    I am really afraid!

I am having surgery the day before you. I know how you feel. Let me know how things go..I know we will be fine.
  6. Just found out today that my surgery date is April 21st. I am excited and sooo nervous. I would like to be friends with anyone here and give each other encouragement and support. Everyone on these boards seems so friendly and helpful. I have no extended family nearby and have decided not to tell the ones living far away. No one in my family has as big of a weight problem as me..and they probably would say I can do it on my own. Also, my Mum would worry herself silly about it. I may tell them in a few months when I go home. I wish all of you who have had or are having surgery in April all the best .
  7. I will probably have my surgery late April. I have been trying to research here which protein powders taste the best and have highest protein, least sugar and carbs ect. I would greatly appreciate input here so I can see it all in one place:)
  8. I have just been approved to have lap band surgery and was looking online for forums..I found one by mostly gastric bypass patients and they all said they would never have the lap band and a couple of people described having serious complications and having the band removed. One of the things that alarmed me the most, were stories of scar tissue growing over the band and major pain as a result and having to have a surgeon locate the band and remove it. Please tell me if this is a fairly common thing. Makes me really worried. I thought I would opt for lap band as the least invasive procedure and less complicated. I do realize all surgery has risks..but the amount of people on that board saying that bypass is better for long term weight loss and less complications has me second guessing.
