  1. How exciting!! It doesn't take long for it to really stick out either after you first notice it! CONGRATS!! Kelly :D
  2. i am a little over 4 months out and there is NO WAY i could eat 350 calories at one time!! i try to eat 800-1000 calories a day and have to in order to lose weight. when i get less than that, i stall. I have to eat 5-6 small meals a day. i call it snacking. I am not supposed to do this, but i have to in order to get my calories in. it works for me and it is what i have to do. i follow the protein first rule and can only eat 2oz at a time. when i can only eat such a small amount of meat, that doesn't add up to many calories. i am not going to eat crap just to fill the void. sometimes, if i am low on calories for the day, i will have nuts to up my calories, but mostly i just eat 5-6 times a day. Kelly
  3. they don't care. they see it all the time. they do say no tampon's tho. they will give you throw away granny panties and HUGE pads to wear!! LOL thankfully, i stopped 2 days b4 my surgery!! Kelly
  4. YUCKY NOODLES!!! Glad that you found out what was wrong and now can heal! Feel better and yes, keep us posted on your recovery! Kelly
  5. Congrats!! Keep us posted on your progress!! Kelly
  6. I have heard that is the first thing that makes you gain is drinking with meals. If you drink, you are able to eat more and therefore you should not do it. NOBODY was a bigger drinker with their meals than I was!!! I could easily drink 3-4 glasses of tea with each meal. I started practicing about 2 months before surgery and when I had my surgery, I was prepared. I missed it at first. Now, I am 4 months out and NEVER think about drinking when eating. I still only eat about 2 oz of food at a time so maybe that is why, but the only time I think about it is afterwards to see what time I can drink. I think it just becomes a habit and we have to break it. If drinking with meals is the number one reason for weight gain with the sleeve, I WILL NEVER drink and eat together again!!! Kelly
  7. Wow!! That is intense. I would do a liquid diet anyway just to be sure I had a good cushion. Maybe the last 2 days before your surgery do slim fast or something! Good luck! kelly
  8. I eat wendy's chili all of the time. i think as long as you drink your water to flush all that salt out you will be fine! Kelly
  9. Yay Foxbins!! How exciting. I have 11lbs and I will join you! Congrats, Congrats!! Kelly
  10. WOW!! Hats off to you. You look great. Congrats! Kelly
  11. I exercised A LOT pre-op, so after my surgery I was ready to go! The first week I only walked my neighborhood because I was so sore and tired. After that first week, I was doing my 1 1/2 -2 miles again. I worked up to my 5 mile walks/jogs I do now at 4 months out. Do what you can, but don't over exert yourself. Work up to getting more in as you feel comfortable with doing more. Everyone is different and advances differently! Kelly
  12. I believe in fate too and there is a reason why you did not have your surgery today. You will know in time why it didn't happen, but stay positive and you will have it before you know it! Kelly
  13. Thanks Lynda! That is what I was told it was called back in my visit a few months ago, but I couldn't remember the name of it. I feel better knowing that I am o.k. and that hopefully it will go away soon! That is scary stuff!! Kelly
  14. So, I just heard from my dr. about this and this is what he said: Usually this light headedness/faintness improves over time as your body adjusts to your new weights. I suggest making certain you change position and posture slowly, especially early in the day. I would also break up your exercise routine into shorter times for now and concentrate on staying hydrated. I don't think your blood count is necessarily causing or contributing to this. So, I guess I will just get up slower, exercise shorter and drink more!! YAY! Kelly
  15. How exciting for you!! CONGRATS!! Kelly
  16. That is exactly how I feel and it is exactly like I can't see. Everything is dark, but usually just for a second and then I am fine. This time was different tho and I went down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will definatly let you all know what my dr. says. I just sent him an email and he is really good about answering within a day. So, I will update here when I get a response. Kelly
  17. Yeah, I am going to email my dr. and surgeon. They are off today because of the holiday, but hopefully, they will get back with me tomorrow. I also am anemic and don't know if this has anything to do with it or not, but I will keep you posted on what they say! Kelly
  18. I was taken off my blood pressure meds a week after surgery, so about 4 months ago. I vagely remember being told in my orientation with Kaiser that this could happen, so I don't know if I should be worried or not. They talk about the dizziness a lot and how you feel lightheaded upon standing, but that was just too weird for me and I don't want it to happen in public!! I would be mortified!!!! Kelly
  19. This was the ONE thing I hoped would go away after my surgery, but it didn't. I was on Nexium and did find that switching to Prilosec at 2 months helped ALOT!! I am a little over 4 months out now and I do still get hungry, but I am not STARVING all of the time like I was before. If you are not on a PPI, get on one and if you are taking one, you may need to switch. It makes a big difference. Kelly
  20. NO WAY!!! That is why I did not have WLS years ago. I NEVER would have my guts re-routed! I love my sleeve and have never had one moment of buyer's remorse! Kelly
  21. Ever since surgery, May 9th, I experience lightheadness when I standup. I have been told this is normal and not to worry. I usually just stand still until the feeling passes and then carry on with what I am doing. I feel it the most when I get up in the morning and when I get up too fast. My dr. has a name for it, but I don't remember. Well, today, just about 20 minutes ago, I got up off the couch from a sitting position to go get my Calcet chew off the bar. I felt that way when I got half way there and kinda shut my eyes and woke up on the floor to my husband asking me what was going on!?!?!?! I passed out I guess and hit my head really hard and now I have a headache!! I have never passed out before from this and it was scary!! Should I be worried??? Thanks! Kelly
  22. This is a great read! Thanks!! Kelly
  23. I agree that each surgeon is different and does their own thing. I had a breathing tube during surgery and a catheter. They took my catheter out about 4 hours after my surgery and I was able to go on my own. I did NOT have a drain. Kelly
  24. My Dr. wanted me to lose 20lbs and I lost 55lbs. Kelly
