  1. Keep your head up and things can only get better with the band. I had surgery 12/30/10. So far I have lost 20lbs! I'm very excited! One thing that has helped me is I walk alot and I go to the gym 2's a day, in the morning before work and the afternoon after work. One thing that I have learned, you MUST eat alot of protein! I eat 80 grams a day in Protein in three meals with no snacking in between but I drink about 10-14 24oz glasses of Water per day. Remember no liquid calories either. Come on banders, you can do it!

  2. Hi, my name is Valerie and I am 50. I live in Bridgeport, TX. I was banded on August 13, 2010 and have lost 40 pounds. Got my 5th fill yesterday. I also was given samples of Bariatric Advantage shakes and Vitamins. I think I am in love! SO much better than the whey Protein shakes available at Wal-Mart and Target. Going to get more of those.

I am glad I got it. I feel better now and the weight is starting to come off very well.

    Would enjoy talking to you!

  4. I was starving at 4 wks, and was told this was normal. I lost 18 lbs. When I went for my first fiil they told me they took out 3 cc's of air and replaced it with saline. I then had another fill 2 wks later and am still hungry. Have had no reflux and can eat everything so far. But have also put on 6 lbs, am really discouraged. When I ask questions I never get the an exact answer. They say u have to eat just 1/2 a cup then the next time u can have 1000 calories. Can anyone pleased clarify this for me??? And is it normal to remain hingry??

  5. I'm 4 weeks out from my surgery (Dec. 27th). I noticed this weekend that I'm really starting to get an appetite. I was at a conference this weekend and wasn't allowed to bring in food. soooo looking for the most "mushie" food I could find, I found myself eating 3/4 of a tuna sandwich. I guess from reading everyone's posts here, I was surprised that I was able to eat the bread. I have lost only a few ounces this week . I was very spoiled by losing so much so fast.. now I seem to be slowing down. I also started doing some serious walking this last week. I don't know if I'm gaining muscle and it's out-weighing the fat loss, (or what)... ?? Does this mean I'm soon ready for a fill soon? I'm getting nervous that I'll hit a plateau. Other than my worrying about feeling hungry and not losing .... I'm feeling GREAT!!!

How are you all doing/did at 4 weeks out???

  6. I was just banded 12/03/10 and sometimes wonder as I have never experienced the reflux and am hungry. I initially lost 18lbs and then gained 6 back. It is stressful to me because I am told to eat just 1/2 a cup per meal and then told I can have 1000 cals a day. I feel lost because I cannot seem to get any straight answers from the doctor and staff and at times feel famished. My current fill is 3.0 cc's is this normal for some people? Need answers if anyone can help!!!

  7. Hello, Name is Kim, was banded Dec, 3, 2010. Lost 18 ilbs the first month, but then gained 6 of it back. Am really discouraged and feeling like I was rushed through this precedure without proper counseling or advice about this procedure. When I ask questions I can't seem to get straight answers from anyone. Is there anyone that has had the lapband for a while who could possible answer my questions and give me a bit of support??? Getting regrets that I had this done due to the poor support from the staff and doctors.
