    Husband I forgot about him

I'll say a prayer for you, good luck
  2. Thanks I will try adding peanut butter, I tried adding fruit did not help matters at all.
  3. I thought it was a good idea to buy the Celebrate chocolate Multivitamin Protein powder Vitamins and protein all in one shake great right....NOT. I'm almost done with the large container that I purchased online, and what has been helping me recently is that I now add 4 oz of hot decaf coffee to the mix it takes away the strong Vitamin smell. I can not wait until I finish this container...UGGGGH! Anyway thanks for letting me vent, is anyone else tired of the Protein shakes?

Just reading your post made want to tell your co workers off, why when your over weight everyone has an opinion. Hang in there, hopfully their attitudes will change after your surgery. Good Luck

    KETOSIS

Hello! Went to the drugstore today to buy ketosis strips to find out if I was in ketosis, I am. Okay do anyone have any suggestions on how to handle the bad breath? When my nutrionist put me on the post modified fast which put me into ketosis pre-op I could chew sugarless gum, I read that after WLS surgery chewing gum can fill your stomach with air. Does anyone know how long this Ketosis last? Should I just wait to see if this pass. When I return to work I do not want to have bad breath I work with a small group and we meet in a small conference room. Any advice would be truly appreciated. Thanks

    KETOSIS

Lisa and Tiff Thanks for the suggestions, I'm 4 weeks out and I have just started adding some carbs it's nice to know this will go away soon.
  7. Vicki, you're not alone I thought the same after week 3, but now I'm losing again I've also increased my walking to 45 mins a day. Don't focus on others weight loss it will drive you crazy just focus on following what your surgeon and nutrionist have said and you will do fine. No worries it will get better, chin up.

  10. Sorry to hear about your ut, I'm glad you went to see a doctor. If you keep a daily fluid journal this could help with your your fluid intake or use containers that measure your fluid ounces this may help as well. I walk around the house with a 20 oz drinking bottle I fill it three times a day and I take it with me everywhere. I hope this helps and you feel better soon!
  11. Good Luck! Tomorrow;)
  12. I'm fourteen days out from being sleeved......my question how to handle Thursday? My mom and sisters know I've been sleeved but we are going over my aunts house for dinner and she is easily insulted if you do not try her different dishes. I think I'm going to fake the flu and stay home because I have two cousins that I do not want to know I had WLS both have had the RNY and have gained all of their weight back and then some. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can handle my family? They are going to ask questions if I do not eat my favorite pumkin pie.............or should I stick to my fake sick plan...lol:rolleyes: Thanks for any suggestions

  14. I did the same thing prior to my surgery and I've been sleeved fourteen days now. What helped me was I increased my Water by the gallons and excercised more at the gym. After my surgery my doctor told me my liver was perfect and everything went very well. PLEASE TRY NOT to make this mistake again you should be fine. I hope this helps:rolleyes:

    Sleeved on 11/9/10!

I'm having trouble with my liquids, so I've been eating sugar free popsicles they have been a lot easier to get down. And I sip water all day long right up to my bed time so far I'm getting down 16 oz of water since coming home from the hospital last Monday. Also I've noticed sipping water helps with the very full feeling. I hope this helps, I wish you much success in your recovery.
  17. Hey I'm on full liquids as well to control my calories I have made all my Soups. The one I'm drinking now has 35 cals per serving and 21 grams of Protein. All you need is a crock pot, also try V8 light warmed in the microwave 50 cals and add unjury chicken soup Protein powder thats 150 cals. with 21 grams of protein. And as far as taste my husband ate a bowl of the creamy potatoe then told me it taste to good to be diet and he could not taste the protein powder at all. In regards to the yogurt it keeps getting stuck in my throat, so I've decided to try yogurt a little later in my journey I'm only 8 days post op. Let me know if you want to try any of my high protein low cal. soup recipes I will be happy to share.

Good Luck I pray for a speedy recovery
  19. Hello Everyone! I was sleeved this week Monday November 8th and today was my first full day home from the hospital. While in the hospital I had a few what have I done moments, especially during my upper GI the tech was trying to force me to drink 5 oz of Fluid with a staw next day after surgery. My first 3 sips made my stomach hurt really bad it's like I could feel my stomach fill with air each sip I took. It was awful, but once testing was done I had no leaks thank God and I made sure I told my surgeon what happened during my upper GI and he was not happy about it at all. Right after my upper GI the male nurse from hell told me to get up and walk even after I explained the amount pain I was in after my test and that I had already walked the floor twice that morning he just explained that they saw me walking but know one documented my time so I had to do it again and kindly told him to step off. In the end he forced me to to get out of the bed so I walked exactly five steps from my room turned arounded and walked backed and demanded my pain killer. The head nurse Cindy was really nice to me and after I explained to her that I had been moving and taking myself to the bathroom it was just the pain from my upper she understood and gave me my pain meds. I also informed her that nurse man from hell had not changed my sheets and I had been setting in chair all day long this was on Tuesday he did not change the bed untill Wednesday afternoon and I was discharged Weds. evening which was fine because I got up and change the bed myself. Other than nurse man from hell my hospital stay was find, I did everything I needed to do to go home. My first full day home has been crazy I have not been hungry so I put a chart together to track my full liquids I was only able to take in 25 grams of Protein today I did go outside and walk twice 10 mins each time it was really a nice fall day. I wanted this so badly and I do not want to mess anything up any long timers or newbies out there who have any pointers for me it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for allowing me to vent while providing my summary of the start of my new journey.
  20. Hello Everyone, After fighting for 2 years to get sleeved I'm 6 days away from my surgery date and now I'm nervous. I watched nightline Monday, Oct. 25th which did not calm me down at all, first they made me angry with the statement "no diet or excercise, they've turned to surgery" I've not worked this hard in my life training my mind about portions, going to the gym three times a week and after surgery your "diet" changes even more leading to your weight loss. I hate news reports that make it seem that obese people are so lazy they had to create a RADICAL procedure in order for us to loss weight. Anyway after yelling at the television, I watched the actual surgery this did not help my nervousness and it freaked my husband out a little as well. To watch someone having their stomach removed really drove home how permanant this procedure is and how important it is for me focus after my surgery. I thought I was on a emotional roller coaster fighting to have surgery, now I see that was nothing compared to all the feelings you have the closer it gets to your surgery. This is why I'm really happy that I've found this forum, I get the encouragement that I need and the calm knowing others have felt the same as I have. Thanks again for letting me vent, while typing this post I could feel my nervousness slip away.
  21. Thanks Dennis, I will keep you in my prayers Thursday.
  22. Thank you for the kind words, my 10 yr. old is still trying to figure this out she understood my hysterectomy because I was always in pain. While preparing for surgery I'm the healthiest now then I've ever been 10lbs lost, working out 3x a wk, with that said my poor daughter is even more confused....lol
  23. Hey congrats on the 30lb weight loss, I'm set to have surgery Nov. 8th and I can not wait. Now that I have a date I'm starting to second quest myself, I know this is the right thing for me but I'm still scared. Not scared enough to cancel, just worried that I might mess up.
