  1. The GNC guy didn't know anything about of the product on the wall. Wasn't very helpful and found them to be more expensive. I liked how the lady at Vitamin Shoppe had so much knowledge and they had a larger selection of Protein and Vitamins.
  2. Yesterday to get a head start on things, I first went to GNC which is a total joke, then over to the Vitamin Shoppe. It was by luck the girl working there had the Davinci bypass surgery 2 years ago, lost over 200 pounds, she looked fantastic. Anyway - she told me that my taste will change after surgery and that I probably won't like the taste of anything I try before hand I may like. She did say nectar was the most popular brand of Protein with the Fuzzy Navel flavor being the most popular. She then offered advice about health loss. She told me to go ahead and protein up now and double my Biotin intake to 10000 and take fish oil as well. They have a flavored liquid fish oil like pina colatas. I found their prices to be very reasonable and she advised the chewable and liquid Vitamins at my doctors office are cheaper at the Vitamin Shoppe versus in the doctors office. She was super cool and really helped me line up everything I will need pre and post op. I hope this helps - and if you have any questions you want me to go ask her - let me know.
  3. Right now one 5000 strength and yes I am taking it pre op - Operation day is June 30
  4. Feedyoureye -- Love your name! I knew they shave their head, didn't know why -- interesting :-)
  5. good to know -- is it a tiny needle like a diabetic needle?
  6. A few things: I started this thread to get advice on the situation, not to get attacked or called vain - which if I was so vain and loved myself I wouldn't be getting surgery. I freaked out and have since gotten some pretty good advice on taking Biotin from you guys and making sure I keep up with my Protein. I am having the surgery June 30th so that I can be healthy. Being called vain and assuming I am young is just really silly. I believe I am allowed to freak out a bit. Thank you to those who offered guidance and support.
  7. My surgeon advised I will have to inject into my belly blood thinner for 14 days? Anyone have to do this? Thank you :-)
  8. I start Optifast on June 16 for my two weeks, they are giving me choco, some vanilla and some strawberry. Also chicken and Tomato Soup. Is it awful? Any suggestions of making it tasty? Thank you :-)
  9. I highly recommend Bluepoint Surgical Group - they cover Fairfax, Manassas and Stafford. I am getting sleeved June 30th -- if you have any questions please feel free to send me an email. I have really like his office and staff.
  10. we have the same date!!! YAY I am nervous but getting super excited.
  11. June 30th is the official day I will be sleeved. Super excited and started taking biotrin in advance to avoid this hairloss thing. I am so excited, never thought the date would get here.
  12. BC/BS Fed was fast like a one day turnaround. I do not have a surgery date yet - but this is super exciting.
  13. Natural Layers - I like - or there is always the Real Housewife of Atlanta Kim look -- get one of her wigs haha
  14. Valentina - you put nice. There is a way to respond to someone, instead of berating them. Yes I passed my mental evaluation. I have been doing a lot of research about the hair thing. I am allowed one freak out :-) Thank you though :-)
  15. True, I am just freaking out and venting - I have Biotin and will start taking it. Jealous of long red hair :-) Red hair is so pretty.
  16. WOW - could you be anymore rude? Did I say it was a quick fix? Do you know me? NO Leave the nasty comments to yourself.
  17. some questions -- how bad is it coming out? Are you taking the directed Vitamins? Are you taking Biotin?
  18. I'm a blonde not natural so I'm afraid I'm going to look like sinead LOL Just a selfish worry
  19. I'm seriously thinking about not doing this surgery. I can't deal with That.
  20. Yesterday in my last Nutrition class they were talking about hair loss after surgery. My hair is one of my best assets and I have to say I am a tad freaked out about it thinning or losing it. Is it temporary? Any solutions to prevent? Thanks
  21. Yesterday I had my required dietician visit and exercise evaluation. Tomorrow I have my last required nutrition class required by insurance, then they submit the approval and then its the waiting game. I do like how my Doctors practice had the personal trainer included with the program - I am pretty sore today from exercising. They really promote exercise before the surgery to assist with recovery and elasticity. I can always scan the exercise sheet they gave me in the event anyone on the board wants it. I just want to get this surgery over and start being more healthy and wear cute dresses. Just feels like it is dragging. Thanks for the vent.
  22. absolutely find another doctor..........I would have walked out way before the end of the appointment. Good Luck - there is a good doc out there.
