Any Teachers Out There!??
Well I am in my second week back. Going well but extremely tired every day!! I love the idea of having the kids help you with liquid intake. I am going to have to try that starting in the morning. It is so hard for me to remember to drink. As crazy as that sounds. I also am having a hard time remembering my vitamins. It was so easy when I was home recovering. But now back at work it is harder to remember. Thanks for the great idea!!!

Frustation
I know this sounds like I am being really whiny but I cant help it. I really thought that I would be losing more weight than this. I was sleeved on 3/7 with a surgery weight of 233. I got down to 219 this past Friday. Today I am 222. I dont get it. I am hardly eating!! I dont know, maybe that is the reason? This is my routine-- I have a Chike shake for Breakfast. Soup for lunch-maybe a cup. It is all I can hold. A snack-pudding, yogurt, popcicle or something like that. And then dinner-soup and a few crackers. I stay under 500 calories everyday. I should be losing right?? I really try to drink Water or crystal lite as much as I can but I find it hard to drink water all day long. Its like I get going with my day and forget. Then when I remember I only take a few sips. Then off I go again. I dont know what is going on. I read stories of people here losing like a pound or two everyday. I am in my 3rd week and I have really only lost 10 pounds post surgery. WTF. I went through all of this and nothing is really happening. Emotionally I am losing it. I keep crying at the drop of a hat. I feel emotionally I am all over the place!! Any sound advice??

Things people say...
You know... this is the biggest reason that not many people know I had WLS. You just never know how people are going to react. Sorry you had to go through that. We definitely didnt chose the easy way out. This is the hardest thing I have ever done. Its painful, frustrating, confusing and time consuming. And that is just a small part of the story. I could go on and on! Emotionally it is super hard! You didnt need that on top of everything else we go through with this.

Steri Strips
Hi! Monday I will be 2 weeks post op and I was wondering the same thing. And I totally forgot to ask my doc if the stiches will go away on their own or not. I would assume they would. But the strips are starting to drive me crazy itchy! Hope everything is going well so far with your post op recovery?

Any Teachers Out There!??
Thanks guys! That gives me a lot of options and stuff to watch out for. I think I will just stay away from the lounge for a little while. I think that would help a great deal. I am gonna run to walmart this weekend and buy one of those really small microwaves for my classroom. Once I feel strong enough I will venture out. Gonna be interesting!

Cheeseburger!
Thanks Chilo1! I appreciate the post. I think once I get off this 2 week post op clear liquid phase and get back to work, I too will try and get my family to eat better. I think we ALL could use a complete overhaul! I love the fact that we all are going to be more healthy and strong for each other. And when that fast food crap has to come into the house due to son's late soccer practice or game I will go straight into another room. Thanks for the support!

Cheeseburger!
I think that is a good idea to go in another room. I guess I am trying to be strong for my family and tell them it is ok that they eat whatever they want. Inside it is killing me. Thanks for the help! Definitely gonna try it!! One day at a time, One day at a time, One day at a time........

Any Teachers Out There!??
I am a 4th grade teacher and I was wondering for all of you sleevers who have returned back to work...how is it going? I am on spring break now but next Monday will be my first day back at work. I am worried that I will have a lack of energy or still in some pain. How was walking around the classroom and walking them to all their specials? I only have 25 minutes for lunch and it takes me a good 30 to eat my broth (I am at 1 week post surgery right now). I am afraid that I will talk so much that I wont remember to drink my water every 15 to 20 minutes. I guess you can say I am a little worried. I am sure I will have to create some sort of routine everyday and reminder system. Just not sure what that is at the moment. Any advice from teachers out there that are going through this??

Cheeseburger!
Ok this is the first time I have had to deal with outside fast food since surgery!! My hubby and daughter brought back Cheeseburgers and Fries for dinner. The smell alone is about to knock me out! It smells so good! I know this is the kind of thing that I am going to have to get used to, but it doesnt make it easy!! Yum!

Sleeved on March 7th, 2011
Hello everyone! I am so glad to have found this site. I was sleeved on March 7th, 2011. I have been battling my weight all my life but really started to gain heavily in my 20s. I have yoyoed for years and reached my highest of 242 this past year. I am so excited I decided to get sleeved. I really believe it was the right decision for me. It has been 1 week today since my surgery. It has been really challenging for me to say the least. I knew it was going to be hard but I guess I really had no idea how hard it was going to be. This past week on all Clear liquids has been rough. I am getting tired and more tired of broth soups! I wish there was something else I could have. But I guess I have another week of this. I found a protien shake that I like called Chike. It is much better to me than the ones that are premade. Which is good considering I am not a fan of them really to begin with. One thing I have noticed is that my cravings for real food has not gone away. I crave everything and die at every commercial on TV wanting what they are selling. That is rough. I thought when they cut out that part of the stomach the cravingings would slow down. When my family is eating I just WISH I could have what they are having. I think I am just being whiney now. Sorry. I know I wont be on liquids forever. It is a step by step process and I will get through it. I am excited for my new life and journey for sure! Cant wait to talk to all of you and compare stories and helpful hints and such. I have already learned so much by reading all of your posts and cant wait to learn more! Here we go!!! Good luck to everyone and Congratulations on getting Sleeved!!!

Struggling
I feel your pain. I hate the protien shakes!! I am in the 2 weeks liquid phase of this-Day 6 to be exact. I am not sure how to get the protien I need without drinking those damn shakes. Any suggestions that you have learned since this post?

Gurgling sounds, hungry and cramping
I am so glad I read this post. I am 6 days post surgery and I have the same stuff going on. Sometimes very painful that it takes my breath away. I am happy to know that at least the pain goes away. Thanks!!

questions for newbie
Hi everyone. Had my sleeve done on Monday, March 7th. I am really having a hard time. I thought I wouldnt have all the cravings anymore but I am having them all the time. Do you know how many food commercials there are on TV? I have a few questions... 1-What does a typical day supposed to look like? For example, how much on a given day do you eat and drink? I am supposed to only have liquids like broth, Jello and popcicles. 2-Am I supposed to be eating anything else? Like protien..How do you get yours in? This is harder emotionally than I thought it would be. I am so glad that I chose this path but I am having a hard time adjusting. Any suggestions?
