  1. I'm getting sleeved on July 11th. they could have scheduled me for June 27th, but my wife could not get off of work that day or the day after so I pushed it back so she could be there with me. That's ok...I'd rather be a Firecracker than a Jewel anyway. Firecracker sounds much more manly
  2. Thanks for the support chilo. I like to think that I get my sense of humor from my dad who has a very dry and subtle wit about him. I'm with you on reading the status updates. I will usually only read a thread on the boards if the title intregues me. There is just too much to sort through on the boards. I guess that is one of the hard things about having the size membership that VST has. That is also why I really like the new Groups feature. Can't wait to see more and more people using that.
  3. I usually only reply if I have something funny to say... ok that wasn't funny.
  4. the French bougie dilator is the size. so you are a 36. I wonder it that is the size they always use.
  5. My wife and I are getting sleeved also. we are spreading ours out a little...Me first though. simply because I started the process with this surgeon first and I am farther along in the process than she is. She got her insurance approval today and I have my consult with the surgeon on Thursday. We have talked about doing them at the same time and even mentioned it to our surgeon and he agreed that spreading them out would be better. Good luck with your process...I hope it goes as well as ours did.
  6. http://www.ext.colos...dnut/09312.html
  7. You should have done that two weeks ago.  I'm having mine next weekend after I meet with Dr. O.
  8. That is so awsome...I can't wait to join the losers bench. I you guys know of anyone else from KY, invite them to join the group. I know there is more than 6 out there.
  9. I had to update my Internet explorer. I updated to ie 9 and it resolved my issues. If you are already using the latest version...I don't know what to tell you.
  10. Well I'm glad you finally made it in. I am going with Dr. Oldham in Louisville. Same group as Weiss. I have my consult with the surgeon on June 9th. I am hoping to be sleeved on June 27th.
  11. I am hoping to be sleeved on June 27th. I'm not too sure about the Jewel of June tag though. sounds kinda girly to me...Can I call it something different, please.
  12. Some one else is going to try using firefox. Idk if that will work or not.
  13. I wonder. Is this all surrounding one particular group or have you tried to join a couple different groups with the same result?
  14. I am having the same issue when trying to invite members to my group. Others have asked me to invite them because they are having the same problem trying to join my group as well. I was however able to send an invitation from my phone. I am going to try updating my browser and then try it from home. I would suggest maybe you try that as well.
  15. Wow. I can't imagIne going through this process and then surgery with out the support that I have. Since my wife is getting sleeved too, I don't get assanign comments like that. I am so lucky.
  16. so this is the sleeved in the bluegrass welcome thread. tell us a little about where you live and who is/has doing/done your surgery. Thanks for joining. I am having a little trouble with the invite link, as in it won't let me invite anybody and it won't let some people join either.
  17. I had a Nissen Fundoplication surgery to correct GERD and they are going to take that down and do the sleeve on me. If they are willing to reverse a surgery designed to correct reflux and then do the sleeve, why wouldn't they do the sleeve on someone that has reflux? Just doesn't seem right to me.
  18. You could try fitday.com
  19. Wow. My puberty was totally different than that lol. I just had the occasional spontaneous erection...ok so it was more than occasional. Lol
  20. Man am I glad I read the entire post and didn't just respond what I was thinkin from reading the title. That could have been embarrassing
  21. I have heard of people getting a black furry tongue from excessive use of mouth wash. Brushing is good but use mouth wash only as directed on the bottle. Sadly, I don't know what he did to get rid of it.
  22. I have a picture of me and my neice at her baby shower comparing bellies...mine was bigger.
  23. My insurance said that they required the 5 year history too. my surgeons office sent my packet in without it though and I got approved. I have heard of others doing the same thing. Keep your head up and don't give up. don't sit around and wait for things to happen to you though. you go out and make things happen. good luck and welcome to the VST
  24. Well... I was going to post something like "usually they do the sleeve surgery in the stomach area". But after reading the entire post that seams like a silly comment
