  1. Just wanted to see if anyone is taking Celebrex post surgery, misspelled Celebrex previous poll........sorry Lori
  2. Hi, just wondering if anyone out there is or has taken Celebrex post surgery? My band date was 1/14/11 my doctor said that it is not safe to take Celebrex or any NSAID which can cause band erosion. My Rhumeatogist said that Celebrex is safer on the stomach that any other NSAID's over the counter or RX and taking with Nexium would make it safer. I have RA & Spinal Stenois, with 3 neck surgeries. Also have infusions of Remicade. Just wanted some input on what other people are doing. Thanks Lori
  3. Hey, just found this age appropriate site, I have RA and Spinal Stenos with 3 surgeries on my neck. My doc wanted me to go off Celebrex and I tried but my pain level really increased, my doctor said I could take it as long as I realize it could cause band erosion. Interesting your doctor told you to take it with Previacid. My Rhumatolgist indicated that taking Celebrex and Nexium together would really help prevent stomach problems also. As to all the meds you listed above I have been on all and recently started Remicade since the other two were no longer effective. Remicade has been helpful, started Nov./10 but unfortunately have had allot of recent falls so its not as effective has it had been prior to the falls. I found that both Humira & Enbrel to really help at first but like all meds at some point your body gets used to them and are no longer effective or you get worse. Wish you the best of luck...........Lori

  8. Wanted to see if anyone out there chews sugar free gum? Have read that bander's shouldn't chew gum due to the possibility of swallowing the gum and getting stuck in the stomach opening. Thanks

  11. Hi Greattobethin , I am some what a newbie, found your site and was reading all the post, which are great! I was banded on 1/14/11 have lost 28llbs very happy with the lap band so far and very eager to change my body/life. Was wondering if there is any set time for when you get your first fill. Noticed that I am really starting to get hungrier now, still in the liquid portion of post diet. Any advise you have would be greatly appreciated! Also noticed that a some time you lived in Delaware, that where I live now. It is really frustrating to forget to get the trash out on time......hopefully next week LOL.........Thanks Lori

  14. Hi Turbo Driver, I was banded on 1/14/11 and have not experencied either of your concerns. The pain in the shoulder sounds like possibly gass.............but since it has been several days since surgery, I would check with your doctor. And with regards to the sounds you are hearing while drinking, have no idea, sorry. Congradulations on walking 2miles, that is FANTASTIC! Wish you the best and hope you get answers to your questions.

  19. Hi Suzanne, I understand completely how you feel, I am 52 and have felt the same way you do for 15yrs. Have come to realize that I really needed help outside of dieting and exercising to reach my goals. Several of my doctors brought the Lap Band to my attention, I started researching attended the seminar and I was hooked. It is one week to the day since I had surgery. Have lost 25llbs. and so incredibly happy and looking forward to be much healthier me over the summer. Just a word of caution, the Lap Band is a tool, and everyone looses weight differently. Don't set yourself up for heartache if you are not 135llbs in one year, whatever weight you do loose will be heading you to wards your goal of being a happier and healthier you! You need to go with your heart and whats best for you!! Best of luck to you on Friday.........please keep us posted on how you are doing. Lori
