Question! Are you a big soda (soft drink) drinker. Of course they have lots of sugar and caffine in them. Did you go cold turkey and stop drinking them. If so that could be causing your headaches. If so try drinking a couple of sips of one until you can wing yourself completely off them and see if your headaches go away. I know I had to wing myself off of them cause I was getting headaches. Just a thought! Hope it helps.

HI! I'm having surgery Nov. 22 and I can use all the support I can get also. I would love for us to keep each other accountable! Feel free to contact me on lapband talk or we can have a private chat area on Facebook. I'm not tell everybody in the world that Im have surgery but most of my close friends know and are excited for me. So where are you From? I am very excited about having lapband surgery. I have done about 3 yrs. of research on it. I have been aprroved by my insurance and I start my Pre op diet Monday (Oct. 24) Good luck with your journey!

I agree with slim down donna do lots of research and educate your self. I have done 3 yrs. worth. I found lots of different ideas for pre op and post op diets and recipes. I read pros and cons and talk to others. I really like this Lap band talk where you can talk and get suggestions from others. The better your support system is I think the better you are motivated .

Don't give up with the process. It can be very frustrating with the waiting process. Make sure you get copies of all your weign in's. Thank goodness for me I did. The dr. office lost my file (record) and I would have had to start all over again with out those copies. I had to do a 6 month weight loss porgram for my insurance and then had to wait for their aprroval. But if you are determined and motivated to have this surgery and make it work the waiting is just part of it. I have been approved for surgery and my surgery date is Nov. 22 (although i will say hurry but Nov. you are not getting here fast enough.) Good luck with your process and keep us informed.

hi! I have not had surgery yet but I have heard that the shoulder pain is from the gas that is used to plow up in surgery. Hope you feel better soon. Good luck with your journey.

You can get the cool weight rulers or weight loss ticker at tickerfactory .com just follow the directions. Paste it in your Lapband talk signature area on your profile. As for Protein - My dr. want you to have a Protein Shake for Breakfast and lunch and as simple dinner with meat (chicken, beef or fish) which is where you get your protein and 2 vegs. Just make sure you do all your homework before going to Mexico. Call local Dr.'s about aftercare and I would already have one set up before I have my surgery. That way you can follow what that Dr. expects from you and to know how much protein intake they want you to have and answer your question. I made copies of alot of post op menus for lapband from just going to different lapband sights. Every Dr. is alittle different. The more research you do the better prepared you are. Good luck with your journey!

As long as you have grilled chicken or fish and maybe a vegetable you should be fine. Just order something that you know you can have on your diet. Check your portions and don't over eat. You know what your body will allow and your band. Good luck! And Happy Birthday!

OK! Thank you all for your comments. I have looked up the Eas and Premier Protein shakes, they have them at our Sams club. Im really picky about those drinks cause some of them just taste so YUCKY!!! The Slim fast and Carnation Instant was on my Dr. list. So I think I am going to try either the Eas or Premier. I have tried the Atkins shakes (can we say YUCK!) Please keep the list a comin. I like ready made stuff if possible. I'm a busy bee!!

Thanks for your suggestions. I'm really trying to get my grocery list together for pre-op and post-op. On my pre-op I can have 2 Protein Shakes (breakfast and Lunch) and a simple dinner meat , two vegs. or meat one veg. and fruit. So any suggestions on things let me know. I ve found some individual wrapped vegs. made by green giant in the freezer section that is really taste really good for my pre-op and they are on the point system for weight watchers. I'm not the best cook in the world. So I'm always on the look out.

My surgery is scheduled for Nov. 22, 2011. And my Dr. has me starting a pre-op diet on Oct. 24. It consist of Protein Shake for Breakfast and lunch. And a sensible dinner of meat (Chicken or fish) and 2 vegs. or 1 veg. and 1 fruit. And Water only to drink. (No breads, sodas, Pasta, potatoes) This is to shrink the liver before surgery. However I think every surgeon has differencies.

I'm a patient of Dr. Mora in Prattville. I love that fact that him and his staff are there to answer questions. Tara has been very patient with me and has worked with me to get my insurance approved. I am currently scheduled for surgery on November 22, 2011. I am soooooo excited, I can not wait.
WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?
