  1. I am 2 days post op. I have not had any gas pain and the incision sites are sore but not unbearable. I have to be on Clear Liquids for 5 days before I move to full liquids, this morning my stomach has been growling like an angry lion, don't know how I am going to survive 5 days, I am going to go out today maybe to the mall just to keep my mind off food.< /p>

I am glad everyone is recovering well.

  2. My surgery was yesterday and I honestly had a really good experience the surgeon and staff at the slimband clinic were great. I was done at about 2pm and was back at my hotel room @ 5pm. I have no gas pain at all (touch wood). The pain from the surgery itself is very minimal and I only get them when I try to sit or stand. I slept really well only woke up once to take painkillers. So far so good, I pray that the rest of my journey is as easy as this. I have only had Water and a glass of apple juice since the surgery and I am noy hungry. In the airport right now on my way home to start a brand new life.

Wishing all of you yet to be banded all the best.

  3. Well it's day 2 and I'm still alive....sore as hell though! Surgery went just fine except my liver was still very swollen. Dr. K told my husband that it wasn't my fault, he thinks I probably should have started the pre-op diet earlier. But everything went smoothly.

I only had gas pains through last night, now they seem to be gone (keeping fingers crossed) and the only soreness is my stomach. I sleep about 3 hours, wake up for an hour, go back to sleep for a few hours. I did try drinking some chicken broth yesterday and promptly threw it up (which was not fun) so I'm sticking with juices and Water and popsicles for now.

Spot is in surgery as we speak, I hope everything is goin fine for her! Also for CarerJem and EastEnd. Good luck, I'm thinkng about you all!

I am happy to hear that everything went well. I am wishing u a very quick recovery. I am in the airport right now on my way to Toronto for my surgery tomorrow and I am seriously freaking out. I have been going through a whole range of emotions in the last couple of days. But I have to have faith that all will be well. (Ake care I will keep u postedm

  4. I am 31 years old married for 5 years no kids yet (one of the major reasons i want to loose weight). Like some of you i am like an Amazon next to my husband, he is also one of those very skinny people that can eat anything he wants and not put on weight, one of my aha moments was when we went somewhere together and someone thought i was his mother ( I wanted the ground to open and swallow me).

My surgery is scheduled for the 7th of April. I am on day of 9 of my pre-op diet, have been battling with daily headaches but today is not as bad as day 1 so i guess it gets better. i am down 5 lbs so far, not as much as i want but it is still better than nothing. I am also really scared of the lifestyle change especially the two things that keep coming up from reading the board 1. Chew your food properly 2. Eat slowly. I am going to have a big issue with this cos i eat really fast usually in less than 7 mins and i hardly ever chew my food properly! i have a lot of learning to do.

I really do hope that the lap band is the solution to my problem cos i honestly cant wait to start a family, i have been so depressed this last month cos every single weekend there was either a friend's baby shower or baby dedication to attend.

I am glad i have this group for support and i cant wait to start this new phase of my life.

  5. I felt horrible for the first 4 days of the pre-op liquid diet, the headaches were really bad, but i think that was just our body reacting to the drastic change, by the 5th day i was feeling much better. today is my 8th day and it only gets better everyday you will see.

Okay so yesterday was day1 of my pre-op diet. I kept to it all day, by the time I got home from work, I had a severe head ache and I was shaking like mad. I have never felt so hungry in my life. I caved and ate 2 hard boiled eggs, I felt a little better, but still shaky hands. I sure hope I can make it through my liquid died and not have to cave on some solids but I did not in anyway like how I felt yesterday.

So far today, have had about 24 ounces of Water, 32 oz of unsweetened fresh brewed ice tea, 8 oz yogurt, and now eating a bowl of Tomato Soup for lunch. The headache is already starting and I sure hope I dont have the uncontrollable shaky hands by the time I get home tonight.

Anyone else ever feel like this?

  6. When i started reading about lap band surgery 2 things i found people complained the most post op was gas and pain. Initially I thought the gas was in the bowels or intestine, i was shocked to learn that the gas can actually be in the shoulders and other parts of the body, how uncomfortable is the gas, how intense is the pain, how long does it last and what have you found to make it better, i have heard people talk about gas x and heat pads; ow effective are they.

I know i am asking a lot of questions but I just want to be prepared as my surgery is scheduled for the 7th of April.

  7. I am scheduled to have my surgery on the 7th April in a city about a 4 hour flight away from where i live. I booked my flight to leave on the 6th and come back on the 8th. I was wondering if it is okay for me to fly a day after surgery , does it make the pain or nausea worse? I want to know so that if i have to reschedule my return date i can do that.

    Thank you
