Hey Rosi, good luck on your weight loss journey.I have only told hubby and 1 friend, for me it's not so much that I worry about the critisim but it's more that I don't want the responsibility of being the local spokesperson for the band and I think that would happen. I think do what works best for you and what you can live with.:paranoid

Thanks Mandi and Loriely,I don't want to sound like a worry wart and the funny thing is I'm usually quite the opposite however I just kinda got a little freaked when I first read about the problems and got thinking about the worst case senario (me climbing over snowbanks for miles only to find the damn bridge closed yet again for high winds....then airports closed down and having to face the 30 hour wait in emerg to see a doctor.....snap**#^,ok vision gone)hehe...end of negetive thinking:rolleyes: .

OK guys just wondering if I'm over concerned but with Mandi and Loriely with emergency defils lately, and knowing there's noone trained in this province to do this should I be asking Dr.Cobourn in advance how to deal with that? Is it an outside chance that something happens or is it fairly probable(I'm always playing the odds).I would not rely on our local hospital to deal with it for many reasons, privacy being one.Regardless I really hope Loriely and Mandi are feeling lots better and back on track soon.

I wish I got full on smaller portions but my appitite is back with full force and I have been drinking alot of water trying to cope with it.I feel although I am at the mushy stage,I could eat anything.I wish I could be full on 1/4 cup of cream of wheat like you Doddie, but I could eat at least 11/2cups easily.:faint:

Exactly what Gaffer said! Dr.Cobourn calling and his accessiblity was the deciding factor for me:mobile_phone: -
Ok Becca so your being real that's all and I think if we did'nt have those days it would'nt be normal. We all obviously have the love/hate thing going on with food and if we could be cured of our head hunger some other way we would'nt have needed the surgery (there are days I wanted to chew something so bad I would have tried boot leather).I think we have to white knuckle through these rough patches in hopes that they get fewer and fewer until we find the "new normal", that others on this board have found. I also think this part is hard because for me anyways the scales are just not moving and I think the momentum of weight loss will also carry us through the rougher days when we just 2nd guess ourselves. When I'm in my OMG what have I done phase I try to look at some of the before and after pics on the forum or look at the tickers of some of the regulars here.I hope it helps to know that others have had days like your having (mine was Saturday) and I just keep counting days until the next excitng phase.......mmmmmm mushies! I hope this did'nt sound too Dr.Phillish! Good luck,

Wow,you can eat sandwiches,I thought those were likely gone for good.A week ago before the fill kicked in you say you could eat all that stuff, but not very much and very slow or like normal? I guess I'm just wondering how this whole restriction thing works...it's kinda confusing:confused:
-
Mandi, yes I plan to go to her for the fills, so much cheaper then trying to get to Toronto.
-
The Pictou area I think, I will be getting in touch with her in a month or so if everything goes as planned.

At what point is it ok to take this tape off the scars? They said it would just fall off, well it's been 9 days and it looks like it was just put on despite all the showers. Not that I want to show off this lovely tummy to anyone but it really is ugly so can I just go ahead and pull them off???
-
Great to have it done with Suzie Q and sounds like you got along well, every day you'll feel better then the last so hang tight.:clap2: :clap2:
-
Hey Mandi,so glad everything is getting better,so the nurse that's in Nova Scotia is willing to do weekends? That's good news to me if that's where you're going.
-
Susieq321,I know Bob Seger was at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto in late January,I did'nt see him but I would have loved to.

Hi Feb. bandsters, I'm into my 2nd week of liquids now and between soups and popsicles and runny liquid yougurt I figure I'm getting about 1000cal/day. Ok I figure I should be losing some weight at that but in the last 9 days I've gained a pound....go figure?I realize this is a healing time and not a weight reduction time but I just thought that maybe I at least would not gain. Is this happening to anyone else?:speechles
-
Hi Mandi,do you or Dr. Cobourn know what happened with the band? Where will you be going for the fill? To Nova Scotia? Hope your feeling stronger.

ohh Mandi this whole things sounds awful, for many reasons the first being it's your 100lb anniversary...NOT A GREAT WAY TO CELEBRATE THE MILESTONE! It sometimes worries me about being this far away from Toronto when stuff like this comes up.I still don't quite understand why a total defil, why not a partial? Hope things get figured out for you tomorrow because this can't be fun for you...keep us posted.
