So, last Monday I went in for my 6th fill and was told that my band was only holding 3cc and the Doctor thought I might have a leak and had been watching it for the last couple of months?!?!?!?!, I was devistated. up until then I had believed everything was peachy and I just needed to keep getting my fills that eventually I would reach my green zone, they set me up for a "portagram" this morning and yes, it was confirmed that I have a leak in the port assembly, and I am scheuduled to have port replacement surgery this Wed. I have spent the last week searching this forum for any and all related experences, I have been praying please please pleaszzzzzzz dont let me have a leak...........but, I find myself not being upset at all, one of our fellow bandsters whos encourging word got me threw this last week, " I chose a lapband because if there was any problems it could be fixed" Yes it can be fixed and My new reformed hope thinks maybe this can work for me and maybe one day, I can be one of those people posting "I AM IN ONEDERLAND" sooooo to all you posters out there THANK YOU! you never know who you help!

Thank you very much SLIMANDSEXY, I hope everthing goes will with you too! its crazy when I think about all the time I read about lapband complications, I would see leaks and remember thinking what are the chances??? lol I also have thought the same about the publishers clearing house.......sooooo maybe

Jennifer, Thank you for your post! the way my doc does fills, 1/2 cc at a time,(hopefully) looks like 7 months and 548.00 later I might be seeing some results, I sure can see why people give up, huh? neways, thank you for your post, I think I am starting to get that fear that I am going to be one of those people they say "a band just doesnt work for". Going to stick this thing out.... its become a personal Quest for myself seems that everyone else has given up on seeing any results, but knowing it took you 7cc to get to a happy place makes it seem possible for me.

Hello, April bandsters (jellytots & slm2007) ,,,,,,,,same thing here, after my 4th fill, I thought I was doing good found my "green zone" but about 4 days later it went away, so made quick appt to get 5th fill (5cc in a 10 cc band) but today, 4 days later, I can tell Im going to have to go back again. but with all the time I have taken off work and the 35.00 for a co-pay each time I go in (except my 1st fill was under flouro 268.00 out of pocket) its going to have to wait....thought maybe I need to stop coming to this fourm for awile, as much as Im happy for all those doing good its a great reminder how bad its going for me, I keep telling myself at least Im not gaining but it has been 4 months now and I have lost 6 -7 lb (not counting the 20 from pre-op diet) dunno .....think Im just tired maybe tomorrow will be better. GOODLUCK LADIES! I'll keep an eye open for your future post.

lol I can realate, I work in a doctors office and we have a Pa that is filling in for a few months, and she pulled me over to the side and started telling me about some kind of herb that I need to try that she felt It really could help me.....after she did her whole spill, come to find out it was for weight loss ....(didnt bother to tell her I had a band) , guess I should be happy it wasnt for wrinkles lol newho people are people, I suppose they are just trying to help......

My first fill was done under flouro, basicly to see if something was there lol, after I received the bill, 2nd 3rd and 4th fills have all been done in his office, and he numbs the site, on top of that I have some lidoderm patches that I stick on 1 hour before, so I feel absoultly nothing, and for the times that he has to dig around.....dig away lol

Was a little bit of a surprise to me also, they just kind of threw that in when I went to a pre-op meeting handed us something I thought was a door prize and it was instructions and a little red bio container...wth????? of course my insurance was only going to pay a small portion which was going to make my out of pocket 170.00 but I filled out an assistance program application with the drug company and it helped ALOT! as far as giving the shots ....hummmm I am a phlebotomist and stick people alllllllllllllllllllllllllll day long but.....its not the same lol

Oh Dear Lord! I have bc/bs of tenn, and they required a full blown pyysic eval. ...it had questions like .....do i hear voices , think i am being watched lol,,,,,,,,,,,the whole process took 3 hours. basicly the guy said that they just want to try to screen for people that they feel might fail with the process, (even tho he stated that there is no sure way to do that) using the band to become anorexic, or that might use food for emoitional support, and basicly making sure people understand the concept of the band without unrealistic expectation. Hang in there! I had my 4th fill Monday and I am just now at my green zone, what a difference 1/2 cc makes!

I to thought out of surgery that i would feel something, I felt NOTHING started to wonder if anything had been done, so I thought , if i can just make it to my first fill it would be a done deal, since I was getting it done by flouro they could fill it to the brim be very precise and I would see them next year........WRONG! wrong wrong,,,,,thank God for this forum, I had my surgery April 13, and have had 3 fills I go monday for my 4th ( I believe that should do it) , but between my surgery date and my 3rd fill...I had lost less then 5 pounds disappointing for sure! I think anyone not knowing how this works would say at least by the 3 rd fill that it wasnt working and totally give up, like i said before I am very greatfull for this site, I do understand that logicly its going to work if you just keep getting your fills and i do understand that probley with every 20lb i lose I will need to get another adjustment, but after my 3rd fill as of yeaterday I lost 14 pounds and that 14 ponds has motivated me like no other! for the first time I am saying IT WORKED! IT'S GOING TO WORK! So hang in there and keep getting your adjustments. it is a slow process but time goes by so fast! Im still thinking to myself wow i cant believe I have gotten my band and its been over 3 months ago.........WOW!

Hello Congrats on your upcoming surgery, how exciting! I had mine done by robitic April 13 th, 8:00 am, I was up and about same day 4 hours later, and went home 6 hours after surgery, was sore first waking up, ride home was a little sensative and for the following 3 days, after that I was good to go, they made 4 tiny incisions, one in my belly button i never could see, And a 5th which is the only one visable today, where my port is and its not even that bad, my port is on my right about 2" away from my belly button, (seems like that location is differnt then most). it is very strange how the Dr isnt even setting by you but they say its better, My experence was good. hope that has helped.

your result sound picture perfect! Do you ever cheat? lol sure would like to hear a typical day for you...do you work full time,? do you have a physical job? are you still doing Protein shakes? do you diet? How many fills have you had? CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! Your results are amazing! please do share more, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

That is awsome!! I so agree, so many people used the "weight watchers" line and I kept spending my money thinking if they could do it so could I, just to fail fail and fail again my family and friends really didnt understand ....if they could do it why couldnt I........serously to this day I feel like they where sneaky and lied, I to would have had this done along time ago if I had only known! KUDOS TO YOU SISTERSUE!

thank you for posting! my 3rd fill is monday, each fill i keep getting my hopes up, and its really getting hard for me to ask for coverage to have another monday afternoon or evening off (only day doc does fills) keeping my fingers crossed!!

hello smokers, was wondering if there where any out there......lol, i am completely convinced it is the loritab, i have to take it every so often for kidney stones and when i do the first thing i think of is who has a smoke, had to quit for the surgery actualy stopped approx 6 months before, and after surgery and liquid loritab, somewhere in my head i was thinking one would'nt hurt me, plus i sooooooo deserved it.... not like it has any calories in it............hummmmm so now here i am 2 months later getting my chantex refilled. GOOD LUCK TO ALL! I know it can be hard but i truely think the loritab makes it harder.

Thank You for posting, that is me also "bandster hell" Surgery was april 13th i feel like all my friends family and co workers watch me like a hawk and just keep waiting for something to happen.i have been feeling like such a failure, i had a fill done by flouro two weeks ago thinking that would make all the difference but honesty i feel less constricted, i have appt monday to get anouther fill done in office, then i have anouther appt two weeks later, keeping my fingers crossed. i have been eating only baked meat small veg no soda and excercising and i weight exactly the same as the day i went in for surgery. i did loose 20lb on the pre-op stuff. good thing is.. that havnt gained. soooo knowing im not alone has helped ALOT! ill watch your post for updates. stay strong my friend and i will do the same. NOT GIVING UP!

So is Everyone doing their weight loss calculations from the date the band was placed, or from the date all this begun. (pre surgery, liquid diet ect)? Thank You for your input

The surgery went well 5 incisions total, 3 tiny scars can barely see now, one had a knot but yesterday it went away, one very small scar where my port is and one in my belly button, that you can not see. dont really know if it was better but was a very good experence had surgery at 9 went home same day at 3.

Hello all you Beautiful Bansters! My surgery is tomorrow, and they are doing it with the Robotics system, has anyone had theirs done by robotics? i have found videos of other surgeries but not for the lap band. just wondering if it is a good as they say and if there still will be 5 to 6 incisions? Thank you

Same here, 3 weeks out....the day I went in for surgery I weighted 219 that was -20 pounds from the first day I walked into his office, had my 2 week follow up and weighted 219 I was actually in shocked becuase after surgery I was barely getting my Protein shakes in and though I would have lost somthing and then friday I had gained 5 pounds????....today I weighted and I am now back to the original 219. the same thing I weighed the day of my surgery so actually I have not lost a pound AFTER being banded, so, yes this all is freaking me out, and I too wonder if this is just going to be anouther failed attempt. Im schueduled for my first fill May 23, and practally had to beg for that. Thank you for posting, reading all the responses does give me hope.

hello, just from my side of the fence, a few years ago I had a couple of friends that were loosing weight like crazy, looked awsome! told me they where doing weight watchers i was so impressed that i again tried ww for the 3rd time of course doing good the first few weeks then gaining it all back again just to feel like a failure AGAIN! but they where doing so good, sooooooo more money and time invested to fail again. i finally made the decission to get banded (april 13th) and keep no secret about it, then i find out that my friends never went one day to weight watchers, they both have had WLS, and come to find out many of my friends have also, you cant imagine how many times i have heard " ohhh yeah! so and so had had the band too! " but to my friends that liedto me, im still pissed at.. was so unfair to convience me that something that worked so great was bs and to not only make me feel like a failure but to my friends and family who where looking at me like wow they could do it whats your problem? not keeping this a secret (not good at it anyway) i have found everyone to be a great support!

Hello, Questions that I wanted to ask but didnt want to sound stupid. #1 Why lap band instead of your other options?..... #2 if you could go back and do something different then a lap band would you?....#3 What do your scars look like?.......#4 How does your port feel and can you see it?.......#5 Does getting fills hurt?.........
