It probably just slid through - and yeah that sucks to kind of "wake up" and realize that... Some old habits are so tenacious!!!
I bet the toasty crispy bit reminded your brain to chew thoroughly - more so than with plain bread - and that made it easier to go through.
Breathe, forgive yourself (but don't forget), and face tomorrow. Calorically it's not the end of the world... And you know the rest.

dargar27 reacted to karenb4729 in I Am Terrified Of Losing My Hair!
I lost a lot of my hair when I was 31 and going through Chemo. At that time I learned that I would never complain about a bad hair day and in the end, my hair came back better than every and it's been 23 years that I have been cancer free.
I was just sleeved last week and if I lose hair, well I lose hair and stlll will be healthier with the weight and Hair loss than I would be if I didn't get sleeved and kept the weight on. Its all about priorities. .

dargar27 got a reaction from imanokie in Shoulder pain after surgery
I know this will sound odd, and it might be TMI, but when I had my C Section I had similar pain. It was awful, achy, and truly kept me awake at night. The nurse gave me some great advice that honestly helped. Lay down on your bed on your tummy and stick your booty up in the air sort of like a baby would sleep, you know? Rock back and forth and just stay there in that position for awhile. The nurse explained that the gas has no place to go, so by sticking your booty in the air, it helps give it another place to go and will relieve the pressure off your neck and shoulders. Sounds totally weird but it really did help me, at least I think so...lol Can't hurt to try, right? Good luck!

dargar27 reacted to Escape_Pod in Really Scared, Don't Have That Same "non Hungry" Feeling...
I'm six months out, and my hunger never went away entirely, though it's not as bad as it used to be pre-op. The last few weeks I've been hungry more often, and I'm also finding it's more important for me to make sure I'm eating dense Protein. I had tuna and cottage cheese for lunch yesterday and it really didn't keep me satisfied for very long. On the other hand, I had one of my favorite dinners last night - a couple of turkey meatballs with a bit of Tomato sauce and lf cheese. I could only eat 1.5 of the meatballs.
It's easy to get off track with temptations at the holidays, but if you go back to watching your carbs and focusing on dense protein, you can get to goal! Congratulations on your progress! I replaced my size 10s with size 8s a couple of weeks ago too - it's a fabulous feeling, isn't it?

dargar27 got a reaction from Day Dreamer in 5 Days Post Op Issues
    Hey Day Dreamer!
I also had my surgery on June 6th. I'm so sorry you're having some issues. I was having a lot of trouble getting Water down too and still don't really like it, odd as that sounds. I bought some Vitamin Waters and Sobe Lifewaters and drink them at room temp. That seems to help me.
Also, not sure if you've ever had a c-section, but try to use a pillow against your tummy every time you stand or attempt to roll out of bed. The pressure helps a lot with the soreness in your tummy.
Hope all gets better, and keep posting! Take care,
    Darlene
