    My brag list:
I've been with my husband for damn near 13 years, married for 7. I feel this is brag worthy because we both grew up in super tumultuous households yet we've made it work and grown together.
I've basically raised my bro since I was 7 and he was 4. He has Down syndrome, and said tumultuous household left us to fend for ourselves. My husband is great with him, and we come up with awesome stuff to do with him. Last year he was a guest artist on Inkmaster!
I make totally awesome soap as a hobby. I sell tons at craft shows, and people seek me out specifically now. Ego boost right there
    I finished my associates degree.
I've been at the same job for 8 years and I am often everyone's go to.
All of my pets are rescues, and two years ago I was able to volunteer at one of the forefront No Kill shelters.
I have fantastic lips and eyelashes!
I think I have a fantastic personality and a big heart.
I have it on my Facebook tagline thingy - I am a dreamer, passionate, creative, crazy pet mom, wife, sister, daughter and friend.
Not so brag worthy, I am neurotic. I have to plan everything out as far in advance as I possibly can, and I get anxious with spontaneity. Working on that for sure.
Not defining myself as "the fat one" in the group is going to be tough, though hopefully not as much so post surgery.

We talked about Patches for B12 and nut said docs are concerned that overweight patients don't absorb. Apparently there are studies based on other med patches. Biotin comes in chew on Amazon and is in capsules that could be put in smoothie.

I have enjoyed getting to know all of you better, thank you for sharing yourselves!
-I was born in Montana but raised in Richland, Wa. Moved back to Montana in 1997 after spending a year bumming around California(the best year of my life:-)
-I have never been married and have been "in love" only once.
-I have no children but did raise my younger brother so I kind of feel I was a parent once.
-My parents divorced about 25 years ago. They have never spoken to nor have they seen each other since.
-I have spent my life so far blending in well. I have never stood out in a crowd and have worked very hard at not being noticed. If I could do it all over again I would yell loud, laugh big, wear bright colors and speak my mind.
-I was an R.N. in my younger career and went back to school later in life for Political Science. I was accepted and set to join the Peace Corp in India in 1988 but had to drop out due to family illness.
-I have a progressive form of Osteoarthritis and am disabled now. With continued joint replacements and weight loss I hope to join the workforce again.
-I have a dark sense of humor.
-I love Independent films, documentaries, T.V. dramas on Netflix("Mad Men" and "Bloodline" are my favorite) and alternative music.
-My best friend is my beloved dog Emmy:-)
-This post was really hard for me to write!

The following is a made up of a few things...
    Truths...
    Half truths...
    Bullsh*t......
    Movie quotes/song lyrics..
(No, I'll not be telling you which are which..)
Now, this may seem odd to you...
But it's probably the most accurate reflection of myself that I'll ever post in a public forum...
    Ever!!
    - My real name is NOT KindaFamiliar
    - I was raised in the Jehovah's Witness religion but was kicked out at age 17. This resulted in me not speaking to any of my family for a number of years. That now means that I have little to no relationship with either my parents or siblings. In fact, late last year, after much mental debate, I changed my name. My middle name was my "father's" first name. It is not so any longer.
    - Chicks dig me - because I rarely wear underwear, and when I do, it's usually something unusual.
    - I successfully auditioned (3 callbacks) for a television show that never came to being. It was a panel/chat show and they wanted people who were "opinionated and outspoken". Weird, huh?
    - I believe in the soul, the c*ck, the p*ssy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high Fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days...
    - I love to sing. I even enjoy karaoke. I've won many competitions. The smallest prize was a $50 bar tab. The largest was $2500 cash. I've been fortunate enough to sing on stage with Jimmy Barnes (Aussie rock royalty) and also sing karaoke with the late Slim Dusty (Aussie country GOD).
    - I'm 47 years old next month and am STILL yet to decide what I wanna be when I grow up. I'm stuck between radio announcer and fire engine.
    - I've not lost weight for over four months. I've not gained weight either. I've fluctuated between 106 and 110 (kilograms) lost for that entire period. It's finally starting to get to me.
    - Some people play hard to get. I play hard to want. I'm really not for the faint hearted. But I'm well worth the effort.
    - I actually do like big butts. But at the same time, I can lie... I'm not. But I can.
    - Little horses make me smile. No, laugh. In fact, giggle like a child. It's not fake. It's a real giggle. And I love it.
    - I'm not yet 'proud' of my post-WLS achievements. I've not got 'there' yet. I will. I know it. And when I do, I'll 'proud' myself until I'm blistered and spent. But until then, I'm merely pleased.
    - I'm an excellent kisser.
    - I'm an avid anti-violence against women campaigner. I have stepped into various situations on occasions where I thought someone's actions were inappropriate. I will always do so.
    - On a related note, I've never had a black eye (despite being hit many, many times).
    - I've never left Australia... But I'm in the process of getting my passport.
    - I have some issues.
    - I truly don't believe that you can 'be anything you want to'... But I also believe that such logic shouldn't stop you trying if it's what you want to do. Go and do whatever you like. Don't worry about upsetting or hurting others. Just know that if you do, there may be consequences.
    - I recently donated 60 used (fat) polo shirts to a local shelter. Every one of them was black.
    - To me, there are very few things that say summer better than eating a fresh mango in the bathtub.
    - I unashamedly like Van Halen, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake et al.
    - I also like Sinatra, Pavarotti and the bagpipes.
    - I cry in 'The Green Mile'.
    - I will answer any question openly and honestly - but it's gotta be worded correctly.
    - I like me. I know my shortcomings. I know my strengths. I don't generally publicize either - but they're all there for everyone to see.
    - I'm aware that this post has wandered off track and I don't care.
    - Finally, I'm going to stalk someone's profile... You all know whose...
If you've got this far - WHAT THE ABSOLUTE F*CK IS WRONG WITH YOU???

Well, here goes, in no particular order, and I'm sure I've left things out:
(and of course the fact I'm posting means I got my homework for the hated class done--- yay!!)
I am an outgoing introvert. I am the youngest of 5 children. My oldest sibling is 19 years older than me. I was born in Texas, but grew up in Alaska. Spent 18 months in Hawaii before moving back to Texas at age 10. I have a really dark and dry/sarcastic sense of humor. I'd blame it on being a paramedic when I was a young adult, but to be honest I think I was born with it. Mom to a 19yo daughter in college - she plans to be a physician's assistant and work ER. Incidentally, I have her to thank for my boobs... I was an almost-B before I got preggers, and have been a very full D since. (Hoping they don't deflate too far with the WLS). She also inherited my snark, which is very likely the mother's curse in action. Step-mom to 4 kids ranging from 12 to 24, only the 12 year old lives close the rest are on the east coast. Married a year and a half to my 3rd hubby (3rd time's the charm) we've been together 3 years, and we met on OK Cupid but then found out we had overlapping circles of friends - but not in a way we'd have ever met. Weird, huh? Love cats, like dogs too. Have 2 cats and 2 dogs (all rescues, cats are tabbies, dogs are a pit bull mix and a blue heeler). Have an opinion on the Oxford comma, and am not afraid to share it. Have been called a grammar nazi. Was a cheerleader in Jr. High. Was a thespian in High School, couldn't stand cheerleaders. I hate cleaning. My house usually looks like frat boys live there. I don't really cook, but love baking. I typically put on 10 lbs during Christmas season. (That'll have to change...) Hobbies: knitting, spinning (Fiber, not bicycles), beading, reading (fantasy, romance, sci-fi), music (lovelovelove 80's hair bands and like anything else except opera and rap), TV and movies (sci-fi mainly but love binge watching Netflix and will put the History channel on in the background when studying or doing housework), and hanging out on the internet. Used to love Krav Maga, but had to quit when my knee had to be reconstructed. Don't know if any martial arts will be an option for me with my joint issues, maybe Tai Chi when I start getting more energy. Used to go to renaissance faires and made my own costuming, another thing that's fallen by the wayside as my health has gotten worse. Currently work in healthcare IT using my technical skills and my nursing experience. Jobs/careers I have had: data entry clerk, 7-11 clerk, database designer, medical technician, executive secretary, legal secretary, paramedic, 911 dispatcher, computer report writer, data warehouse analyst, nurse in ICU and ER. Majors I have declared: foreign language (though I don't speak any fluently beyond English), computer engineer, nursing (when I was 19 and again at 40), paralegal, business administration. (I finally finished an Assciate's in Nursing at age 42, then my Bachelor's in Nursing at 44, and am now in a graduate program for a Master's in Healthcare Informatics. Better late than never.) Loved emergency nursing, but had to leave bedside care when I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. What I wanted to be when I grew up: doctor, air force fighter pilot. Musical instruments I have played: piano, ukulele, trumpet, french horn, guitar. Am trying to pick up the uke again.

I think it's a fun thing to do, here is mine:
Married to my high school/college boyfriend for 20 years
I have two kids and my youngest saved our married
I can be very shy until I get to know you
I am extremely loyal, like help you bury the body in your back yard
I watch almost exclusively reality tv, it's a train wreck that I can't stop watching
I love to read but primarily read trashy romance/erotica books
I am a classically trained pianist
My "second job" is marching band as I am "parent A" for my daughters activities
I LOVE sharks and am going shark cage diving with great whites in July. I have seen Jaws probably 200 times
I hate to cook and WLS has reinforced not cooking since my meals consist of Snacks that my family doesn't consider meals
I love to workout, I crave the endorphins that I get from strength training.
I can do a forward bend with my forehead touching my thighs but I couldn't run a mile if you chased me
I have ADHD that I control with exercise and supplements
I have two rescue Chihauhaus; the first one I got as a support/grief dog after my Dad passed away
I have hiked 6 14ers and did those before WLS

I love this! I think it's really cool and really fun to think of who we are outside of WLS. It's a big part of our lives, but nowhere near all of who we are. Honestly, I think WLS has just helped me uncover more of who I am.
Shortly after I learned to write, I knew I wanted to be a writer when I grew up. I'm thankful I could turn it into a career.
I love my two rescue dogs like no other. I used to foster dogs and my oldest is a "foster fail."
Being in nature has always brought me a sense of peace.
I'm shy at first, but warm up quickly.
I can't remember not knowing how to swim. I love anything involving Water, but not boats. I get seasick easily.
I'm in no rush, but I look forward to having children one day.
My sense of humor is really dark and I like it that way. It helps me deal with some of life's harshest realities.
I'm terrible at keeping in touch with people, but I'm still thinking about them often.
I love to read, but I also probably watch more reality TV than I should.
I'm a decent driver, but I can't parallel park to save my life.
I value science above all else. It's the only way I can truly know anything.

I'm actually a pretty dull person, but here goes:
I love animals (yes, even cats) and would hoard them if given the chance. I have 3 Basset Hounds, 2 cats, and 2 grand Corgi's.
I volunteer at a local animal shelter walking dogs and doing adoptions.
I've been married for 27 years but we've been together for almost 30 years. That product of the marriage is 2 great kids who have grown up to be pretty darn decent humans, if I do say so myself.
Although I may seem like a big mouth, I can be quite shy and introverted sometimes.
I love anything to do with true crime and serial killers. Movies, books, TV shows, etc....One of my favorite books is about Ted Bundy. (EDIT: I don't CONDONE serial killers, I just find the concept fascinating)
I helped my parents breed, raise and show Arabian horses in my youth.
I graduated in a class of 16 people in a town of 1100 in Eastern Oregon.
At 45, I decided to change careers and have been fairly successful with it.
I'm honest to a fault sometimes.
I like big butts and I cannot lie. (Okay, just threw that one in there to see if you're paying attention)

I love the idea of this list - sometimes I feel that I obsess so much about what I eat and my weight that I am letting it define me. Thanks for putting together something that puts things in perspective!
Here's my (very shot) brag list -
I retired at 50 after 28 years of govt service (25 overseas), and went back to work full time two months later because I was bored. I hope to really retire within the next four or five years (my wife smiles and shakes her head when I say this).
I love to fish, especially in mangroves (I am passionate about Snook).
I've got three adult kids and in a two months I graduate to the next great stage in life - being a grandpa!
My wife and I have become internet shopping mavens - amazing the things and great prices you can find if you look for them!
I live by the motto that anything tastes better on a grill!
I have mastered the art of using home exercise equipment for everything but exercise!
I live in a place where driving is a contact sport - and I've become really good at it! The other side of this is that I get scared s***less of getting tickets when I have to drive in civilized places so I drive like a little old lady
I am a binge watching addict
Strolling with my wife is a past time I treasure
I have finally learned to slow down and enjoy life.
We are more than our WLS - it just takes some perspective to realize this!

I'm still new to this forum but thought I'd introduce myself.
I've tried and failed many different diets my whole life. Low carb and 2-3 hours of exercise a day works for me. I have PCOS, which makes it hard to KEEP the weight off.
In November 2013 I was 227lbs at 5'8", I had a 3 month old baby that I was EBF. I joined Instagram and began my journey. Again.
I followed many dieting accounts and many of those who had weight loss surgery. I never even thought of the surgery being a possibility for me as I hadn't had health insurance in over 10 years. I just enjoyed watching other journeys.
After many ups and downs and losing/gaining the same 20lbs I got down to 195 in January 2015. In February I started a new relationship, got down to 185lbs for a whole minute.
But then I wasn't working out for 2-3 hours a day anymore or following a strict low carb diet. I started gaining all the weight back. We got married in November and I was back at 225lbs.
Once we were married and I was put on his insurance (tricare prime) we decided maybe the surgery is an option for me. I am tired of yo-yo dieting. I don't want to spend the rest of my life counting carbs/calories/macros and working out daily for 2 hours just to MAINTAIN.
The hard part is qualifying for surgery. I am barely over 35bmi. I had no co-morbidities. My lab work came back great. The only thing I could hope for was having sleep apnea.
On May 16th I went to my primary and got a referral. June 1st I had my consult with the surgeon. June 2nd I did my sleep study. June 7th it was confirmed I HAVE SLEEP APNEA. Thank goodness. Plus it was so relieving to finally know why even after sleeping 8-10 hours a night and healthy eating I was always so tired.
I am waiting for my referrals to come back for the psych eval. I have appts for the success habits workshop, nutrition and exercise lecture. I need to go do my lab work as well but no appt needed for that.
During all this I am raising a 2 year old and back to being a "single" parent. My husband took a new job in Afghanistan and he's on a 90/30 rotation. I have no friends or family nearby and each appt I have to drive my kid to my Moms 2.5 hours away. It's not easy but I'm hoping for the best and trying to be optimistic in all this.
