  1. I had the lapband done 2 years ago and lost an amazing 90lbs but had to have it removed because of pain and other problems, I know i didnt treat my band right and I even then it was so good to me. Has anyone had the band done wice and what were your reasons? I have gained 45 lbs back and as much as i keep trying i just keep gaining. I have also considered the gastric sleeve but dont know much about it.

  2. I want to give the lapband a 2nd try i previously had to have it removed because of problems but i know i didnt treat my band right. This time around I would self pay. Can anyone tell me about the cost of the after care like fills/adjustments? Anything you know or have experienced related to the financial part of after having the lapband placed will help. Thanks

  3. Hi everyone, I am being debanded today for several reasons and problems. I need some emotional support...really bad! I am very nervous and scarred of going through surgery again. It's not the actual surgery or cutting or any of that, that scares me it's the anesthesia I am terrified to be unconsious! I have anxiety disorder and before I have taken sleeping pills and if I was too anxious I could feel myself trying to wake up from my sleep but unable to at the same time because the sleeping pill kept me asleep (horrible feeling). I am afraid if I mention my anxiety to the doctors they will think more anesthesia is needed and then I will be even more anxious thinking they might give me too much! ARGHHH I hate feeling this way right before surgery. Please any advice comfort:cry anything will help. If you have been debanded please tell me how it is.

  4. GO FOR IT!!! I was in pain for maybe a few minutes right after I got out of the surgery room, the other pain was mild, I was only in the hospital one night and in one week I was back to work. I am so happy I did this! I don't regret it at all. Not one complication yet....and I follow all directions given by the doctor so it can stay that way. Also, don't think that you will never get to eat the foods you like, you will it will just be in smaller amounts and not so often. I am so happy with my decision I love the outcome. GO FOR IT!!

  5. I also had to wait 6 months for my approval. I am glad I had that time, use it to start eating healthy, getting into an excersise routine, writing down your goals and expectations and getting your mind set for this big change. It will go by so fast, I promise. It feels like just yesterday but I had my surgery almost 4 months ago and have lost 45 lbs, I also had had hypothyroidism for several years. I was however approved in one day which I hear is not common, the approval usually takes a while. I would suggest following all your appointments and instructions for faster approval. Good luck!!

  6. I was a member of Curves. I don't recommend it for a long period of time. The routine is the same everyday and it costs more than a gym. You can join an aerobic class at a gym, I think you can benefit more from that. You also have the flexible hours and variety.

  7. I was banded on October 2nd, 2006. I have no problem with drinking alcohol. You should probably stick to wine or cranberry juice and vodka. That's what I do. I limit the beer to maybe 1 or 2. I don't do too well with that. But I wouldn't recommend anything with coke or too sweet. Good Luck!

  8. I have a low thyroid, I am only 22 but have been heavy most of my life. I only found out I had this about 3 years ago. It has been under control ever since. I was banded on october 2nd and have lost 42 lbs so far. It has been under control ever since. The test used to diagnose this is not expensive. The medication is also unexpensive. If you don't get medication for this no matter how much you try you will not loose weight and anything you eat can make you gain weight. Instead of spending money on these Cookies which can probably compare to stuff you have tried already why dont you visit the doctor? You sound determined and disciplined. I think with medication and your determination and the band!! you will see great results. Wish you the best!
