I think we're ALL a little weird...

Purpose... as Sunshine said, and as my clinic says, "If you lose anything in the first six weeks, its a bonus". Be patient and feel better.

Drinking through a straw
Tres Chic replied to skinnyrebal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My thinking is that if straws are good enough for hospitals, they're good enough for me. I had virtually no gas pain so it's hard to say if the straws did the trick. -

Cutie... I can't imagine NOT being nervous, but try to relax. I'll tell you my story of how it feels, because it's one of the good ones. Surgery was a snap. I slept for the first two days. I had no gas pain which was a bonus. I was back to work in 6 days, but a little tired. I never thought I'd be looking forward to the "mushies" phase, but I'm getting kinda hungry. Good luck and tell your boss to chill. -
Hey Dame... you back with us yet??

Astrotoes: Welcome Home! The gas usually lasts a couple of days. Try to walk as much as possible. Some people swear by 'Gasx', but others say it does nothing. It does help not to lie down flat.. sleep on an incline (reclining chair handy?)... It's a whole new world out here! :kiss

Hey, don't leave us "February Bandsters" for the "April" crowd!!!

"Hernia repair" seems to be quite common with this surgery, and I'm getting the impression from these posts that the Hernia repair patients have a little harder time post-op. Things will get better!

Congratulations on your surgery date!!!! Let the eating begin!:hungry:

Cloe can probably get you a deal on a leg of lamb!

I lost nothing during the Pre-op diet, but have dropped 10 lbs since surgery a week ago so it's worth sticking to it. Good luck tomorrow. Tres -

-jello -consomme -protein drink -juice That's it for the first few days, and you won't want much more. Good luck. I'm finding the second phase a little harder and I'm hungrier. -

The shoulder pain is a result of the gas that they put in during surgery. It is common and normal, but you might get lucky and not have it. I had it with a previous gall bladder surgery but didn't have it with my banding. Keep a heating pad close by just in case. -
THANKS for the happy birthday wishes! Wish I could eat cake! xo Tres

I'm sure you'll do great.. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow... Tres:clap2:

I think I was told that you have to go back on fluids on fill days. Does anyone else have any info on that?
