  1. I struggle with BM since surgery. I started taking two fiber gummies a day (they are my toddlers) and they seem to help. I burp pretty regularly but it's not a nuisance. I will tell you that today I just tried a new protein shake. It's the AMP from GNC w/60mg of protein per 3 scoops. Since trying that this morning I have been farting like mad! Something in the protein shake made me so gassy. I'm going to take it back and return it. Is it possible something in your diet like your protein shake is having that reaction in you as well? Just something to consider.

    This Friday--Banding--VERY nervous

Definitely felt the same mix of emotions. All the way up until they wheeled me to the operating room. I wanted to jump off the table and change my mind at one point. I think from reading this forum it is pretty normal to feel this way.

    Feeling Super Sneaky

LOL. I'm surprised none of them have asked you what is going on. Good luck with your sneakiness!

    Wake up with no band!!!!

Wow what an ordeal! I can't even imagine losing my band. It's so new to me but it feels like a security blanket or something. Glad you have the option to get bypass if necessary. I wish you the best of luck. I hope you can maintain or continue to lose without it!
  6. Well I'm not super proud to admit this but, I actually ate a couple pieces of thin crust pizza last night. Splurged. Did fine but felt like crap. I've got 5.5cc's in my band and am 2 months post op. Everything I have says specifically no bread, rice, pasta. But I ate it and was fine. Just chewed it up good. I also had a dinner roll today. Easter has been rough for me. Back to working on eating right tomorrow though.

    Where are you today?

That's quite a story. glad you are getting back on track and I wish you the best of luck getting help with your fills when your current insurance runs out. I have the same fear about doing core workouts. Even though I'm almost 2 months out now I still feel the need to stay away from working out my abdomen. I'm currently at a plateau. Going on 3 weeks now I've been at 29-30lbs lost. I need a fill but can't get in until the middle of next month. I've been having a hard time with head hunger and with all the candy around right now for Easter it's making it even harder. I'll be glad when I can get rid of all this junk that is taunting me and get another fill to help me get back on track.

    feeling of something in throat

I sometimes feel like something is caught in my throat when I eat too fast. But it seems like stuff shouldn't be backed up like that if you're just eating mushies. I know you're not suppose to drink when you eat but my doc told me it was ok to sip if I needed to rinse something down or if I was out and just wanted to feel like I'm having a normal meal with everyone else. So that's what I do when I get that feeling like something is in my throat. I just take a quick sip to rinse whatever it is. Not sure this is what's happening to you but in case it helps.
  9. I also get it when I've eaten too much.

Protein - how much is enough?

U know this week I decided to trade my 52g of Isopure (bored, taste) for 20g of this stuff called Dessert protein (by the same company that makes Syntha 6) and I have been STARVING! I went back to Isopure today and had a much better day. Totally makes sense. Thanks for sharing.

    my band slipped

Ew, how scary. I hope everything gets fixed easily for you when your doc gets back. Hope you reach your goal so something good comes out of this difficult situation you're in!

    Surgery Tomorrow and scared!

I don't feel my band. If I eat until I'm too full I get a little pain where I imagine it is but that's the only time. I actually forget it's there now. And right after surgery I was just sore all over from the incisions not the band itself. I can lay on my stomach on a pillow and on either side with no pain or problems. Good luck tomorrow!

    Skinny Bucket List

    1. buy some sexy clothes and lingerie 2. Buy and wear a bikini 3. Get a bikini wax. Oh my goodness that one scares me though. Too shy. Maybe I won't be when I'm thinner. 4. Cut my hair in a trendy way that only looks good on skinny people 5. Train and participate in a marathon or 1/2 marathon first I guess.
  16. I had a friend who had hyper hydrosis. She started getting botox on her hands because she couldn't even shake hands in business situations or hold a guys hand on a date. I remember after she got it done she had to use a lot of lotion. She had never in her life experienced dryness. I think she got her underarms done too. And I thought she said insurance paid for it. But I'll have to double check that with her.

What a great story! Well, except for the part about losing one of your babies. So sorry to hear that! But thank you for sharing your story and for having the courage to post that before pic. You look amazing!

    Being Vain

You deserve it! We all deserve to be a little vain after all we've been through. For so long I've felt old, ugly, fat, and HOPELESS. Now I am looking in the mirror and seeing the young beautiful me and I feel fantastic. Can't help but be excited about it.

    Popcorn Pain

I'm not sure I understand what exactly happened with the popcorn. Did it get stuck or did it just irritate the band? I wonder if nuts would do the same thing. I've been eating almonds lately a a lot.
  20. I had a hiatal hernia repair also. I used the prescription pain meds for a week. Every four hours for the first 5 days. I also broke out in a rash around my incisions. They started to itch after a couple of weeks so I started putting neosporin on them and taking benedryl. My surgeon said I was having an allergic reaction to the "mycins" in the neosporin. However you're the second person I have read about having broke out in a rash. The other lady said she didn't use neosporin. I had to keep taking benedryl oral and lathering on either aveeno oatmeal cream or cortisone (nothing added). It took over a month to clear up! Even spread under my breasts.

    Wrapping My Brain around this

I drink water pretty quickly. I don't think you should worry about that. You can't gulp a lot of water when you eat but if you're working out or something and can drink you can still drink it at a decent pace. Well at least that's my experience. As for chomping down a huge bite of food, I don't think you will miss that. I still eat hamburger but I just put it on the plate and eat a small bite at a time. I find that I'm savoring my food and really enjoying each bite longer than scarfing a bite down as fast as I can (which I used to do). I actually watch my husband eat like that next to me and can't get over how he eats like he's never going to eat again. It's actually a little annoying to me. But husband do that. They can be annoying. LOL. I don't know about the how long the band can stay in. I thought it could be in for life as long as there or no problems but then watched Dr. Oz and got scared like it had to be replaced every 10 years or so. Even if that is the case I don't regret getting it. I've lost 30lbs in 6 weeks pre/post op and feel pretty good. I can eat a lot of things I didn't think I would be able to again. And the stuff I worried I'd miss I just don't even care about anymore. Good luck to you!
