  1. Even though you havent had the first fill arent you still somewhat restricted if only because of the band itself?
  2. Congratulations. Relax and heal. Post an update soon.
  3. Allison, you've had amazing success since being banded in July. What would you say have been your biggest challenges?
  4. Moma50, Yes, I did know the answer but desperately needed to hear variations of it from all of you and have it in writing so I can read and reread for the next 3 weks. Im beginning to over think and over analyze all this and talk myself out of it! Thank you!
  5. Jenn, you look great!!! Congratulations. Thank you everyone for your comments.
  6. I just posted this on the general board. Have any of you asked yourself this question? I could be getting cold feet as my April 2 date gets closer, maybe I'm looking for an excuse but now that I'm on the preop diet and making a serious attempt to lose weight, I'm losing weight. Im following all the rules, getting myself ready, i.e.: drinking tons of water, stepped up my exercising, dropped all carbs, no alcohol, concentrating on protein. So, the question I'm asking myself that Im sure you all asked yourselves: If I'm losing weight now can I do this without the band IF I continue following these rules which are the same rules I'd have to follow with the band? Those that asked yourself that question, went through with the surgery and can now look back....what are your thoughts on this?...thank you so much for your insight. ELCEE, B52 and Corrigan Im counting on you to reply!!!! : )
  7. I plan to .... I have my before pix taken and will post after when you can see a change.
  8. Good luck to you! You have a great attitude. PLEASE post soon and let us know how it went...

  10. A fellow lapband friend advised me to put the fork down after every bite, chew, chew, chew and then decide if you need the next bite...
  11. I love juicing! It's such a great and easy way to get those nutrients. Kale is a superfood and you cant even taste it juiced. When juicing a lot of greens you need to get an apple or carrot in there to mask the green taste. I did a 15 day juice fast and lost 20 lbs. i was on a detox/cleansing program. Im assuming you have watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead? What a great documentary! Try this one: 2 gala apples 2 carrots 5 kale leaves 6 strawberries Or this one Celery, rommaine, 5 kale leaves, 1 apple, 1 lemon, a smidgeon of ginger Happy Juicing!
  12. My psych exam consisted of two visits. The first was a 550 questionnaire exam. And the second was a 10 minute one on one with the Psychiatrist. I was so nervous, but they were both a breeze. The questionnaire was like: Have you ever enjoyed smashing bugs when you were a child Do you hate your father? Do you have an interest is forestry as a profession? The questions were bizarre but must mean something when they run it thru their analyzing machine. You could clearly see the pattern of questions and what they were after.... The visit with the Doc was nothing. She basically asked me the same questions they asked on the form they had me fillout when I checked in. All that worry for nothing!
  13. Oh, the joy of things to come ....
  14. Waitingpatiently - I didnt seem to get mine. I tried emailing you at above address but it bounced back... Can you please send again? Thank you!
  15. Waitingpatiently.......would you please send to me too? TY Glendalove54@gmail.com
  16. Stephanie, there is success written all throughout your post! Congratulations! You will continue to be a success and reach all your goals.
  17. How sweet! You are so welcome! What I know comes from following this site and researching the heck out of WLS. I've also been attending a support group for 12 months and have learned soooo much from that group. Im getting more and more nervous every day!
  18. You are all correct.... Same sentiments as my hubby. Thank you Elcee.....thank you xavier...your comment GET IN THE GAME hit home. Thank you hopetolose I will get in the game and focus only on success...
  19. I think this is what bothers me about getting the surgery (scheduled 4/2). Read this article on the stigma of obese people even AFTER they lose weight via WLS.....Inshouldnt worry so much about what others think and just make myself happy and healthy. http://www.healthcanal.com/life-style-fitness/27394-Losing-the-weight-but-not-the-stigma.html
  20. I havent had surgery yet but I would absolutely stay. It's only one day of your life and you will be monitored and taken care of. The trip home will likely be more comfortable as well.
  21. did you use any oinments or lotions to reduce incision scarring? if so, what worked for you?
  22. Ladies, if you havent already done so, join the Springers group on this site. It's for anyone with a Mar, April or May surgery date.
  23. Be sure to take measurements and a nice front/ side view "before" pix so you can post next to your svelte "after" pix......
  24. technically, I'm not yet on the 2 wk pre op diet, but doc did ask that I go on a high protein/no starch the month of March. Didnt think that would be so hard but I'm finding I cant comply! Im OK with no starch, sort of, but I'm just eating too much in general and continuing with my glass of wine. I know this is not good! Surgery is April 2, so I keep telling myself I have time before I get real serious. After a day of analysis and thougHt about this I've come to the conclusion that I'm very worried about doing this. Not just the surgery but the whole ball of wax...surgery, post op, new eating plan, getting stuck, putting a piece of plastic in me and knowing that when I'm 80 yrs old I will still have this thing in me! In other words, the same thoughts and emotions everyone has!!!
  25. I came to that same conclusion ElizabethAnne and I have decided to stop focusing so much on why I can't do it on my own and be thankful that I can get this tool and concentrate on working the tool to be successful this time. We must stop beating ourselves over the past and look to making the bandland future bright!
