    hair loss

My hair is coming out too, well breaking off is really what it is doing. I take biotin, b 12 and iron to help combat it and use really good shampoo and conditioner it seems to have slowed it but not stopped it. My pcp says it is a side effect of losing weight and it should stop, and to make sure to get enough vitamins and protein but it should stop. I hope so. I have read alot of people have this problem.

    Anyone Eat Just to Eat?

Well if you are twisted so am I!! I know exactly what you mean,I don't miss the full feeling, I miss the taste, and I get cravings and have to have whatever it is and then can only handle a bite or two. So we both may be twisted but at least we know we are not alone!

    91,100 for this surgery?

Let us know what you find out, I would be interested what the hospital had to say. Mine was 25,000 and I thought that was high! Good luck I know dealing with insurance companies can be a nightmare!

    Magic Bullet

I have one and love it, paid alot more than that though , you got a deal! I make tuna fish salad in it and it blends up real good and use it for dip with ritz crackers, make tartar sauce, make dressed egg yolks, I use mine all the time!

    Pre-op jitters...

I was scared too, to the point I wanted to leave the hospital the day of surgery ! I can laugh now but it wasn't funny then, I didn't have that much pain, more just uncomfortable, I was ready to go home. The next few days you are sore , she is totally right, and the gas pain in my shoulder was rough but walking around helped alot. But it was all worth it, it isn't gonna be easy but if you want to change your life, it is worth it.

    Hello from South Florida

I don't know about everyone I can only tell you about me , but I had reflux and when I had surgery my Dr found a hiatal hernia and fixed it, I no longer have it, so actually it helped me get rid of mine. But that is me, I guess everyone is different but it worked for me!

    Asthma and Recovery

The first week or so is the worst, it gets alot better, kinda hard to get around and that isnt good for asthma , but it will get better. Good luck on your journey, the biggest thing to remember is small bites and chew chew chew, after your first fill those will be words to live by. Keep your chin up you are going thru the roughest part, the next week or so will be rough but it is worth it.

    Asthma and Recovery

Well Denise, I have asthma and I didn't have any problems with mine after surgery. May be the weather though, this time of year always gives me a hard time, but check with your doc if it continues better to be safe than sorry.

Do you miss eating like you used to?

I miss the taste, there are alot of things I can't eat , most of them were my favorites, that kinda bites but you get used to it , food isnt your main concern anymore, you don't get enough of it for it to be. But then again you don't really mind because the hunger is gone too. I don't mean for it to sound really that easy it isnt but it is a life choice and you have to be ready for it.

    December Bandsters in March!

Hey fellow December bandsters, is anyone else losing alot of hair? I know it is supposed to be normal to lose some , but this is awful!! Thank goodness I have thick hair , but I would kinda like to keep it!! Any suggestions? Is there a liquid protein? The last fill keeps me from eating alot of anything, drinking as many shakes as I can stomach but it is horrible. Any advice would be welcomed , short of voodoo, hell voodoo welcome too!! Thanks!!

    December Bandsters in February!

I have a question for everybody, I am wondering if this is just happening to me. I was banded 12-26-06 but had been dieting a couple months before surgery and have lost almost 60 pounds, a lot in my face, now at work I get, are you eating enough? Your face looks so thin and I am worried if you are eating enough. I eat fine, too much in my book, doctor says I am fine, I just wonder if anyone else gets this or is it just me? They all know about the having surgery, I just wonder if anyone else has to hear this too?

    Newbie saying hello

Well Hi there, and welcome, I don't post much , but I have been banded since Dec 26 and I think the the pre Op diet was rough for me,lol. The surgery isn't bad the worst part being the gas being trapped and moving around the few days isn't going to be too fast but it not as bad as some expect. Just don't try to drink too fast and realize when you do eat chew everything till it is paste and take small bites, or it will feel like you swallowed a golf ball. But I would do it again tomorrow and the weight is coming off and thats what we do it for right? Good luck !!
