  1. I'm so glad to see people back here! We do need to stick together. I am pretty satisfied with my overall weight loss since last November. Even though it's hard to get through the weeks when nothing changes at all, the big picture looks good. My band could probably use a teeny fill, but I worry that during my TOM when it always tightens up, that it would then be too tight. I'm self pay so I'm staying at this level for now, until it is really obvious that I need a fill.

I had a few major plateaus this year, but am moving in the right direction again. I actually weighed in last week at 199.0, but then TOM came and as always, my weight went back up like 3 pounds!!!! That is frustrating. It typically comes right back off after, but I hate the mind games. After summer vacation (1 month away from home), I started exercising consistently again. I'm doing the October 60-mile Challenge over at the Fitness/Exercise forum, last month I walked 65.6 miles. I know someone who lost all her excess weight without exercise, but it has been necessary to my weight loss. I certainly feel better and more energetic!

I am so glad I read this post. I have problems with my band EVERY month when it is TOM. I didn't know if it was just me or what. It feels like my band gets super tight during TOM and I end up throwing up more...I have been pretty happy with my results- I went from 286 to 185. But I hate the monthly times when band gets so tight.

  2. Hello- it is neat seeing all of these Nov 2010 banders in one spot! I was banded on Nov. 19th. I started at 286 and now weight 221. I turn 30 on April 18th and my goal was to be 220 by then...so, while I haven't reached that goal yet- I think there is hope that I will lose 1 lbs in the next couple of weeks!

I haven't read all of the posts in this thread yet, as there are lots, but I am glad I found it.

I am giong to the dr ( first visit with a new dr- one who is closer to my home) on Friday. I am going to ask her to remove a little Fluid from my band. I believe I am between 3-4cc. This past month has been miserable. I have thrown up more than I should have, some days I can eat something and the next day I can't. So- even though I don't want to have some Fluid removed...I think it might be the best thing to do. I am afraid of getting a slipped band- terrified actually!

When I first started, I was wearing size 26 clothes. I can fit into 18/20 clothes now...and wow- that feels great!!! Today to work I wore a pair of jeans that are size 21- and they kept falling off. Time to retire them I guess :)

  3. Hello! I just found this forum and I am looking forward to getting to spend some time reading about all you- or rather some, as there is a lot to read!

I had the Lap Band on Nov. 19, 2010 and so far have lost 45lbs.

I will have to add more later- out of time for right now.
