  1. i have tried numerous Protein bars as my hub sees that it is his mission to find them..he found revolution Protein bars from Walmart that sells some awesome protein bars in a 6 pack box in many flavors...my fave is the chocolate peanut caramel and has 20 grams protein and reminds me of a snickers bar....i always have them in my purse or i my drawer at work for a snack or when i am out/about.....my friend AJ loves them....come to think of it' date=' walmart has all kinds/types of protein bars..may want to go and take a looksee there..hope you find one you like/enjoy :)[/quote']

Thanks so much for posting about Revolution protein bars. I bought some and tried one just now and it is great! I've never been able to find any that I liked with a good protein to calorie ratio until now. Thanks so much!

  2. That's awesome! I am in the same boat as you. I didn't see my doc for a year, due to the same reasons...school, young child, hectic life, etc. I have started again and am excited. Ready to progress on the path I've chosen and use my band to its fullest! Best of luck to you as you start over!!!!

  3. I am making these now. Cannot wait to try them. I used fat free cheddar cheese (same amount), a 3 ounce can of chicken, 1 egg, celery seeds (I don't like celery), and onion powder. Mine are going to be less than 60 calories each (probably because of the fat free cheese and less chicken ratio) and 8 grams of Protein.

Cannot wait to try variations...adding some sage to make it taste like chicken and dressing...some rotel to make it taste like Mexican chicken...broccoli (like someone mentioned)...the possibilities are endless.

THANK YOU!!!!!! This will help soooooo much. I appreciate your creativity and sharing.

  4. Congratulations on your May surgery! I am glad you have found Dr. Wellborn and his staff to be as wonderful as I have. There is a great deal of comfort in knowing the nurses and staff have been through everything you are going through. I have been so pleased with them and their care. good luck on your continued success!

  5. I used Dr. Wellborn and have been so pleased. Two of my friends used him before me and recommended him. My cousin is trying to get approved through his insurance and, when approved, will use Dr. Baker (because Dr. Wellborn doesn't take his insurance. I have heard good things about Dr. Baker.

I chose Dr. Wellborn because of recommendations, insurance, & because I LOVE the fact that everyone on his staff (with the exception of him and his wife) has been banded and they know what you are feeling from first hand knowledge.

Isn't it great that there are 2 well respected (& I'm sure more, but this thread only has mentioned two so far) bariatric surgeons in Little Rock with extensive lap band experience?! We are fortunate. Good luck on your decision. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

  6. Yes, ask your doctor. But, as for me, I have severe arthritis from an old car accident where I had a hip fracture. The pain us tough. I asked my surgeon about my prescription mobic/meloxicam (because Tylenol would not touch the pain) and he told me I could take 1 every other day. I choose to deal with the pain most days, but I may have 1 pill 1 time a week. I know it would be a lot better if I took it consistently every other day, but I, too, am scared of erosion, so that's why I hold off on the meds.

  7. Thank you soooo much for posting your newfound information. I, too, am sorry your band slipped, but am glad you got it fixed and am appreciative of your knowledge. Thanks, and keep us posted!

Oh, & I use the my band fill app and love it. It helps me keep track of my fill amounts, dates of fills, and progress. First thing I do is update it at the doctor's office at every fill.
