    NO COFFEEE POST OP

My surgeon had no problem with coffee at all and I was able to get all liquids in from the get-go. I drink my standard 1-2 cups/daily and then get going on the water. I'm 10 weeks out. But I had coffee probalby 3 days after surgery with no problems.....

    OMG MY NECK

Hey-----get a People magazine and look at all the super models and stars. You look great!
  4. You are probably as normal as normal can be for having had this procedure. Every day is going to be easier, I promise! I used a toddler sippy cup and just held onto it all day! I took it for little walks in the yard and around the house I had them everywhere. I didn't worry about the 64 oz for a week or so----just sipped all I could all day. Don't worry quite so much! Just rest, sip and stroll and each day will be easier and easier. Try not to do the negative self-talk. After all, it is a done deal! Think of the clothes you'll be fitting into, the thinner face and "look" you'll have, and DREAM about it! It's so wonderful once the results starting showing up! And they will VERY soon! Be good to yourself. And those are my pearls of wisdom!

    four days post op

congratulations to you! Every day now will be easier and easier. After surgery day, I never needed anything for pain and I didn't have gas pain either. I did have some bp ups and downs. Just sip and walk and you'll be stronger and happier every day!

    Coffee

I've had NO restrictions with coffee and at 9 weeks out, no problems with my usualy 1-2 cups each morning. All doctors are indeed different!

    Hypothyroidism

I have hypo-thyroidism, too, and have lost about 26 lbs since surgery 8 weeks go. I can't complain a bit. I haven't started truly working out yet either, so I don't even think about my thyroid slowing things down at all. My surgery group explained that this surgery would help rev everything up!

    feelin sad :(

I think you're so normal in your thinking about all of this. Just press on. I'm almost 8 weeks out and nothing is off-limits to eat or enjoy. Just a smaller amount. I thought I had to have something gooey about 5 days out and my surgeon said to go ahead and try mac and cheese if I craved it. Well, one bite and that was that. You can have anything in time and I promise you'll get used to the small amounts. Your food bill will be so much less! I did it alone. I had friends take me to the hospital and pick me up. One stayed a night at home but I didn't need her at all. You're doing this for yourself and just think of it as a private event that you'll have peace and quiet to recover from. You have a bazillion friends on the site and we'd be there if we could. I'm in TN and don't travel a lot. So sorry! Have the cute surgeon hold your hand, you silly woman! You'll be fine. I just know it. It's SO FANTASTIC TO REAP THE REWARDS!~ giant clothes out the door. BP meds GONE. In a few weeks you'll be so proud of yourself. I'll be thinking of you and wishing all good things for you!

    High Blood Pressure Pre-Op??

That is not particularly high bp! Mine with meds was higher than that for surgery, then it went down the next week and my pcp had me quit meds altogether. It's gone up and down and seems to be evening out at about 125/80 or so for now. Could you go to a walk-in clinic? Seems kind of nuts your doctor can't help you out! My bariatric surgeon didn't want to deal with the bp either. I can understand that. good luck to you!
  12. I carry a tiny plastic container of almonds in my purse. I also do not leave home without lots of Water.
  13. I'd sure go back to soft and only healthy foods for a few more weeks. I couldn't begin to eat that much and I'm 7 weeks out. I had a baked potato and fishsticks but again, at 7 weeks. I could never have eaten what you did at 4 weeks. Back on the wagon you go!
  14. Holy Moly! those pictures are just wonderful! You make me smile!!!!!
  15. There is much joy at my house when cleaning out closets, which I seem to be needing to do about every 3 weeks! Yardsale coming up and I have a full rack of nice clothes. I was in retail for 20 years so I have loads waiting for me to fit into them. THIS IS A BLAST! Congrats to you! think what it will be like after surgery! OH MY!!!
  16. I think you're fine. My weight hit a huge stall around 3 weeks and not until I ate more and drank more did it budge again. I think it's not good to pay that much attention to the really speedy losers because it is a downer to compare if your body is a bit slower. I'm thinking we all will lose the weight in time if we just do what we're told to do! Good luck to you----and congrats on 20. I'm 7 weeks out and have lost about 24.

    Jello Shots Anyone?

I just cut my one pill in half and had no trouble at all----from the get-go.
  18. Sounds as if you're doing quite well! I started feeling LOW on energy around 3 weeks. some of it was lower bp but once I upped real food-----more seafood and a little salt and more Water I felt a lot better. Even a Gatorade few sips helped. I could pretty much eat a whole egg from the get-go----add a little melted cheese to a scrambled egg, try Jimmy Dean turkey sausage----microwave 1 minute and it's very soft!
  19. I'm looking at it soon and will be just as pleased as you are when that time comes! I might have to throw a party for myself! congrats~!
  20. I'm 7 weeks out and don't need it at all! Just taking it until it runs out.....

    ugh surgery postponed

You'll be good as new and ready for surgery very soon. At least it was a quick fix and you'll be on the losers' side in no time!

    Surgery Cancelled

I'VE NEVER HEARD THAT. Many many have acid reflux and go ahead with the surgery. And if it's a hiatel hernia they go ahead as well! I'd just go find another doctor. You've had all the tests and that should be easy for one to schedule a sleeve surgery for you! Good luck to you!

    Bumped Back to thin liquidd

Well, I lost 17 in 17 days after surgery and have been stuck at about 21 pounds lost in 6 weeks! Talk about a stall! I'm upping the Water and exercise after feeling so bad with lower bp. Getting better and stronger every day. A size is gone and I know it'll drop off eventually, but weighing isn't very exciting already!

    Wish me luck!

The fact that you've posted anything is good news! IT's over! Take pain meds. I love them and didn't need them! So, my bottle sits on the shelf. If you just follow the rules and do not sway from them, it will ALL FALL INTO PLACE. Get some sunshine when you can and just sip and stroll and sip and stroll. Sounds like a decent recovery to me!

    BEYOND ANGRY!!!

It's okay to be mad and vent. My friend here who had surgery in April just got out of the hospital with a little hole in her sleeve. So she's back at square one eating-wise and is seemingly making the best of it. That's all you can do------time will help, your dr. will help, and you were thrown a curve. I'm feeling lousy with lower bp and have doubts at times about what I've done, but it's just 6 weeks out for me. Time is a great healer. Every day just do what you know you're supposed to do with the orders from your doctor. Take it slowly. Good luck with Mister Mean Manager but suck up to him, too. Just know better days are coming up because they ARE COMING UP! You're not the first to have problems and it will get better!
