  1. I totally understand how u feel....and i know reading what ppl write on here it seems like after 2 spoons everyone is full.... It also sux because there is so much variation in what docs and nuts say to do. i was told i should be able to eat 4 ozs of food and it should take me half hr to 45 mins. 3 meals no Snacks. It amazes me that people get to eat snacks...i am jealous. but i guess it makes sense that I should be able to eat 4 ozs if i am not eating in between. I just had lunch a 4oz tupperware container of turkey chili and I sprinkled cheese on top for extra Protein. Took me about 17 mins to eat. And I am full. Not uncomfortable but full...but truth be told...if I had more food in front of me I could probably keep going... I almost want to throw up just to see what my limitations are...but again, everyone says solids changes the game....we'll see. i am losing, but slowly so far...
  2. I havent started solids yet...but I measure religiously and I can eat 4ozs with no problem at all. Tuna salad, eggs, Beans etc...i start solids this weekend.
  3. And I feel like I am losing pretty slowly....I know about the stalls etc but it is pretty frustrating. I lost about 44 lbs pre op and only 15lbs since. 9lbs within the first 10 days and about 6lbs since. I will say that I have lost 4 lbs in the past week, so maybe it is picking up. I have decided to make a conscious effort this past weekend to up my Protein to at least 60 every day, and I lost almost 2 lbs over the weekend. One thing I will say is that I get 4oz down with no problem and that worries me because I dont know if that is affecting my weight loss. Ever since purees/mushies started, I have eaten with no issues...no blockage, or throwing up A question about stalls...does it mean u stop losing or potentially gain, or does it account for slow loss as well? BTW I start regular foods this weekend...so i wonder how that will affect it all. Thanks for any input. I gotta get this scale moving.
  4. i really dont want to have plastic surgery...if possible...so this is good to know funnily enough I was speaking with a friend and she stated that she thinks that most WLS ppl DONT have plastic surgery. Do you guys agree?
  5. i want sushi SOOOOOOOOO bad lol
  6. i am taking the psyllium husk also...i mix it into my shakes if I feel extremely constipated i take milk of magnesia its pretty mild
  7. congrats! you look great. any tips on keeping your skin in tact, or was it luck of the draw?
  8. 3 weeks post op: Breakfast-cream of wheat with one scoop on unflavored unjurylunch-Ricotta bakedinner-black beans, cheese, and a tbsp of Fage 2% and half scoop unflavored unjury
  9. that night and the following morning, I had some dry heaving and spitting up, nothing was in my stomach. The next day I started liquids and the nausea subsided for the most part.
  10. Thanks Kelly! There was pus coming from it. I was sure it was infected. But he said it was folliculitis along the incision line which is common and not to worry.
  11. That's true...she proceeded to tell me how her niece wants to do the surgery because she has struggled with her weight her whole life. I just dread her spreading my business all over...but oh well the cat is out the bag
  12. Diva Dee, cheer up. Just make sure ur happy with your decision, and that you're doing it for u. I chickened out in the past, years ago, and this time I was sure, prepared, and ready, NO ONE could stop me. When I told my mom in October, she CRIED. She tried for months to change my mind. My family wasnt really in favor of the surgery, but in the end I couldn't do it without them. My family was a huge support system. My friends too. My mom has come around, and is very involved in the process and wanting to know more about what I am eating, how I am feeling. When ppl see that you're sure and educated about your decision and when you start losing weight they will be happy for you and if not screw em, you'll be happy
  13. Thanks so much Emily! I lost much more weight pre-op, but I guess its noticeable now.
  14. Yesterday morning, I had a concern about possible infection of one of my incisions (which the doc said was fine). While in the surgery dept I see my cleaning lady who was there with her father So she sees me this morning, and she asks "Samantha is everything ok, because I saw you over there yesterday" So I respond yes. Then she continues "you look like your losing weight. Did you do that surgery" And I responded yes. Ughhh I'm not hiding it, but I didnt expect anyone to come right out and ask me, especially not so soon. I have only been back to work since Monday.
  15. I work in a hospital so there are scales everywhere, in the bathroom, and in fact in my office. Oddly enough I dont have one at home...i figure I dont need one, and I can take the weekends off from weighing in
  16. I love it!! great story. Keep it up!
  17. breakfast-Protein shake Lunch-Ricotta bake Dinner-??? maybe tuna salad or a Beans and cheese combo water-24 ozs so far vites yup exercise- gonna try for a 30 min walk
  18. honestly I think I want to focus on weight/strength training. Me personally I am concerned about the saggy skin...building muscle will help u burn fat, and eating the smaller portions will help u lose weight anyway. But like Kimmes said, i think it depends on what your ultimate goal is.
  19. Omg I feel the same way and it worries me. I can eat 4ozs each sitting with no problem. Reading all these stories about people throwing up, and only eating two tablespoons makes me wonder if I am overeating. But i am barely eating over 700 calories a day...so I will try not to worry about it.
  20. my prayers are definitely with you. Be strong, and God works miracles
  21. i totally get you. I just figure since I am in purees, I try to rely on volume...once I hit solids, then I will rely on weight...
