  1. I just started crossfit I'm June. I'm still completing my beginner classes and my son is doing it with me. We are both sore but are loving it so far. I think it will be adicting. I also went out and bought my own kettlebell to do some stuff at home...

I just did a body fat test today and was not happy with the results. I was at 30 percent. I am about 17 lbs from goal, which I have gained about 8 lbs in the last few months. Which is why I joined crossfit. I need to get my body fat down to the lower 20s. I hope this crossfit helps!!

  2. I didn't really rely on my hubby for that much. It was something I needed to do for myself so I went to the seminar and came home and told him what I was going to do. 4 weeks later, I had him drop me off at the hospital and told him I would call him when I was ready to be picked up.

We have a pretty strong marriage and he is happy for me that I am happy with myself now. It's been almost two years now and we are still as tight as ever. He's only complaint is that I am way to into clothes now. I have taken over the entire closet. He has to share with our son now...

  3. I woke up last night feeling very nauseous and looked pale and felt dizzy. I had some of those anti-nausea melts from the hospital and took one right away. It seemed to help. Still had a stomach ache but didn't feel the need to throw up. Took another one this morning.

Just wondering if this helped with anyone else and did it make your flu last longer cause you couldn't throw up? Im wondering if I should try some Protein Shakes to get something in me or just wait it out. Don't feel like eating :-)

First time in almost two years with the stomach flu.

  4. This is probably the best reply I've ever heard' date=' thanks for your response, I don't really want and unfill but from the replays of other people it seemed to be the popular vote, I'm going to start out measuring my food for a while until I get a handle on things, from what my dr said with the last visit is that my band is on the tighter side of the scale[/quote']

Im glad someone was able to explain it to you in a way that was best for you. B52 has a great way with words and is very motivational. Im so glad you are going to keep trying. I was worried from your responses that you were to the quiting stage. Goodluck to you!!

  5. It's nice to have someone notice, but compliments are sometimes hard to take. It's like, oh no someone is looking at me. Now that I've been here awhile, it's getting better because everyone and me is getting used to the new me.

I had a love hate relationship with compliments ( if that makes sense)

  6. Every once in awhile I will put what I eat in MFP, and see where I am at. Im usually still around 1200 calories. I know there are some days that I eat more. But I usually just go off my scale. If I see myself going up a couple of pounds, I go really easy the next couple of days. This has worked for over nine months now, so I will stick with this and see how it works for me...

  7. Watery foods are not recommended by the doctors. My surgeon has stressed dry solid food is what the band is meant to work with' date=' But yes Cookies and stuff like that does go down no problem but chicken and meat is very hard , I can't explain it myself..... Protein shakes, yogurt, oat meal are ok but there again it's liquid........ My wife had gastric bypass so I know all the ins and outs of that, and I also wouldn't recommend that surgery[/quote']

I did the solid Protein during my weight loss months, but now that I am on maintenance, I don't choose to do the solid protein all the time. But I do still maintain a low calorie diet and eat healthier choices than I did in the past. But to get to the maintenance you do have to follow the band rules, which is solid protein and keep your calories low.

Im so sorry that you can't find a spot with your fills to get you to the point where you can eat the right food to help u lose the weight. I know this might not be what you want to hear and it's a tough way to go thru life, but you might want to mush up your protein so that you can get it down. At least to get you to a point where you are losing again. I wish there was a miracle advise I could give you!!

  8. Once you've started your journey and been at it awhile, you will understand the thinking we are trying to explain here. Most of the successful bandsters have gotten to the point where food is not a priority anymore. We don't worry about the food we are missing out on. Most of us are very content to try a little bite of something that we really want and be done with it.

We have have accustomed ourselves to listen to our bands and don't over indulge anymore. That is the one thing that you have to train yourself to do in those 5 months before you go on your trip, so you can use those skills while you are there to continue your journey.

  9. My father has made comments a little like that in the past. Right now I am the apple of his eye because I am again slender... But I still remember the comments and still makes about my niece and step sister. The only thing weight can change in a person is there health and appearance. They are still going to be the same person on the inside... And even then you can still have health issues as a skinny person and be unattractive as a skinny person...

It's amazing how people think!!! Sorry you had to hear that and no you won't change him, so just take what he says in one ear and out the other!!

  10. Do you mean to say that you can eat cookies' date=' cake, ice cream, and chips (slider foods) but you cannot eat cottage cheese, watery fruits (melons grapes etc.), Soups, yogurts, cereal with milk, Protein shakes, because they do not digest decently?

Btw this post is not to sound critical, I just wanna understand why junk foods go down, but light healthy foods do not.[/quote']

I don't always eat like a typical bandster should, all Protein. But like you stated, I will eat soups, yogurts, Protein Shakes and such if I don't feel like struggling with hard protein. You don't have to live on bad slider foods, there are good slider foods also. Over 9 months on maintenance!!!

  11. I've been doing maintenance for about 9 months now. Like floridays, I am about 6 or so lbs from my original goal, but am happy where I am at.

I also weigh myself once or twice a day and eat around the scale. If I seen to eat more one day and it shows on the scale, I cut back for a couple of days. I am not the model bandster with my eating or exercise... But I don't eat very much anymore, I don't eat fast food, or pop anymore. Those things were my downfall, and I have cut those items from my life.

Good luck on your journey... You will be in maintenance before u know it...

  12. I have read some posts that could be viewed as very rude or too direct to say the least' date=' but I believe the overall goal of the rude posts were to treat people worth tough love. Some people can take it, some cannot. For those that cannot deal with it, maybe reach out to some of the nicer people and develop your own personal support system. It might help. For me, I read the posts every now and then.. If I have a question, I pose it. I will say this, sometimes responses are based on how the original posts read. Meaning, if the poster sets up a bad situation, do you really expect positivity? Anyone agreeing with you all the time is lying to you about something.[/quote']

This is very true. I think it does depend on how the original post is set up. I've reread some of my earlier posts and I had my share of tough love posts. Sorry, but they all can't be flowers and butterflies. They need some bees to succeed also...
