Well, I'm on Day 3 of the Pre-op diet and the intense carb-withdrawal headaches are setting in. Aside from that, and the boredom of cottage cheese and yogurt, it's doable -- I just keep thinking of the bigger picture and the head start to weight loss. b_russel... how are you doing?
-
The clinic is lovely and everyone is very low key and nice. I'm only doing 1 week Pre-op so it should be manageable (I start tomorrow). After being reminded about carb-headaches, I began doing Protein this past week. I'm getting excited/nervous, but I've been finding peace reading Yoda and Chloe's posts. We'll trade 'post-op' stories. Best wishes!

Her name is Nisrine. She's lovely. I'm on Feb 1st Yasmina so I'll be thinking of you... when I'm not thinking of you making Perogies (it was YOU who said they made perogies, wasn't it?)

Yasmina: Are the 'Post-It Notes' for roughage? (Kidding). Hope you're doing ok. It's getting close.

Hey Sally... It's moi, "Pat"! Donna, great to meet you! Feel better my friends and let me know what happens at the seminar tonight! -
That would be great, thanks. I can't make it due to another commitment. I agree, what else is there to learn that we can't find out in here!

Drinking while eating poll

Loved your line about making the same noises as your coffeemaker!!! You're right the math doesn't work. -
I haven't had a chance to do a pre-op seminar. I have a mole in there checking things out for me, hopefully, taking notes. Are you on the Pre-op diet now? Getting nervous?
-
Let me begin by saying; "thank you" to Chloe and Yoda for being so supportive to us newbies. I don't post often, but I do read you and appreciate the advice. Yasmina, another bandster who couldn't eat cottage cheese was told that she could have a very small piece of chicken each day, which she had before bedtime. Check with your clinic though - don't listen to me or I'll have you scarfing down milkshakes instead! Good luck to the rest of us beginning the Pre-op diet. As Chloe said, the Day 3-4 wicked headache is carb withdrawal. Tough it out. We will prevail.

Hey blownaway... I'm having surgery on Feb 1, but I was told to get Boost Breezer (which I got a Nutrition House). It's high-protein and apparently takes the hunger away. Good luck! -
I'm getting ready to start Pre-op for my February 1 surgery. It's a nail biter!
-
Hi b_russell: I'll be thinking of you on Feb 1. What time is your surgery? I'm at 12:30 pm. I'm pretty excited too. Tres

Define tricks on the Protein Shakes... I need variety.:bored -
Hey Yoda!! I'd love to meet you sometime when we're at the TLBC 'filling station'. You're a hoot. You've done really well, and you're full of 'good news' stories. I can't read some of the posts by less than supportive bandsters right now. I'm too close to surgery. Do you live downtown or outside the City?

Hey Astrotoes et al Sorry it's taken me so long to post guys, but I've been eating my A$$ off (would that could happen!). I've been dieting for 35 years and since my decision to be banded I've been on a food-fest to places I wouldn't set foot in for years. In the last three weeks I've hit McDonalds twice (no I didn't Supersize), Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut; just to name a few; AND this was during Christmas. Bring on the Pre-op diet!! :help: Tres

Hi everyone: I'm new as well. Good luck to everyone on their journey. This is quite the adventure. I'm alrady doing the Gravol thing (nervous stomach), but I'm feeling a lot of relief knowing there are so many great online supporters. You guys are the best! Tres

Thanks Carlene... good to meet everyone. And just another gentle reminder to anyone investigating permanent makeup. Find someone reputable and check with some of their customers. Tres Chic

..and another thing, if I knew how to put up a picture and do a profile, I'd show you how it looks, but I'm new!

I've had my eyeliner done for 20 years. It has neither faded or shifted and I love it--it's a smokey blue/grey. The procedure was new when I did it and it cost a fortune but has paid for itself over years of enjoyment. I agree with Skye... "DO YOUR HOMEWORK"... It is, in fact, a tatoo and all artists are not created equal. Tres

Dori: How was your overall experience with TLBC? Can the person accompanying you on the date of surgery come into the Recovery Room? If so, how long after surgery can they see you? Everyone I've met at TLBC including staff and bandsters has been great. Congratulations on your success thus far. Tres

My pre-op is 1 week cottage cheese and yogurt in any quantity. "I think I can, I think I can..." Good luck everyone. Tres
-
Hi! I have chosen TLBC because of Dr. Joffe/Yau's combined experience, the fact that Dr. Joffe pioneered the procedure in Canada, but mainly because both surgeons are present during surgery.
-
Huber: Take care and keep us posted on how you're doing. Regards, Tres

Hi Gigi... I'm from Toronto and my surgery is Feb 1st. Best of luck on Monday!!! Only two more "big sleeps" until surgery! I'll be thinking of you and can't wait to hear how you are. All the best! Tres

Thanks for responding. This was my first post! My pre-op diet is cottage cheese and yogurt, but only one week. Best wishes for your surgery.
