  1. I got sleeved December 14th. What has been the hardest part so far? Not being able to eat what everyone else is eating. The cravings. Not losing as much as i was hoping. I lost 12 pounds pre-op, and 10-12 post-op depends on the day. I am in a stall right now which is frustrating. And my weight keeps shifting 2-3 pounds. What has been the best part so far? My friends reactions to my face weight loss & their support. How is recovery going? It is going fine. I had hardness around a few of the incisions but nothing infected. Most of them seem to be really small and only the big one is really noticeable. Of course to me i see each one. I am trying to stay positive, but i feel down.
  2. 2 weeks liquid pre-op. 2 Weeks liquid post-op. 2 weeks puree. 2 weeks soft.

    Need Encouragement

I am in the same boat and i feel your frustration. I lost 12 pounds pre op, and 10 pounds post and i am at 3 1/2 weeks and at a stall myself. Everyone keeps saying it happens but it is so frustrating. I had a bit more to lose than you so you are doing great!

    Tomorrow Is A New Year... & 3wks Post-op

You and i sound alike! I am a grad student, and i too stalled at my 3 weeks mark!! I thought about buying those shots, i have been using EAS as a filler, but i hate it so i have been mixing it into smoothies. Sorry to hear about your childhood home, that had to be very difficult. I am going to add exercise in the hopes to get my energy level up and the losing going. Happy new year!

    Regret

Tuttle i too felt regret and i did not even make it to 3 months i made it a few days! Missing the food was really bothering me. I am still in the puree phase but i am planning on going to see a therapist to help deal with the loss of my comfort buddy. 60 pounds is nothing to regret about. You can do it tuttle and as previous posters mentioned depression happens because you essentially removed your comfort. Just remember that you can still eat what you like just less and i agree with egg face!! If you want to chat more feel free. Just know you are not alone. Call your surgeons staff and talk about it. This happens with your hormones changing. You made this decision for a reason focus on that. Being healthier, looking and feeling better. You can do this!! You can overcome this depression!

    New And Nervous

Hiya Neighbor! I live in ypsi too! I can't even imagine all of the tragedy you have been through but i think you are making a good decision for you and for your family. You already did an amazing job losing before to get where you are now. The liquid diet is a pain, but it is helping to shrink your liver and get on the road to weight loss. Go you!!!
  7. Hello! I had my surgery done December 14th, and i lost 12 pounds pre-op, and 8 pounds the first week post op and now i have stalled. I have read that it happens but it is really annoying. My surgeon required me on a liquid diet for 1 month. I feel like i should have lost more than 20 pounds. This is going to sound really lame but so far i have regretted this surgery. I just feel like i should have gotten the RNY but i could not because i take coumadin (blood thinner) and the malabsorption would not have processed it correctly. I started at 238 and now i am down to 218. Who gets stalled the second week? I guess i keep wondering if my pouch expanded or what.. I can eat less then i did before but more then i imagined. People talk about *not being hungry* doesn't happen to me, i get hungry all the time. I just fear that since i started the puree phase that the scale won't move. My question for you longer sleevers- when is it okay to drink a bit of alcohol? I am not much of a drinker but with new years coming up i was just wondering.
  8. You all are amazing!! I will hold off on the alcohol and push through this stall. You are right about not comparing myself to others something i have to work on. (obviously!)
  9. Craving something sweet....

  10. True. I am comparing myself to people who had the RNY. I have not been able to see my surgeon yet, he was not in this week so i am seeing them on the 3rd week out. Thanks for the support.

    Food restrictions

I love pine apple what if i puree it? What about the others, and help? Fibrous foods - fibrous foods (such as asparagus, celery, corn, dried fruit, oranges, pineapples, sweet potatoes, nuts, popcorn, skins and seeds of fruits and vegetables, and tough meats such as steak, pork chops, and hamburger.

    Scared

Honey i am nervous and i just started this process. I think it is scary because you are getting surgery which is a big deal, you are having to adapt a new life style. But what you have to remember is that it is all for you. To live a better, happier, healthier, longer life. Plus you are surrounded with support here Good luck and i am jealous! I still have a ways to go!

    Silly Question...

Thank you for asking this i was wondering the same thing. I kept thinking people were spelling WONDERLAND wrong
  17. I talked to a rep from a local bariatric clinic, she told me to have my doctor recheck my height. Before i was 5 foot 6 (or so i thought) i actually am 5 foot 4.5! Before i did not qualify for lap band surgery, but now i do!

    Food restrictions

Okay thank you for your very helpful insight. I know it seems silly but i am a huge fruit feind. =) So the smaller the better.

    Cinnamon

Can i really not have cinnamon. I don't mean the burning kind i mean the kind in pancakes or horchata. I don't care about the pancakes but i LOVE horchata.

    Cinnamon

I was reading on one of the lap band websites and it said many people can't eat cinnamon, spicy foods, etc, etc.
  21. I just read your comment about giving head to your guy who can't ejaculate and i felt like i was reading my own. I saw that it was from 2008, did u make any progress? My guy never has with anyone either. It is really frustrating, i agree.

    Lady parts question

I am only 24 and feel the same way. But i could be how we feel about our bodies before the lap band versus after. Before we are at our wits end with our body and after we have renewed hope. At least that is what i hope i feel when/if i get approved. :/
