Although I'm not sure how you would gain weight on a liquid diet, tell your friend starting today to follow all of her surgeons instructions and focus on drinking tons of Water. I was not weighed the day of my surgery, but they do want your liver as small as possible and I've heard of surgeons stopping the surgery if things to do not look right when they go in.

pro's / con's to being honest about having surgery
YOLANDA240 replied to newmefeb8's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's been 3 months since I was sleeved and prior to surgery I only told two co-workers and I did not tell my mom or sisters until I was in my room recovering at the hospital only because I knew my family was going to be very negative and I only wanted positive thoughts going into surgery. Like you I'm a terrible liar so I thought after surgery if any would ask about my weight I would tell them the truth. So back to your question, my mom was more supportive then I thought she would be and my sisters were very happy for me so I wish I would have told them sooner. My disadvantage came when I returned to work and one of the co-workers I told about my surgery spread it through out the office, I thought I could trust her. Now I'm the topic of conversation at work with statements "like she cheated" and "she was not that big in the first place." So my advice would be tell your family and friends when your comfortable, but expect everyone to have an opinion positive and negative. Hope this helped, good luck with your upcoming surgery -

YOLANDA240 replied to vicki s's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Vicki it was explained to me by my surgeon that the higher your bmi the more weight you will loss in the first two months, those with a lower bmi may loss weight slower. Maybe speak to your nutrionist regarding your food intake and calorie intake. -
So sorry for your loss, I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Please continue to sip your fluids and get in your protein you will need this in order to have the strength to make it through this troubling time.

YOLANDA240 replied to shaundra's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello Shaundra, I'm sorry that your depressed I struggle with depression and I completly understand the not having energy to play your daughter. Maybe you should save your money and go see a therapist the specializes in depression caused by weight issues. Then when you feel better about live and yourself have your revision surgery (hopfully this will also give you more time to save more money) My husband and I struggled after my surgery with finances and it was not fun at all and caused me to become more depressed about my decision to have my sleeve. We are still struggling but I will be returing to work soon and the money will not be and issue, all I can say is struggling with your finances after this type of surgery for me took away the joy of my weightloss. I hope this helps you with your decision and if your reglious may I suggest you pray or talk to your minister. Take Care -

One week post sleeve and new to forum
YOLANDA240 replied to Linda121010's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello and Welcome! I was sleeved Nov. 8th and by my 3rd week I had alot of head hunger. I know this is hard, for you but the head hunger will pass. When I have extreme head hunger I find some busy work to do around the house ie polish my nails, pull out my sewing machine or go for a walk at the mall looking at the the smaller clothing stores which helps me focus on why I had this surgery in the first place. I promise the head hunger will pass and you also have someting I do not have you're blessed with a husband who has gone through this and can give you support. My husband supports me, but does not understand head hunger at all he Snacks all day long which is the reason that I sometimes go the mall. I hope this helps -
