  1. Good job!! I always love to hear success stories from people that are further out!! Kelly
  2. I had my surgery 5/9/11 and have lost 40lbs since then. I lost 55lbs pre-op making my total 95lbs lost! I have lost 83% of my excess weight and have gone from a size 22 to a loose 12. Don't base yourself on what other's do. You will do fine if you follow your dr.'s guidelines and exercise. Kelly
  3. I don't know how far out you are, but I am just over 3 months and I rarely get 64oz a day!! It is so hard to do when you cant drink after a meal or before or this or that! I drink all damn day and still don't get it in. I don't think you REALLY HAVE to get that much in, that is just the GOLD STANDARD for anybody. You should drink that much daily regardless of surgery or not! I think if you are drinking Water and urinating and it is not orange, you are fine! I have not had issues and my dr. told me to do my best! Kelly
  4. Funny you should ask!! I went and bought some new shoes last weekend and I have ALWAYS worn a 10 in a dress shoe. ALWAYS!!! Depending of my weight, I sometimes need a WIDE!! I wear a 9,5 in a tennis shoe. So, I get these really cute dress sandals for work and try on the 10W and it is HUGE on me. so I get the 9.5W, same thing! I ended up getting the 9M. My foot went down a whole size!! THAT IS CRAZY!! I have lost weight before, but never had my foot go down a whole size!! Just the width! Kelly
  5. full liquids are: milk, Protein drinks, pudding, creamed soups w/o chunks (have to strain out), applesauce, and yogurt. NOT MUCH I KNOW! I would not do chili because of the chunks. I was allowed chili on pureed foods, but it still could not have the chunks. Kelly
  6. I ate dinner at 6 and went to bed at 8:30. That is how I usually eat. I take my PPI in the a.m. I am just going to stay clear of the spicy for a while and see if that helps. Thanks all!! Kelly
  7. also....why when we post stuff, do these ads display in our posts??? so annoying!! Kelly
  8. Last night I went to sleep and about 2 hours later, I woke up choking on acid and a burning throat!!! I have had reflux for 8 years and have NEVER had that happen. I got up and took a chug of Gaviscon and another Nexium and it stopped burning and I was able to go back to sleep. That was scary!! FOr the past 3 nights for dinner, I have had taco filling, I wonder if that is the reason for my suffering???? Anyone else have this? It was weird for me. Kelly
  9. What i found really helped me in the begining was timing myself between bites. I HATE to throw up and was so scared of doing so that made me eat slowly!! I looked at the clock and would wait 1 minute between my bites and chew and chew!! BORING i know, but it worked for me. Now that I am 3 months out, i just eat slowly now and have NEVER gotten sick!! So, it worked for me!! Try it!! Kelly
  10. I was taken off my diabetes meds one week post op and my blood sugars reamain in the 80-90's daily! You can't go wrong with this surgery!! KElly
  11. I had the exact same thing after surgery. Do you take blood pressure meds??? If so, you may need to see your primary dr. to come off them as you may not need them any more. That was a problem for me. I also was SEVERLY anemic after surgery and that was a big reason I was so dizzy!! A simple blood test will show that. It is worth a trip to your dr. to see what is going on. Kelly
  12. My surgeon said there isn't anything that can be done about the hair loss. It will fall out no matter what. It WILL grow back! AND.............I should think of my hair loss as a "TROPHY" So, that is what I do everytime a get a handfull!! LOL Kelly
  13. It is sooo much better to EAT your Protein and not DRINK it. It stays in your tummy longer. Try eating meat, fish, eggs, and cheese as your protein source and not drinking it. You will be much more satisfied. Kelly
  14. That is so AWESOME!! Good for you! Kelly
  15. Buy her a massage, pedicure, manicure or all the above. Or you could do couples massage. That is romantic and fun!! kelly
  16. I did it on my full liquid stage, but just so you know, it is not that good. Kelly

  18. Hi Bruce and welcome!! You are doing great! Keep up the good work. Kelly
  19. That is awesome!! I would post a pic too, but I was FAT when I got married, so mine would be too big!! LOL Kelly
  20. Thanks everyone for your support and encouragement! It really means alot! Kelly
  21. Thanks!! I am supposed to eat 1/2 c three times a day right now, but I can not do that. When I do, I only consume around 300-400 calories and that does not work for me! So, I eat my three meals and a snack or two depending on my calorie count for the day. I use my fitness pal to track my calories, but really that is all I pay attention to. I don't count carbs at all. B- 2-2.5 oz Protein (chicken, fish, trukey burger) or scrambled/boiled egg S-Light cheese stick L- 2-2.5 oz protein (tuna, chicken, trukey, meatballs, lunchmeat) S- 1 oz. Jerky or 1oz nuts or pure Protein shake or bar D- 2-2.5 oz protein (salmon, steak, tri-tip, chicken) a couple green Beans. I rarely can eat all my meat at meal times. I can eat more steak and fish than chicken. I have not eaten any "bad carbs" rice, bread, Pasta, etc. I have had a couple bites of baked yams and some cooked veggies, but that is about it. I do not eat sweets at all. I exercise pretty much everyday. I walk mostly at a very fast pace about 3-4 miles. I try to keep my calories between 750-850 daily. Kelly
  22. OOOOMMMMMMGGGG!! You are hecka small!! You better be careful tho! When those Santa Anna winds pick up soon, you will blow away!! Seriously tho, you look AWESOME!!! GOOD JOB!! Kelly

  24. So tomorrow is my 3 month sleeveversary!! WOO HOO. I wanted to give an update on my progress to everyone and my RED VELVET's!! As of tomorrow, I can officially have a "regular" diet and eat anything I wish. Within reason of course. Just meaning, nothing is off limits like before. I am soooo looking forward to having a salad and have bought all my stuff for it!! YAY! I have done really well. I have not had any nausea or vomiting. Have not overeaten or felt ill from eating and am happy about that. I actually undereat my sleeve for fear of this!! I exercise daily and eat according to my plan. As of today, I have lost 95lbs!! WOOP. 40lbs since surgery 3 months ago and 55lbs pre-op!! I have gone from 280 to 185 and a 43.2 bmi to a 28.1!!! I have not taken my bp or diabetic medication since one week after surgery and my blood sugars are in the 80-90's daily!! I am soooo happy about that. I went from a 22/24 clothing size and now wear a loose 12. I really can't say enough good things about my sleeve. I love it! I would love to hear how my Red Velvet's and other's are doing!!! Kelly
  25. Have you tried the drinkable yogurt? It is filling. Unfortuantly there really isnt much to eat on full-liquids. Hang in there. It DOES get better!! Kelly
