    The last supper syndrome

Hum! Its normal! Just scare yourself. I lost 50 pounds pre op and continued till the last week before surgery but then when my surgeon operated, he said my liver was really big! So that junk food i binged on the week before was bad afterall! Imagine if it was too big to put my lap band on.
  2. Well, my doctor doest require it and he is against it because he says it is too long for a person to stay on a low calorie diet because after the surgery he requires 3 weeks on full liquids. He says that if his patients did a pre op and a post op diet, they would gain when they start eating, and i agree. he is the surgeon who does the most lap band surgery in canada. However, he requires us to loose 10% of our exces weight, i ended up loosing 50 pounds. I was nervous, and i asked him before surery if i should go on liquids, he said that my weight loss would garanty a small liver. HOWEVER! The week before the surgery, i had a bit of junk food, i didnt gain, and when he operated, he was very surprise to see that my liver was still fatty. He said it is genetics, and it is true, in my familly we tend to have fatty livers. So if you do not loose much weight, try to diet before, like the last 2 weeks. Dont go on liquids, i am starting my second week om liquids ad it is absolutely horrible!! Id get on a strict diet just to be 100% certain he can operate on you, and im against diets:) . Good luck

    Whats going on?

The band is not succcessfull because it stops you from eating stuff! My worst nightmare would be that actually! I want to be able to eat everything! Id be so miserable without bread! What the band does is that it makes you feel full fast because the top pouch of your stomac is very small. When food touches the skin in your stomac, it hits the nerves that transmit to your brain that you are full. I am not explaining it well, but basically before, to feel full, you needed lots of food in your stomac, now you dont. To each their own, but i think your life would be much nicer if u listen to ur stomac instead of wanting a band to stop you from eating. Listen to your body, i swear it worka
  4. Thank you for your support! I didnt mean to scare anyone, surgery and the recovery is great, for me, the problem is that liquid diet. I cannot believe i have 5 weeks left before i eat solid food again, but i guess i just gotta try to block it off. I have anxiety now, thinking ill never eat again, but i know that in 5 weeks, or even in 2 weeks during the pureed stage, ill be able to taste good food again. I guess ill stop being a baby and ill suck it up, but gosh i havent been this cranky in forever! Ive read lots of old posts and i realised most of us go through this stage if our doctors are strict. Ill go dream about my sandwich:)
