  1. I don't like to go to the gym, but I like to walk, jog and use my fitness equipment at my house. Find what you like to do and do that. You don't have to belong to a gym to exercise. There are lots of things you can do without going to a gym. Good luck! Kelly
  2. Simply amazing!! Good work. Kelly
  3. I have not had nausea once and I have not throw up once. I do follow the rules to a "T" tho. I was 11 weeks out yesterday and I feel great. My dr. is Fisher and he is WONDERFUL!! They do not give you nerve meds, but you will be fine! I wasn't nervous at all until they took me into the surgery room and put me on the table. Then I got a little nervous, but then I woke up and it was over!! The worst for me was the gas pains. Those were horrible for about 3 days. Nothing helped. I would do it all again tomorrow!! Hugs, Kelly
  4. Good luck to you all!! I was sleeve at Kaiser Richmond May 9th and have done FANTASTIC!!! You all are in great hands. If I can answer any questions for you, please message me! Kelly
  5. I agree with the above poster, I still eat just the volume of food is different. I never sat around and ate all day before! I just ate the wrong food and a little too much when I did eat. I work 7:30-4:00 m-f and when I get off, i come home, make dinner, walk the dog then exercise. That pretty much fills up my days. On the weekend, i shop, do laundry, clean and exercise. I also watch movies and hang with friends. Kelly
  6. I drink up until I take my first bite of food. I do not drink with meals and I do wait at least 30 minutes after, but mostly 60 minutes. I have taken a drink in the past, like to take a pill and it really doesn't feel very good. It is like there isn't room for both. I also drank milk one time shortly after eating. Man, I was hurtin' for about 10 minutes. So, there really is a reason for waiting. Kelly
  7. You will be able to eat more the further out you get. I get full on 2 meatballs. That is CRAZY!! It really blows my mind how little I eat in comparision to what I used to eat. I eat twice as much as I could 5 weeks ago. It gets better all of the time. My plan doesn't call for a calorie, carb or Protein count. I am supposed to eat 3 times a day with out Snacks. I can not do that because when I do because I eat so little, I am only eating about 300 calories a day. I had to adjust my eating to include snacks. I don't track carbs or protein, but do try to eat high protein foods and get enough calories to compensate for my daily exercise. Kelly
  8. Wow!! What a difference. GOOD JOB!! Kelly
  9. Here is a typical day for me. B- 1 scrambeled egg or 1 1/2 boiled eggs S- small banana L- 2-2 1/2 Foster Farms Homestyle Meatballs or 2-2 1/2 oz grilled chicken or steak S- Protein drink, Pure Protein Bar or 1 oz nuts D- 2-2 1/2 oz Steak, Chicken or Salmon I am 11 weeks out today and that is pretty much how I have eaten since week 4 when I went to soft foods. I get to progress to regular diet next week and can have salad. I am so happy and really looking forward to it. I track my calories on myfitnesspal.com and adjust my daily intake accordingly to get my 650-800 calories daily. Kelly
  10. That is GREAT!!! Congrats!! Kelly
  11. I have a total gym and i love it!! i got it off of qvc for like $300 with flex pay. walking is free and burns a lot of calories, i did this for the first 75/lbs lost. still do walking, but i use my total gym more now for cardio and strentgh. Kelly
  12. You might want to make a trip to your primary dr and tell them how you feel. Are you dizzy at all?? I was that exact way after surgey and went to my PCP and he drew blood and I was horribly anemic!! I take iron supplements daily and I feel soooo much better!! A simple blood test is all it took to see what was going on! Kelly
  13. I wanted to band too. My surgeon said NO WAY!! He told me of all of the complications with the band and that within a year it would be in my throat!! I am so happy that he was honest and did not do it and did the sleeve!! I LOVE MY SLEEVE and read horror stories aboutt he band! Kelly
  14. I was in at 11, had surgery at 2:30 ish. Went home the next afternoon. I did exceptionally well. Kelly
  15. I had the same thing!! It was like a huge crater and was weird. I am 11 weeks out today and mine is gone. I don't know when it went away, but it is gone. Kelly
  16. I was advanced to soft foods on week 4 and that is when I ate hamburger! Good luck! KElly
  17. That should make you feel AWESOME!! It should be a reminder of how much different you look. That would be a constant reminder to me of how great I look!! Kelly
  18. What an awesome feeling!! So happy for you! Kelly
  19. Actually, I did a test this past week and I SHOCKED the hell out of myself!! I snacked more (only 100-150 calories more day), didn't exercise as much-only twice instead of daily and when I weighed this morning, I lost 5.6 lbs!!! WOW WOW WOWWWW!! THAT IS CRAZYYYY!! I am so happy I almost screamed!! I now weigh. 185!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have not been this low since I can not remember when!! I only have 20lbs till goal!! YAY!! Kelly quote name='moongirl' timestamp='1311488009' post='183831'] I'm having the same problem. I'm about 5 weeks post-op and have hit a stall. I too am exercising and am often at a deficit for calories. Some days I only consume about 500 calories. I have been adding a Protein shake and am now trying to eat more than three times a day. Like you I can't eat enough during meal times to get my calories up. Especially, heavy foods like meat. I have decided to add a couple of Snacks too. However, I'm worried it will slow my weight loss.
  20. I get the hiccups at least 2-3 times a day and I will be 11 weeks on Monday! They are annoying, I don't know what is up with them, but really wish they would stop!! Kelly
  21. The gas for me was HORRIBLE!! The only pain I had was the gas. Nothing helped. I was miserable for about 4-5 days. Then when it finally decided to break loose, I got really bad gas and was soooo happy to fart!! TMI, I am sure, but I felt so much better after about 10 of them. Then I got the squirts and that just made me feel even better. Those lasted for about a week. It sucks, but it is what we have to go thru. Gas X did nothing for me!! Walking didn't help, only time made it better. Hope your's breaks loose soon!! Kelly
  22. If you have to lift stuff. Have your dr. write a lifting restriction for you when you return to work and therefore you will not be able to lift for the required healing time, but will be able to be at work. That way, if they make you lift and you hurt yourself, then they are liable. Kelly
  23. I took gummies in the begining, but my nut said they didn't give me enough nutrients. So I went to BA multi. After a few weeks they began to make me sick, so at 4 weeks post-op I was able to swallow BIG pills and switched to Centrum. I have been taking them ever since! Kelly
  24. No, it does not bother my stomach at all. I don't have constipation or any upset. I also take Ester-C for better absorption of the Iron. I take one of the iron pills when I get up, my Centrum with Breakfast and another iron pill before bed. I also have the iron chews from Bariatric Advantage and i eat a couple of them a few times a week. Hopefully, I won't o.d. on iron!! LOL Kelly
  25. I was always starving before surgery and prayed and prayed that this would be resolved for me post-op. I was so sad when I was still hungry at 7-8 weeks after surgery. I too take a PPI everyday and have for 8 years. I just felt so defeated. Alot of folks on here talk about false hunger from acid and I mentioned it to my surgeon and he said it was bolonga!! I took it upon my self to get some Prilosec OTC and try it insead of my Nexium. It took about 17 days of taking it befor I noticed a difference, but I seriously can tell a HUGE difference in my hunger now and I have been taking it for about a month now. I still get hungry, but I am not STARVING all of the time like before. If I go 5-6 hours without eating, my stomach will tell me, but I don't growl all damn day like before. I got my primary dr. to give me a prescription for the Prilosec because it is cheaper than buying it over the counter and I am now taking it everyday instead of the Nexium. If you can, get some Prilosec and try it. If it works have your surgeon switch you. Good luck! Kelly
