    Got Milk!

THANK YOU! I too became lactose intolerant and can't stand the Lactaid. Muscle Milk is good, I've tried it.
  2. So hubby and I are having a romantic getaway in the lovely town of Reno....the place where dreams get shattered! my dilemma is there is food everywhere here! Fuzzy (DH) has been eating like an ox and I keep having these feelings like I want to keep up. Time now to hit the breakfast buffet =( Just a vent, because for the first time since surgery I'm actually missing food =(
  3. Thank you for the supportive reply. I got home and steped on the scale and couldn't believe my eyes! I actually LOST 3 pounds! I did really good. Eating only protein and brought some pre mixed shakes. At our "romantic dinner" I only had a few pieces of the antipasti and the seared sea scallops. In the morning at the buffet breakfast, I loaded a plate FULL! I felt horrible because I only ate one bite of each item I chose. I did try to cut small portions off. I always hate wasting food. We always had a rule in my family, "WASTE NOT WANT NOT" but I have to let that go. Thanks again for your response =)
  4. My problem is Mineral Water. Not soda...I love my Pelligrino and Apollinaris! =( I also love Champagne more than any other cocktail. I'm too scared to try any of it yet. But maybe I'll test a sip soon.

    Body Sculpting or No?

I'm not totally there yet, but I can understand the dilema. I have a friend who is small and she's had 3 kids. We are both talking about our "tummy tucks" when I get down to goal =) She showed me her loose skin and I can imagine that is what I'm gonna look like. I don't think lipo will do it for me....a lil' tuck and pull maybe. I don't think it's being vain. I think you worked really hard to get to where you are at! Lucky you! My only concern when I get there is I have a good surgeon. I remember reading about Tara Reid's bad tummy tuck in People magazine years ago I don't know what she had, but I remember reading it was "lumpy"
  9. mine was due the day of surgery, didn't come till 4 days after, but the next month it was like clockwork on the 21st. this month..I started today the 18th. My curse is the same as it's always been =)
  10. congrats again on your news...I was jumping up and down when I went from "morbidly obese" to obese =) keep up the good work!

    keeping ur stomach?

My stomach is something I'd rather forget and leave behind. The thought of keeping it for memories is just a little to dark for me to even think about.
  15. If you are still on clears and liquids yes. I was the same way. You aren't eating anything solid so there's nothing solid to come out. Liquids in liquids out.

    bad taste

I agree with Rootman...ketosis. I went through it too. You can buy the ketostix if you are unsure.
  17. ME TOO! I have a huge shiner on my face and one under my chin! I have fantastic skin and now I have a crazy cyclops going on!
  18. I have an Ipod Tough and bought a great nutrition tracker that I can take with me everywhere. If you have an IPhone or any "smartphone" you can look for a nutrition tracker app. It works great for me! Good Luck =)
  19. Me too, I had Dr. Aceves and he left mine open. I had surgery on 1-21-11 and its completely closed and actually shrinking! I've been putting Mederma on it religiously to help it fade better. P.S. Dr. Aceves is awesome! I had absolutely no pain with any part of my surgery and even though I'm tattooed, I'm a big wimp with needles, stitches, surgery, etc. !!! hahaha
  20. just wanted to say thanks for all your fantastic encouaging advice/comments. I enjoy reading your posts!

    ? For the women

mine was due the day of my surgery. Didn't come till 3 days after surgery and was a little lighter. Then it came like clock work this month to the exact day it was supposed to come last month.
  22. :oBe careful with MiraLAX. I almost died from it last Thursday...no joke. My throat closed from the main ingredient that I didn't know I was allergic to. Ask your doctor even if it's something as simple as an OTC med.
  23. So I've never been allergic to any medications my entire life. I've tried tons of laxatives and stool softeners before. Even as a dieting fad. So I haven't had a BM in a couple of days and decided what the heck, I've read on the forums to try MiraLAX. I take a half cap full to try. I thought the whole cap looked HUGE. Within 5 minutes I started to get shortness of breath and within 25 minutes my body was broke out in welted hives burning and itching BAD! My breaths were getting worse and DH told me to swallow a Benedryl and put my clothes on. We packed up our 4 y/o Thor and headed to Kaiser ER. They immediately put me on IV and administered an EPI pen right above my heart. Now if you don't know what this is...it's a powerful adrenaline shot they hold with 2 raised hands and powerfully jab into you. Like in that movie Pulp Fiction when the chick O.D.'s!!!!!!! My throat was closing! I thought I was going to die! They then put liquid Zantac and nausea meds in my IV. I felt better so I had Fuzzy (DH) take Thor home...poor guy. My blood pressure was super low as well. They kept me for 6 hours. Needless to say at 3AM I was dischargerd sent home with Predisone, Benedryl, Zantac, and an extra EPI pen just incase I need to self administer another shot....UGH! So my point is, sometimes it sounds so easy to hear/read that taking this OTC drug as simple as a stool softner is o.k. I almost learned a hard lesson with my life. Thanks to Fuzzy's fast thinking. The RN's said him giving me that Benedryl saved me some time. I didn't even want to go! I thought it would pass! I now know after I came home and read the back of the MiraLAX that I'm allergic to "Polyethylene Glycol" and if you don't know.......please folks find out first!
