  1. My advice is stayREALLY connected to VSGorother support groups. Takea deep breath, realize that you did this for a good reason evidently, you weren't successful at losing and keeping it off like the rest of us. You might also be grieving. I know that sounds funny but its the loss of what WAS. Food as a source of happiness. Food as our "go to!" The physical part will get better and you will seethe good in your decision. Hang in! Good things ahead!
  2. I guess I am unusual. I have NEVER had any regrets at all. Even not admitting them to myself. Yes, I was tired. Yes, I did have to figure out what worked for me but I lost easily and quickly and got better pretty quickly. I think it is truly a "state of mind." Life will never be the same after having the sleeve but truly for me, it was life changing. Three years out now and still would do it again tomorrow! Good luck to all!
  3. I weighed every day while starting out and still weigh most days. But like others, my official weigh day is Friday.
  4. My taste buds did change. The "thought" of food is still there but it doesn't taste like I think it will with the exception of a few things. I know exactly what you mean. Would love the true taste of things and have the ability to eat much less, though now, the only thing that doesn't taste "off" is junk food! Which, unfortunately, tastes good! . I
  5. Oh and BTW, Laura, the tip worked for me too!
  6. And the whole LARGE BACK ROOM super cheap cheap CHEAP candy. ;(. Get thee behind me, Chocolate Devil! LOL
  7. No scales on vacay. Did decent til 2 days ago and um, not good since then. Walking and hiking but... Well, as I said. I DEFINITELY do better on a routine.
  8. Well, here is what I have found on vacay. Not eating a LOT over normal range (except yesterday 1500) but I am definitely a creature of routine and being out of it makes me want to snack more or choose other choices not on my "usual". BUT I did make it to the Tanger Outlet and bought size EIGHT skirt which fit very nicely and liking the way I feel. Of course, I also made it to the Coach store ????????????????while Hubs, Daugjter and Grands went to Dollywood! Lol
  9. Q: I'm the queen of yo-yo dieting, and I'm afraid that I've ruined my metabolism because of all my ups and downs. Is there hope for me? A: According to a number of studies published in respected journals, your yo-yoing ways have not "ruined" your metabolism. However, all those ups and downs may have changed your body composition in a way that makes it harder for you to lose at each successive cycle. That's because when you drop weight, you lose both fat and muscle, but when you regain weight, you gain back proportionally more fat. That's unfortunate because, pound for pound, muscle burns more calories than fat. The best way to maintain your valuable muscle mass is to strength train two to three days per week. Also, make sure you're getting enough lean protein. You can achieve this by consuming at least half your body weight in grams of protein. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, eat no less than 75 grams of protein per day. Best bets are skinless chicken and turkey, seafood, low-fat dairy foods, egg whites, beans, tofu, and edamame.
  10. Hi, my name is Georgia, and I am a 5:2 enthusiast. On vacay right and I hope I still have 22 pounds lost when I get back ( or I WILL have by the end of the week I get back anyway!). Started 5:2 about June 5th I believe.
  11. Think I'm going to have it done. I'm guessing around 1300-1400. I know if I eat more I gain. And I'm with BTB, candy is just another easy slider for me. Early in chocolate made me kinda sick but of course, that went away.
  12. 9 pounds in 3 weeks! Fab!!! Oh and all my 5:2 "frands", vacay, um, not so much the fasting but having. Fab time and walking for exercise so hopefully, all will be well. Didn't get to fast today my normal day so go na try to hold it down tomorrow. Averaging about 1000-1100 so far a day. Not too bad.
