1.
My apologies....it seems the majority of people who have had issues with the band, goining weight back, etc, also have some sort of medical complication to go along with it...as you did...

Hope you get it all straightened out....

I have never needed to have my band unfilled....but from what I have read from others, is that you just have to start over from square one and work back to that good place....

This would be an awesome support group topic I think. How to come back from medical complications.

  2. I'm very interested in hearing what other people who have been completely unfilled told themselves to keep motivation without restriction. And what steps you took to keep losing weight. Sometimes it is the little thoughts and baby steps that make a huge difference. I'm stuck in my own head and it's not coming up with much right now so lend me your thoughts.

  3.
Just to understand what you're saying.....your band got tight, because you could not control your eating and gained 50 lbs....so then you had saline taken out...is that correct?

I won't comment until I get it straight....

Yes you have the just of it. I apologist I had planned on giving more information but the post was sent prematurely. I got the band and lost 80lbs in the first 8 months. I had a gym membership and worked out at least four times a week. Then I got sick for a few months and had a very traumatic experience with the hospital. They took my gallbladder out and when they went to take out the stones that were left inside me they refused to call my Lapband surgeon and did not believe I had a band. So while I was awake they shoved tubes down my throat, down my stomach and through my band which was filled to 7ccs. I thought that they were taking the stones out but they were just checking to see if I had a band and if they could fit through it to get the stones. I cried when it was over and the dr was pissed at me because I was crying. After that my band felt different. Possibly slipped. And I never came back from it. I lost hope.

  4. I had to get all of the saline removed from my band yesterday. (I had been extremely tight for the last three months. I thought my band was going to explode inside of me because if the pressure I felt yesterday. The band and pouch are fine luckily. I got so tight because I lost all motivation and gained back fifty lbs. I am slowly gaining motivation back but I'm still feeling very hopeless.) have any if

  5. So this is a bit different, but I was hoping you all might help me out with a school project. I am a grad student in my last semester for social work. We are looking into ways that people can initiate change in their lives just by spending a little time every day doing something that addresses a problem area. My problem area is my band. I originally lost 80lbs and gained back 50lbs while in school. What I am doing to initiate change is searching for new knowledge over the next couple days about the relationship between the band and spirituality (any form of spirituality). How does it affect you? How does it help you? What is the role of spirituality in this weight loss journey?

  6. I would really recommend having an extra blanket for yourself in that case :)

I am really looking forward to being able to do hard exercise. It might sound weird coming from a three hundred pound chick but I really like exercise and body building. I was a swimmer when I was a kid and they told me I had potential but that all went out the window. I want to be a bad ass again.

  7. I have only lost around 40 lbs but it drastically changed how I process alcohol which I figured out the really hard way the other night. I used to have very high tolerance for a lot of hard alcohol and every once in a blue moon I would drink quite a bit. I hadn't drank in many months and decided to try it. I only really remember the first few shots but after that things got pretty ugly. I was really sick to my stomach the next day but I was able to not throw up. I'm glad to hear it won't be the end of my band if I do throw up. But yea alcohol is out.

  8. OMG Dubstep!!! It's not for everybody but it gives me a harsh adrenaline rush. Some of my favorites:

    Lights - bassnectar remix

    Cinema- Skrillex remix

Fight facilities- crave you adventure club remix

In for the kill - Skrillex remix

    Bangarang -Skrillex

Don't knock it till you try it.

Some songs that aren't quite dubstep that are also awesome:

    Beauty beats - beats antique

Stayin alive - bee gees teddybears remix

Harder, better, faster, stronger - daft punk

Smashing the opponent - infected mushroom

    Heavyweight - infected mushroom

    Crystallize - Lindsey stirling

    Savior - rise against

Also anything by Ronald jenkees is awesome. :)

  9. So I haven't had a regular period in years and for most of that time they were nonexsistant. But now with my weight loss I started a very lite period oh about two months ago and now in the past three days it is out of control. I have never had cramps or back pain like this and never ever so heavy. I haven't dealt with this in years and it's kinda freaking me out. Is this something that happens often with the weight loss?

  10. My surgeon instructs everyone to start their day with a hot liquid every day to losen the band and wash through mucus. She said that for the people who don't like hot liquids in the morning she recomends that they drink a bit of the warm Water when they take a shower. Kinda different but what ever works...

  11. I am a very emotional eater and my satisfaction is based on how big of a portion I get to eat. I am not happy with just a little bit of food...I want a lot of food. Not because I'm hungry. I know I have to change my frame of mind about my portions and I'm not doing well with that right now. I eat way too much. For those of you who deal with this head hunger I would like to know what thinking process you use to try to get around it. What goes through your head at that moment when you are about to serve yourself and you want to serve yourself too much. How do you motivate yourself not to do it?

  12. I have not heard anything about surgeons not working with patients who were banded in Mexico so I'm not going to claim to be sure about that but I really can't imagine that they won't work with you. It seems like a decent amount of people are banded in Mexico and I don't imagine that would still continue if no one will work with them in the US. I would say keep trying to get into contact with them. The staff at my surgeons office suck! I have to hound them for results sometimes and I was banded in the US. Just be persistent and you will get what you need.
