  1. Thanks for responding! Its good to know that it is okay to lose some weight before you lose the surgery. It would be silly to be penalized. Thinking about the 6 months i am feeling that way, getting my head together, and prepared. Plus i can enjoy the summer =) That is great that yours supported your surgery option, i talked to my therapist today and she gave me the pros and cons and tried to see why i wanted it, and at the end she said that it sounded very valid to her, and she is against it.
  2. Hello! I am Amber i am 24, and 236 at the doctors office. (depends on the day) my Bmi is 38. When i talked to blue cross they said i had to have the 6 month or be 50 bmi. So question i have is what happens if you lose a bunch of weight on your doctors diet, will you be disqualified from the surgery? That would break my heart. 5 months in and have them be like well sorry Amber you did so good you don't need it now! (i know it sounds twisted) What sort of questions should i ask my doctor, how should i bring it up to her? She is like a size 0. I see her on Monday. How did u all talk to your doctors? Also note i am on blood thinners, though i read that won't be an issue. Anything else i am missing to ask? Help me out? Thank you all in advance. I can't wait to help someone else out in the future.

  7. Hello! I am Amber! I weigh 240-245 depends on the day. The "smallest" i have ever been was in high school when i was taking diet pills and got down to 160. Now i am on blood thinners, anxiety meds, and going to physical therapy for a misaligned hip( not because of the diet pills ). awesome! In 2008 I was around 180, but then i got about 6 blood clots and could barely walk and gained all of these lovely pounds in a few short months. I looked into gastric bypass and it looked a little too permanent and scary for a 24 year old grad student =) Also if i want to have babies i would like to be able to have my stomach go back to "normal". Can i get a few pros and cons of the Lap Band? Does everyone have to stay 1 night over? i read somewhere that it can be put in and go home an hour later? Thanks -Amber
  8. Thanks for the tip! and good luck to you happy losing!
  9. Thanks for a quick response. Did u have to wait the 6 months? After you find your 'sweet spot' do u stop going in for fills?
