I know this is a random question. But i was wondering if anyone else gets like bumps (almost like the size of bug bites) on your inner thighs. When it goes down it leaves a dark scar. Ive noticed since ive gained so much weight, my inner thighs and arm pits are a bit darker. Has anyone experienced this????

Hi all, My surgery is on the 23rd. And i just started my 3 week pre-op diet. So far, im doing ok. And havent really had any "hunger" yet. But the Bariatric Advantage shakes aren't very appealing. Anyone have any ideas that i can safely add to the shakes??? THANK YOU

Can you tell me what you are having for a small meal? I am going crazy on this diet. And i wonder if i do the same thing, 2 shakes and one small meal.....i duno just a thought. But would love to know what your small meat consists of Thanks!

im hoping you can give me some advice, or your thoughts....i am scheduled to have gastric sleeve on the 23rd. Did all my tests. Had a pulmonary test yesterday and the dr said i expel only about 56% of the air in my lungs. but my o2 sat was at 98%. But he is having me do a PFT on the 15th ( the soonest appt available ) and i am just soo scared that they might cancel my surgery. I have shortness of breath when i walk upstairs, sleep apnea, hypertension, and gallstones. I am 116lbs over weight and have been overweight forever. I have an 8 year old autistic son that needs me and i want to be healthy for him. HELP! im soooo worried! He said to get in the soonest so it won't affect my surgery.He thinks that it is just caused by my weight which is primarily all in my gut. Anyone go through this?? And still had the surgery?

Good for you! Yes i lived off of Dr. Pepper for years! And luckily i was able to give it up cold turkey few months ago. Good luck on the diet. its not very easy but im sure it will be all worth it

Keep me posted it sucks that each doctor is different in regards to the pre-op diet. I wish i could have at lease one reasonable lean meal for dinner. Im here at work, chomping on cucumbers and im already feeling deprived. YET i know i have to do this i am doing my best but it does suck! GOod luck to you!!

i'd rather do your diet i have Bariatric Advantage and don't have ANY meat whatso ever just shakes , bars and a salad with 0 calorie dressing. i could go for some tuna right now

wow good for you! this has been super hard for me. I actually messed up on the first day BUT today is a new day and we can do this!!

SURE!!!! I don't have the pre-op diet with me ( im at work ) but i can scan it tomorrow and email it to you if that would help!! I think it would be great to go through this with someone. it is soooo hard on your own

What symptoms did you have because of your COPD? were you easily short of breath? What did the pulmonoligst tell you?

I had my pre-op appt today and all looks good. I got my bariatric advantage shakes and bars today and im actually looking forward to starting SOunds crazy i know. Ill probably regret saying that pretty soon! Any advice as my last days are counting down?? IM SOOOOOOOOOOO THANKFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And sooo excited to "live " again!!

what happens if the pulmonologist doesnt clear you? Can they cancel your surgery????? I know all these problems with improve with the WLS, but can they cancel it due to the problems?

First of all, you can't let anyone force you to do a surgery you don't want or don't feel safe with. Is your insurance covering it? If so, can't you just switch surgeons ? I was in the same situation and was approved for the lap band. But changed my mind about the surgeon ( really good decision i made) and that i wanted the sleeve instead. I went through the process again for approval. But i though you can just change surgeons once you get the approval. Hope that helps. That really sucks and i would definately turn around and run the other way!
