Try the Low Fat Black Bean Soup it is awesome and a wonderful staple for me when I was on mushy stage. I LOVE IT! I tried a store bought black bean soup and it was gross. That is too bad because Panera is a little expensive, but 1 bowl would last like 3 meals so I guyess $5 for 3 meals is not too bad.

I would look at a Walmart Supercenter with a grocery store. Walmart is related to Sams Club, so maybe they have them.
Since you can freeze them for 4 months, I told hubby to pick up a couple boxes in case they decided to quit selling them. If you do see them at a regular store, please let me know.

I am having the Vertical Sleeve surgery done on July 11. Am I scared? Yes definately ... but the final results are worth it. I have fought this 2 week liquid diet for only one week now and there are days i think I'm going to go nuts, is it really the food or the fact that I can't have it? Actually, sacrificies will have to become a main part of My "new Skinny life".
I too have young children and I fear the typical questions of a general antisetic. But everything will be worth it in the end. I have struggled with weight, now diabetes, for far too long. I am ready to make change and will keep all you others in my prayers as well.
I am seeing Dr. Fearing with Malley Weight Loss Center in Overland Park, KS So far so good!
You will LOVE Dr. Fearing she is great and she really cares about her patients. She did my surgery on April 11th. I have had a couple of complications (no fault of hers) and she is all over them.
MAKE NOTE: Do not let them keep your IV in the same hand over 2 days. I was at Menorah an they did that to me an it caused me to get Thrombosis in my left arm and it is very painful for over a month all because they got a little lazy and didn't want to move it. If it starts to hurt/burn do not let them push any more fluids till they switch it to the other arm. They were awesome to me besides that, but just make sure. From what I read on the forums Malley's keeps us in the hospital a little longer then some I think with 3 days, so the risk is greater. Keep us posted on how it goes.

I got these at Sams Club yesterday and OMG are they good, very soft and moist. We cooked them in a fry pan. Will try them on the grill next time. I wish I had found these sooner when I needed softer foods. Also they are All Nautral & Gluten & MSG Free if that is a concern for you. You can throw them in the microwave too. There are 8 1/4 lb burgers in a pack. They are pre cooked so easy to heat up.
Here is the nutrition info:

Hi all my fellow sleevers,
Like most sleevers, when I had my VSG procedure I set some weight loss progress goals so my ultimate weight loss goal (99 lbs.) didn't seem quite so impossible. Aside from my ultimate weight loss goal, the one goal that I really, really wanted to achieve was to weigh less than my husband ... and finally, today was the day! WOOT!?! I saw 170.4 on the scale and knew I was really close to his weight, so I called DH to hop on the scale. He obliged, and the scale said he weighed 172.8 -- more than 2 lbs. more than I weigh.
This is a sweet NSV! We are having our 15th anniversary on Wednesday, and for most of our marriage, I have weighed more than DH. But not this year! This is the best anniversary present I can think of!
I still have nearly 40 lbs. to lose to hit my ultimate goal, so my weight loss journey still has a quite a ways to go ... but today I am pretty darn happy!
I know exactly what you are saying. I have weighed more then my husband every since we have been together the last 11 years. The top being me at 240 and him at 170 and being the exact same height. I am slowly inching down there, but that would the biggest NSV for me, would be to finally weigh less then he does.

Today I weighed in at 199.8. I have been fighting a 1-3 pound fluctuation for over a 2 weeks now and finally made it! Yipeeeeee! I haven't been this weight for over 9 years.

I used to be a beer girl, but i'm only about 6 months out, and just a few sips and I'm burping like a sailor! So, out in public I do NOT drink beer! My fav drink of choice is flavored vodka, green apple, watermelon, etc. with Crystal Lite Raspberry Lemonade. it tastes just like a Jolly Rancher candy! Only problem is that they go down way to quick! I can drink maybe one and halfway through, i'm buzzed, but by the time I get to the end, I'm totally sober again! It is weird!!!
Hopefully by the summer I can enjoy a nice cold beer while floating in the pool, much easier than making mixed drinks!!
Patti
I have found it depends on the beer. I have tried Blue Moon and it works pretty well also Anheiser Bush has a Blueberry Beer out called Wild Blue that does well. I think beers with less carbonation just seem to work better.

I am right there with you as well! Hopefully by next week we all hit it together!

Congrats on Wonderland!
I am right on your heels with less then 2 pounds to loose, but I have been stuck in a major rut and can't get out of it flucating a pound or two every day.
Hopefully I will be joining you in Wonderville at least by next week.

You look AMAZING! And are a true inspiration!

Did any one drink boost or ensure or anything like that as a meal? The list from my doc say carnation instant breakfast. I think these will be comparable.
I was told NO to both of these from my doc because of the calorie/carb/sugar/protein ratio.

Sleeved April 11th and down 35lbs. Only complications is lack of energy and nausea every time I eat so on medication for that. I had a stall for a little more then 2 weeks, but back on the losing track again or at least I hope.
I cannot eat much or drink much so I am only getting in about 40-50 grams of Protein and about 40-60 oz of Water. I am trying to up it but it's been rough doing so. Other then that everything is going good, just wish the weight loss would speed up a bit.

One thing we all need to keep in mind is that Hip is male so it is possible they gave him a bigger stomach because of that fact. It would be nice if more men had posted here for him to compare with.

I was sleeved the same on 4/11 and am having a hard time with food and Water consumtion as well. One thing I found which tastes awesome and has Protein is LF Black Bean Soup from Panera's. They are a little pricy for $5 a bowl but it lasts me for at least 3 meals. It taste great and will have Fiber to counter act the cheese and has protein and whole bowl is 170 divided by 3 so not bad. They have a little high carbs but alot of that is Fiber. It's been a saving grace for me.

I lost 10 pounds the first week post op, NOT AN OUNCE SINCE THEN!! I am so frustrated, getting depresses!! I got in 73g of Protein today, between 50 and 60 ounces of Water, and 810 calories. What am I doing wrong???? I feel like I wasted my time and money having this surgery! I never would have put myself and my body through this if I had known this would be the result. Please somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong!!
You are right with me. I have lost 25 lbs since surgery as well on the 11th.

Keep looking, Meggie! Every one has a particular body chemistry that responds differently to different flavors and brands. I found that the powders are much better than the ready-mixed cans or bottles. I used one from GNC--they will let you return anything you do not like, and sometimes will give you a sample if they have them. There are forums on this subject with recommendations, but for everyone who likes a brand there is someone who hates it. Just keep looking. (I had a lot of luck with unjury powders, too.)
The GNC AMP 60 is the best I have tasted in choclate. It is very smooth and not gritty. Before Suregery I was using 2 scoops now after surgery 1 to 1/2 and some milk. Also bough some raspberry SF Torani Suryp and add a bit to make shake yummmm! And she is right they do refund your money if you don't like it.

Did they just give you the Heparin shots- is that normal or did they just start after you already had an issue?
They started tem as soon as I got out of surgery.
How many times and for how long were ur stalls?

You cannot believe how I sound so like you. I have had this stall that is lasting forever and it is about to drive me insane. Keep thinking I am losing all this hair and can't eat much and don't have much energy all for 40+ pounds. I am so frustrated at this point. I stil have 60 to go and see no end in sight an no weight lost for so long after closing in on a little over 3 months. SO FRUSTRATED to the point where I have been avoiding the forums becuse I have no positive news to report.
