I had a Tummy Tuck 3 years ago and had 2 drains for 2 weeks and it is awful and gross so not looking forward to that again. I was just at Walmart tonight and they had Propel 0cal and it was cheaper then Vitamin Water and Sobe at .88 ech as compared to 1.00 ech. I grabbed me some Grape. Just be sure to gradullay slow the caffine down and don't do it all at once. I did read somewhere to take a big saftey pin with you and I have to agree there, much easier whey they aren't swinging and stay in place.

NO, it's OK ask away! Yes, you will have a drain and I think it is for 7-10 days including your hospital. They called me I think it was the first week of March and we determined I was not going to be covered by insurance. So I spoke with the hubby that weekend we called and upped our Care Credit and I called back on Monday and said I would do it and they called me a few days later with my date of the 11th. I though she said they only did them once or twice a month which they do lap bands twice a week which is sad. She did not mention that Dr. Malley would be in there. I just got a call yesterday and my surgery is schedule for 10:45 on the 11th and have to be there by 8am in the hospital till some time on the 13th. I started drinking less dt. pop last week but had no caffine over the weekend and I think that did me in. So stating Monday I have had very little caffeine with either 1 dt. pop a day or today I have a big glass of unsweet tea that was 1/2 caffinated 1/2 decaf. So I am going to wean off of it instead of cold turkey. My migraine was bad, hubby had to take me to the ER at 1:00am on Monday morning and 3 shots and 3 hours later back at home and off work on Monday. It sucked bad!

Yes, Going to Dr. Malley. It says any shake as long as it s under 200 calories and low sugar with aprox 20 grams of protein. The only upside is the 2 cups per day you can have of Gatorade, skim milk (this is in addition to making your protein drinks, SHERBET!, and Diet Soda which I am trying to quit because I abuse Dt. Drinks and had a Migraine Monday from caffeine withdraws. And 2 serving of fruit either alone or in your drink. Other then that just any SF drinks, broth and jell-o and Popsicles, that's it. It's hard when you still have a full appetite. I do have some samples of the Chicken soup but they are at work. I do have some on their way via UPS though. I am so hoping they are as good as everyone says. I also just bought some veggie stock tonight and I can't do that either, just yuck my taste-buds will never be the same. But this is coming from someone that is a picky eater and doesn't like stuff like, eggs, onions, mushrooms, most seafood (thank God I like tuna, cod and salmon) and a lot of other veggies.

I am at like a 39.7 or so and with a 6 month diet would probably be under even more. Since I don't have any of the diseases they list or HBP then I didn't want to wait the 6 months to find out i was for nothing. I have a lot of other ailments just not what they want to see in someone under a 40 BMI. Plus the job I work at it would have been really hard to get all the appointments they require. My Hubby works for GM and we have BCBS of KS and they pay 100% but it is full of a lot of stipulations for GM empolyees and famlies. So with my hubby's support we went ahead an took the leap and are paying out of pocket using Care Credit.

I have only tried the choclate and I love it, it's the best I have ever tasted. I have actually been doing about 2 1/2 scoops 3 just seems too much with the amount of liquid. But yes you could make one and sip it all day and you know you got you requirements in. I want to try the other flavors since the choclate is so good.

Bumping my posts to catch the people that may have missed it and have one near them. Great time to catch up on your Protein. I was just in there the other day and they had a lot to choose from. They have lots of singles you can purchase so you can try before you buy a lot.

So my Pre-Op diet starts next Monday with my Surgery on the 11th. I am trying to start working in just being on shakes so one for Breakfast and one for lunch a serving of fruit and then stopped for some Chinese on the way one. Baby steps right? Anyway, cracked one my Fortune Cookie and what does it say?.... The coming month shall bring winds of change in your life! Welcome to the site and your new journey. I am going to warn you...this site is soooo Addictive! I was excited when I decided to have my surgery but after reading the great and many success stories here I am on pin and needles waiting for mine in a month. I can't wait to be among these great people that have already begun their battle and had such great success and continue to be an inspiration to us.

Hi, I am almost exactly in your shoes. This is what I found out. I have acid reflux, fibo, massive pain constantly, endometriosis, but none of the condition that qualify me to be under a 40BMI. So I thought, no big deal I can gain a few pounds and get to a 40 and then insurance would pay. Then I got the big news that I would be on a 6 month medically supervised diet. There would be no way I would qualify after that so I am now a Self-Pay patient. Although the money will be out of pocket, I don't have all the Dietician appointments, pscy appointments and I get it NEXT MONTH! I don't have to wait the 6+months even if I did quality with insurance. So I am kind of glad it worked out this way since I get it sooner but it will be well worth every penny!

Congrats on your weight loss! You are truly an inspiration and I hope my results can be that good. Keep us posted on how you are doing. I just found you on Youtube and checking out your blogs now. I love it when people do these, it really helps to know what to expect.

You still may want to check your options of offices even with insurance. You may find the different offices bill things differently and may have much less out of pocket from one as compared to another. It wouldn't hurt to check around by any means. New Hope has always been really quick to get back with me and get the answers for me I needed when I was initially trying to pursue insurance. OK, strange question but have you lost about 100 lbs and your skin has shrunk down has anyone that previously had spider veins in their legs noticed any kind of difference after their weight loss? Was there a change for the better or worse or none at all?

If all goes south with them you really sould check into New Hope/Malley Surgical. If you have to end up paying for it, it's $16,500 and includes everything even office visits for the first year. It sounds like you would fair better with that option then even with insurance paying if you do find they have a cap at $10,000. Keep us posted how it goes. Don't let my hubby hear this,but glad I didn't have to go through insurance since I would have to wait out the 6 month Dr. Diet. Pay out of pocket and I get it NOW! LoL, I can't wait.

He will be doing mine April 13. There are quite a bit of sleevers on here from KC. We have been talking about having some get togethers/support group. I would love to meet up with everyone after I have my surgey. It would be great to have a local Sleevers support group. UUggghhh 15 minutes until it will be exactly 1 month away for my surgery, Not that Iam counting or anything!
