foods. It sounds like you're making the right choices measuring now. Good luck!
Thank you for your input. I was beginning to think I was doing something wrong.

I've been at a stall for over 2 weeks now!!! WTH!!! How do I get out of this? I'm 8 weeks out and on solid foods, but I still can't eat nearly as much as before surgery, only about 1/4 so why the stall?? Anybody else had this happen? How discouraging..
