    Celebres

Hi, just wondering if anyone out there is or has taken Celebrex post surgery? My band date was 1/14/11 my doctor said that it is not safe to take Celebrex or any NSAID which can cause band erosion. My Rhumeatogist said that Celebrex is safer on the stomach that any other NSAID's over the counter or RX and taking with Nexium would make it safer. I have RA & Spinal Stenois, with 3 neck surgeries. Also have infusions of Remicade. Just wanted some input on what other people are doing. Thanks Lori
  5. Hi Ms. Mel,

Just read your old profile about taking NSAIDS, did you take Celebrex at any time? Hope you are doing well and have no more problems............Lori :)

    Arthritis meds after surgery

Hey, just found this age appropriate site, I have RA and Spinal Stenos with 3 surgeries on my neck. My doc wanted me to go off Celebrex and I tried but my pain level really increased, my doctor said I could take it as long as I realize it could cause band erosion. Interesting your doctor told you to take it with Previacid. My Rhumatolgist indicated that taking Celebrex and Nexium together would really help prevent stomach problems also. As to all the meds you listed above I have been on all and recently started Remicade since the other two were no longer effective. Remicade has been helpful, started Nov./10 but unfortunately have had allot of recent falls so its not as effective has it had been prior to the falls. I found that both Humira & Enbrel to really help at first but like all meds at some point your body gets used to them and are no longer effective or you get worse. Wish you the best of luck...........Lori

  11. Thanks for the update Barbara. From reading some of the post on fills, indicated that it would take a couple of weeks to get the full effect of a recent fill, so try not to get discouraged. Did your doc, tell you how much he put in with your fill? Keep up the good work and keep me posted on how you are doing. Lori :)

  12. Hi Barbara,

So sorry haven't gotten back to you sooner. Have been in a real slump, hungry all the time and over eating and very angry and upset about it. Feeling better and getting more control over eating, will have my first fill on 2/22. So glad you are feeling better, maybe we can compare notes after our fill appts. Take care and keep up the great work.........Lori :)

  15. Hi girlbythebeach,

Dr. Brebbia did my surgery at Milford on 1/14/11. Do you go to any of the support groups? I am planning to go Feb.2, hope to see you there! Take care and keep up the great work! Lori :)

  16. Hi Hvnsentbabs's ,

Jiust wanted to see how you are feeling, hope your shoulder pain has subsided. Take care and keep up the good work!

    Lori :)

  17. Doing well my surgery date was 1/14/11 have lost 28llbs. Feel really good, as I indicated in previous post, I am on solids and fortunately not having any problems. I was told since being on solids, would lose weight quicker, time will tell. Going to try some gentle exercising today. I have to keep reminding my self not to drink while eating, hopefully it will be automatic in time. Take care :)

  18. Hi,

I live in De. also in Camden. My surgeon was Dr. Brebbia, who did your surgery? How are you doing?

  19. Hi girlbythebeach,

I live in De. also in Camden, how are you doing? Lori

  20. So sorry that you are still having pain. Yesterday was my pre-op appt. doctor told me since I had ate chicken breast, really hungry, that I could start on solids and start exercising. I have had 3 spine surgeries so this one was easy for me in terms of pain and healing. I take Magnesium over 1000mg a day and it really helps with constipation. Give your self time and be gentle with your self!

  21. Hi Hvnsentbabs's ,

Thanks for adding me as a friend. I see that you are from Hartly De. Where did you have your surgery? I had mine in Milford Hospital with Dr. Breivia. Would be very interested in hearing your story.......... Lori):

    I'm here to help...

Hi Greattobethin , I am some what a newbie, found your site and was reading all the post, which are great! I was banded on 1/14/11 have lost 28llbs very happy with the lap band so far and very eager to change my body/life. Was wondering if there is any set time for when you get your first fill. Noticed that I am really starting to get hungrier now, still in the liquid portion of post diet. Any advise you have would be greatly appreciated! Also noticed that a some time you lived in Delaware, that where I live now. It is really frustrating to forget to get the trash out on time......hopefully next week LOL.........Thanks Lori

    Banded 1/18.....2 questions

Hi Turbo Driver, I was banded on 1/14/11 and have not experencied either of your concerns. The pain in the shoulder sounds like possibly gass.............but since it has been several days since surgery, I would check with your doctor. And with regards to the sounds you are hearing while drinking, have no idea, sorry. Congradulations on walking 2miles, that is FANTASTIC! Wish you the best and hope you get answers to your questions.
