    Not Losing Weight

Agree! Switching it up keeps me motivated - running, mountain biking, boot camp and TRX keep me on my toes. Also finding an activity that you love to do and can make friends doing...mountain biking has opened up a whole new world of friends/mentors. We are always going out for some adventure! Good luck - PS - I keep motivated knowing how good I feel after I workout! vanessa

    How much recovery time?

I would plan on not doing much for at least a week. And no heavy lifting for 2-3weeks. Your body will tell you when to quit. I was really out of it and on the couch for 3 days after surgery. Back up and walking and back to work after 5 days. Exercising after 2 weeks. Good luck!

  15. YAY! Please email me @ vsaun@msn.com - I'll send you links to recipes. Peta.org has a great selection of easy recipes too - I always make the slow cooker lasagna and my dinner guests never know its vegan! Also a great cook book to start with is the 30 minute vegan! I am trying to stay away from overdoing it with soy - so am switching to almond milk and more Beans and grains along with the veggies...

Yay!!! That ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You must feel awesome!
  17. Thats crazy! I am a vegan and have had no problems with protein - I get around 50-60g a day. My shake in the morning has about 22gs and then the rest of the day I'm eating beans/tofu/kale/ spinach/tempeh/quinoa and have been fine. There is protein in all types of veggies too. The shake that I make every morning is: 4oz soy milk, 4 oz organic apple juice, 1 scoop vanilla spirutein (soy based not whey), 1 scoop green vibrance, and a half cup of frozen blue berries. I have tons of recipes too if you are interested. good luck!
  18. I love my band! I have been banded for 8 weeks and only wish I had it done sooner! I have had no complications and am able to eat anything I want (I don't eat meat - I'm vegan) but now I fill up much quicker and stay full longer. Exercise /drinking Water is the KEY! I workout 6 days a week - mountain biking/running and boot camp. There are a lot of us that love our bands and are doing great. Congrats on getting your band! Vanessa

Do you prefer biking, or walking/hiking?

Mountain Biking! I ride at least 5 days a week generally 14 miles a day(about 2 hrs) but also do a longer day about 20 miles. I love it. I also starting running this week - up to 2 miles now and I do a boot camp class 1x a week too. I hate road riding and the cars scare the crap out of me, but I love flying down rocky trails and launching off of moguls!
