I am losing boobs too. First place I noted a loss was in my bra. I don't have much I can afford to lose!!
Bittersweet, thank you for that explanation. That helps a lot! My tummy is quite large, and I hate the lower hanging part.

I'm on soft foods now. I find I get fuller faster and hungrier sooner. Things that are helping are drinking part of a Protein Shake or I go through a lot of string cheese. Occasionally I'll have the whites of a hard boiled egg. Was reading that some people just become those who have to eat every two hours. Oh and a spoon of PB does wonders. Just saw my doc and everything is going great, so what I'm doing is allowing me to still be successful. Good luck!!!

My darn lower stomach. I am seeing the weight fall off all over my body just not there. I'm only a month out and need to be patient. I just hate my lower stomach!!!!

You guys are looking great! I'm just over a month post op. Have lost 49 lbs total. Losing weight all over my body except my damned lower stomach! !! I can't believe how flat everyone's stomach is. I'm 5'9" 260 lbs and age 37.

These are great ideas! Thank you!
What kind of peanut sauce do you use. That combination of turkey and peanut sauce sounds funky.

At the end of week 2 post op, I had the worst Constipation of my life. I was taking Benefiber regularly. My surgeon suggested I take Miralax, as Benefiber has a bulking effect. I've been right as rain ever since I switched.
-
So I transitioned to soft foods a few days ago. I fill up very quickly, but I notice that within two hours I am hungry. Not acid churning hungry, I am HUNGRY!!!
Typical?
I'm supposed to eat 3 meals per day of Protein or veggie/fruit with 1 or 2 Protein shakes a day. The Protein Shakes seem to help curb the hunger for a bit, but this is more hunger than I felt on liquid diets!!!

You would be amazed at the Constipation stories on here. Congrats! It's like we're toddlers again getting praised for pooping. Make Miralax your friend.

During this past week, week 3 post op, I've had troubles falling asleep. I seem very restless. I feel like my arms needs to be stretched and shaken out. I toss and I turn. I feel different pressure points hitting me on my mattress. I get up and walk around and stretch and shake my arms out. Tonight is really bad.
It's driving me crazy, and I'm exhausted in the mornings!

Today has been a good day. I am now able to realize the point when I should stop eating. I'm not always happy to stop eating, as my brain is used to me shoveling more into my mouth. However, it's nice to know when to stop.
I think I'm finally getting all my liquids in during the day. For awhile there I was worried about not peeing for about 10 hours at a time.
I've been able to move my bra hooks over 2 hooks!!!
And the biggest thing that makes me happy is my BMI has moved from the 40s to the 30s...the high 30s, but hey!!! I'm still happy about that.
Have my first party to go to tonight. It's going to be a small group who will notice I may not be eating the same. Trying to figure out what to take and how to handle it. It'll be ok, though.

I am 3 weeks post op and JUST this week I've finally been able to tell that it's time to stop eating. I've realized these few weeks that my head hunger was a bigger problem than I ever imagined. It's a battle, but I'm trying to be really good. I never felt full until a few days ago. All of a sudden, I can't finish my quarter cup of refried Beans. My acid production has kicked up, and I have heartburn. Very different than the first couple of weeks where I felt hungry all the time.
Good luck to you and hang in there!!!

I had better luck with Miralax than Benefiber. Doc says Benefiber can bulk you up. However, it took 3-4 days for miralax to work. Now I'm right as rain, going poo poo in the potty daily.
Had sleeve August 25. Down 9 lbs since day of surgery and 29 pounds since started Preop diet. I'm seeing the inches come off. Bad about exercising. I'm on my feet all day as a teacher and do quite a bit of walking across campus but want to start using that expensive treadmill I bought 2 years ago. Still on purees. Not exactly sure when I feel full. Brain isn't telling me to stop and don't want to eat to the point of pain. Head hunger has been a huge challenge. I am finding sugar free Popsicles help.

I did it! I swallowed them whole!!!! Oh my goodness! So much better. Still doing chewable vitamins and Calcium.< /p>

One thing I was really looking forward to with this sleeve was not feeling hungry. My husband wasn't hungry for MONTHS after his. I am on the pureed stage. I just ate 2 ounces of refried Beans and 2 ounces of melon. It's been like 30 minutes since I stopped eating, and I swear I still feel hungry!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Yes. I've started breaking them up into quarters, and it takes a long time to take them. I just set out the dish and as I walk by I take a pill.
I used to be able to take 3 large pills in one swig. Now even small pills sometimes get stuck in my throat. Is it all psychological?
Also, for those of you taking whole pills, are any of you taking extended release?

I am 12 days out. Haven't tried any sweets.
However, my hubby is 4 years out, and he has no problem with sweets. The only thing he has problems with is ice cream, particularly soft serve ice cream/custard/froyo. But sweets, yep, he eats them and enjoys them. He lost 100 lbs on sleeve.

Wow! Thanks for all the positive responses!!!! I feel so much better. I do take chewable vitamins and Calcium. It's my Effexor that is so gosh darn horrible...no matter what I mix it with.

in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Wow, it's been a long time since I've been on here. I'm 3 months post op and feeling great. I have my appointment tomorrow. I'm realizing I can pretty much eat anything I want, but I am dying for a salad!!! I don't know why, but salad and roughage scare me. They are off limits for now, but so are many other things I eat. I probably shouldn't eat anything I want, and I'm surprised at how well my stomach handles things.
Since I started this journey a year ago with my first (of many) pre-op appointments, I've lost 70 pounds. I lost 35 before surgery and 35 since surgery. I'm loving shopping for new clothes (although spending way too much money), and I love having more energy. I should be happy, but my weight loss has slowed down tremendously! I'm used to seeing the scale drop almost every day, and now a week or two will go by without one pound dropping off.
Am I done? This seems to have happened so fast!!! Was my weight melting off that quick and now I'm stuck? Am I just stalling?
Hope you are all enjoying the holidays and are having success in eating at all the get togethers.
