  1. Hi Calli,

Don't give up! I had surgery in March of 2011. I lost a total of 70 pounds and have just recently gained 30 of it back. I got really frustrated with everything that came with the lap band and just simply gave up. It's really great that you have been able to keep off the weight you have lost. I recently went back to the doctor to get a fill and I am back on this lap band journey. But it's like starting all over. I have to remember everything about eating all over again. So my message to you is NEVER give up! Even if you have to go to the doctor that is against it in order to get a fill go get your fill!! She doesn't have to like the idea but she does have to do the job you are paying her for. Go in get your fill and go about your business!! Wish you much success!

  2. I am officially 13 days post op! I too am afraid to vomit... But I have accepted that this is something that is going to happen one day. My first fill will not be until May 6 which is 5 weeks after being banded. The way I'm feeling right now is I need to get a fill so that I don't gain the weight back that I have already lost. When I feel hungry I'm quick to drive through a drive thru and make some really bad choices... So I can't wait to get that first fill so that I can eat to live instead of constantly thinking about what I'm going to eat!

  3. My sister was banded almost 2 years ago and she says you have to walk around a lot to ease the pain of something being stuck that won't come up. I hope this helps

Ok, my March buddies. I have a problemo. Before I tell you, YES I KNOW I TOTALLY DID SOMETHING STUPID. I know I did. :( :( :(

I have been totally committed and that's what sucks the most about this.

I am on liquids for 3 weeks post up. (3 days of clears and now full liquids) I was banded a week ago. I was on a strict preop diet beforehand. I've lost 20 pounds.

    OK now my problem.

Last night, in the middle of life with 3 kids and a husband (homework, dinner, baths, the daily teenager problems, etc.) I was distracted and picked up a handful of pita chips. (YES, OMG. WTF was I thinking??!?)

and I just started eating them like I used to eat! Fast, one right after the other.

Well, let me tell you. I obviously didn't make it through the whole handful. OMG. They sort of stuck in my throat and then I experienced TERRIBLE pain near my band.

I drank a bunch of Water, thought I was gonna throw up and then it ended up going through. I could FEEL it go through the band. It hurt and it was obviously tight.

I don't have a fill in my band, btw. (Realize band)

Today, I have some mild pain near my band. It feels like GAS pain again. Like I REALLY need to burp.

Do you guys think I totally screwed everything up??? I really just want this to be ok!! OMG! I have been trying SO hard, not giving in to head hunger, NOT giving in to regular hunger for THIS!??!?

    OMG.

  4. I started my pre-op diet on the 17th.... I am on strictly liquids...This liquid diet has been and up and down emotional rollercoster for me. The first 4 days went by and I was okay, but once I hit day 5 I strarted feeling really emotional (crying for no reason at all) I have no idea why... I am currently working and going to school full-time... I don't know if this has something to do with it or not. It could be that I am on the move constantly and only having liquids.... However, I wrote to encourage you guys to keep up the hard work I now have 7 more days to go... I'm half way there... now when I get hungry I drink Soup or a Protein Shake and the hunger pains go away. The way I kinda see it is I have eaten enough in my life time... it's time to take my life back.... I want to eat to live not live to eat... Be encouraged....God Bless you all March bansters!!!

Stephanie, I know that it is still just Protein shakes, but I have been adding some of the SF Jello powder to my shakes for some different flavors. There is also this great website that I found called "theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com" Shelly that runs the blog was a size 28 now a size 4 and she loves to cook. There are so many ideas there for every phase of our journey. Best of luck-I have my ice cream maker in the freezer now to make some Protein ice cream. YUM!!!
