  1. Hi everyone!! I was sleeved march 7th of last year. It has been a great year. I have lost 72 pounds so far. I am really happy ab the loss but am a little frustrated right now. Y'all will think I am crazy but here goes..... I thought I would lose more. I have also not lost anything in about 2/3 months. I guesss it has been since Christmas. I am actually going up and down on the scale. Fluctuating btw 5-7 pounds. It is so frustrating. Not sure what to do about it. I ask myself all the time.. Is this it? Am I done losing now? What do y'all think and is anyone going through this too?
  2. So excited for you!! Good luck and congratulations!!
  3. Thanks to all with your help and information. I really appreciate the different views and experiences yall have had. To the two on here that questioned my choice today..... Fast food and sugary stuff was never MY issue. So that is one thing I dont have to worry about in my VSG journey. I just dont want to be surprised by something that was supposed to be a healthier choice but ended up not being at all, for me.
  4. Thanks guys. Took your advice and brought my own popcorn and some cheese. Loved the movie! It is nice to be reminded of better ways of doing things. I know we all have the same goals and want to lose weight, but it is nice not to be chastized when we ask questions on here. I asked a question earlier about something and this one person responded rudely and she doesnt even know me. Thanks guys!! Yall are awesome!
  5. I was curious about Dumping Syndrom. How long until we dont have to worry about this? I am 7 weeks out and went to McDonalds. I got a strawberry banana smoothie because I thought it would be a good choice. Well ab an hour later my stomach started its thing and off to the restroom I went. I was so mad!! I looked it up and those things have TONS of surgar in them!! My stomach couldnt handle it at all. So what do yall thing. Will there be a time when we can have sugary stuff again and not have to worry about having any EPISODES I call them??
  6. Ok! So today the kids and I are going to the movies to see HOP! It will be my first time going since being sleeved 7 weeks ago. My question is.... what can I get there? Is it okay to have a kids sized popcorn or will that hurt my stomach? What about a hot dog? I am sure I cant eat a lot of anything but wanted to make sure exactly WHAT I could consume. Any help would be appreciated greatly!
  7. Thanks so much!! Those are great ideas and I am definitely going to start an acid blocker routine! This is for the birds!
  8. Hey everyone! I have been experiencing a lot of acid reflux lately. I dont know why I thought I wouldnt experience this after surgery but I am. Even when I drink smoothies and healthy stuff I get it. I cant take my pills I used to take before surgery, not sure what to take now. I guess I am back to tums?? Has anyone else experienced this high acid after surgery. I am 7 weeks out.
  9. This is so motivational!!!! Thank you for sharing your pics with us!! I am so pumped to eat a little healthier now! I have been a little off target for the weekend. Need to refocus and drink more water! Thanks!! And Congratulations!
  10. I am in desperate need of a diet coke!! I didn't think it would be this difficult to not drink it but in the last week I have really wanted one. Any advice on the topic? I am 6 weeks out. Thanks in advance!!!
  11. That is exactly how I feel. Like I have to lie down or something!! It is so weird. I don't want to be like this forever. I also have to burp or feel like I have to burp after I eat. So strange! I guess we all have to get through this in order to get to our goal. Listen to our bodies. Just sucks sometimes.
  12. I am hoping that is the case. Sometimes food is too much trouble. I just get these cravings for stuff so I try them out. Just a bite or two and then the feeling hits. That yucky sick feeling like... Ugh I shouldnt have eaten that! So I guess I need to heal more and get farther down the path. Thanks for the advice. I am still learning and finding what works and what doesnt.
  13. How long did it take for you to feel like you could eat normally? Just eat whatever you wanted and not feel gross inside or crampy or anything bad. I keep waiting for that day when I can eat something yummy and in a small portion and not feel pain or sick afterwards. I was sleeved on march 7th.
  14. Oh and Shanny...... Love the Cheesecake Factory!! Glad you enjoyed yourself there!! I will look forward to that too someday.
  15. Thanks for all of your honesty!! Y'all have made me feel so normal!! I thought I was the only one struggling like this. I see now that we all are going through the same feelings and struggles! I am 1 month out and would kill for Whataburger or TexMex!! I know I won't be able to scarf it all down like the past but just to taste it again would be amazing!! I have a question.... I used to go out with friends and drink ritas while eating chips and queso. I guess that is something we can't do now? Eating and drinking really anything at the same time right? That is something I will miss so much! I wish it was something we could do but in moderation. Is it possible?
  16. I was on March 7th too! How are you doing thus far??
  17. I know how you feel. I miss breads so much too! And I am only a month out! I have eatin things that I am not supposed to really be eating lately.... a bite here and a nibble there. Everytime I do it I get this weird feeling inside my stomach. Just like you explained. It is NOT worth it for sure. It is such an awful feeling and then to have to suffer through it for 30 minutes or so is miserable! I have decided not to nibble and pick anymore but strickly stay and do what I am supposed to do. But I do get those cravings for sure! Maybe a year down the road those food will be able to rest easy inside. But I am sure glad we cant tolerate them now because that will help us out in the long run!!!
  18. Cypress, Texas here!!
  19. Hi all. Here is my questions... I am not nearly ready for a drink but do wonder WHAT to drink when I am. Yes I am thinking way ahead I know. Here is my thing... I love Rita's but I am sure the sugar content in them will be terrible for sleevers. Beer you are not supposed to have because of the bubbles or something?? Mixed drinks with juice have sugar in them too. What is safe to drink that wont send you into dumping syndrome? Thanks for any advice yall have!! I just want to make sure that I dont do anything that will cause me to have any problems down the road.
  20. I didnt tell anyone either!! The only person that knows is my DH. Not even my children know. I told work that I was having a hiatal hernia repair and gallbladder out, which is all true. I just left out the sleeve part. I agree. No one needs to know, it is my business. My hubby has been so supportive of me. He didnt think I needed the surgery but knew I wanted it. So he said he would support my decision and help out in whatever I needed to make me happy. He has kept my secret from his family, my family and all our friends. Gotta love that man! Good luck everyone! I am almost at a month sleeved and have lost almost 30 pounds. It is a wonderful tool and you will love it!!
  21. Dazy... Good luck!! You are going to be soo tired!! But I am so confident that they WILL notice!!! Mine did and it was a great feeling!!
