DISGUSTED!! Waste of time!
brbm6 replied to nipper75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use myfitness pal. It is the only way I can be accoutable. I credit it for my weight loss because I have very little restriction. -
Addicted to coffee drinks....HELP with lower-cal alternatives, please!
brbm6 replied to tammydawn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have a skinny hazelnut latte from SB with a scoop of protein powder (they have protein powder at SB). My band is tight in the mornings and that way I get my protein. I too hate black coffee! -
Oh my gosh! I tried to get the Lap-band surgeon to not take my picture either. They told me I would be grateful later.
-
I was so bad before surgery that I refused to be in my brother's wedding pictures. So sad! I am looking forward to the day I feel good about pictures.

Night time eating is what made me gain weight. I try not to eat after dinner at all. Maybe coffee (decaf) if I feel I must have something.

Road Trip!! what am I going to eat??
brbm6 replied to imagine923's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Taco bell has a fresco taco with fresh salsa that is minus cheese. Really yummy and under 200 calories. -
What about hardboiled eggs? They have lots of protein and would fill you up! That is my standard "go-to" food. You can always eat just the whites if you want to save on the fat.

Isn't it wonderful? Congratulations!
-
Nope, I do not feel it at all. I can feel my port but that is it! Congrats on your surgery.

How has your health improved due to the surgery
brbm6 replied to Horus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am off blood pressure meds and no longer borderline diabetic. Plus, my energy level is through the roof! I can't imagine how I will feel after 75+ more pounds are lost! -
Just got banded June 22, need some advice
brbm6 replied to feistybeagle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
fiber gummies (can get them at Walgreens or CVS) and miralax...and at least 100 oz. of water a day. -
Did your shoe size change with weight loss?
brbm6 replied to project lisa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Shoe size was one of the first things I noticed. I went from a 10W, some 11's to 9.5 or 10 regular width. -
Love it...congrats on finding your feet again!

VERY well said!

brbm6 replied to lea3277's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My moms excuse is...well, you blog about it so it is out there anyway. GRRRR.....I didn't send my family links for a reason! -
I wish I had kept my lapband a secret.....
brbm6 replied to lea3277's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today was a day I wish I had kept my band a secret. My mom has basically told everyone in my family (even members I haven't spoken with or seen in 20 yrs.). I know she is doing this because she is excited and proud of me but.....this is my journey. I want to tell people in my own time....oh well! -
If you use myfitnesspal.com it will actually calculate your BMR and adjust your calories per day (including excersise) if you want to loose 1lb. or 2lbs. per week. I know there are other free sites as well.

How much do you worry about the complications?
brbm6 replied to spoiltmom's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
There is a risk for Lap-Band too...but, you took the risks and have become a success! Do it for you! You will be a happier wife and mom. -
Married ladies, did your dh go to your PS consult with you?
brbm6 replied to spoiltmom's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'd take mine! But, he would have seen my thighs too! I am not shy about showing things I want fixed! You are the one that has to be comfortable during your consult. If it would make you nervous or not truthful with the surgeon then I say do not take him. You can always fill him in on how the consult went. Likewise, if you think it would help you articulate what you want to say....then take him! Good luck. I can't wait to be at the TT stage. Congratulations on your weight loss! -
Claudia, you should not be embarrassed. We all suffer from this "over-eating" disease. You are among friends.

The day of my surgery I had an anxiety attack. My surgeon said he would be worried about me if I had no concerns. It has been the best decision I have made for myself in a long time. That being said, you have to do what is right for you.
-
I'm with stateofZen, whatever will work for you. We are all different and the band works differently for everyone. I can understand wanting the exact calorie counts. Good luck! Let us know how it works.

You are being banded for YOUR health. That is the only thing you need to worry about right now. Focus on yourself. She will probably follow your example when she sees you being successful. I have a family member that was dead against weight loss surgery. Now she has been checking on Lap-Band because she sees how successful I have been.

Fustrated with lack of weight loss
brbm6 replied to jen_ngah's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jen, that happened to me. The ONLY thing that helped (and I do track every bite and work out every day) was to up my water intake. I drink at least 100 oz. a day (and that is minimum). For some reason it helps my metobolism. Hang in there. -
Looking for newbie blogs...
brbm6 replied to jensjourney's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was banded in April and my signature has a link to my blog. Welcome to the (almost) banded world!
