  1. Hi! I was banded 12/1/2010 (I'm 15 months post op) with a 10cc band and currently have just over 7 cc's. To date I have lost 200+ pounds. I have had tremendous success with the lapband, it has given me my life back. To answer your last question, you CAN go back to your doctor years later. Hopefully with the better eating habbits you will become acustome to you will have no weight regain! But yes, you can always "start over" :) Hope that helps! Good luck on your journey.

  2. I'm not suggesting to eat 500-600 calories either! I would however like to know what she is eating. I just stated what I was getting and what my surgeon told me to do. I left out that I work(ed) out and walk 5 miles a day. I suggest she talks with her doctor and her nutritionalist about what her targeted calorie and Protein intake should be. I still do not see how she could possibly get that many calories eating 4 oz of food per meal. That's why I would like to know what she is eating to help me see what I could possibly add to my diet to help me maintain.

  3. Hi Amberakamom!

Welcome to Las vegas! I have been here 5 years. Dr. Soong is my surgeon. I do go to Dr. Umbach's office to purchase my shake mix since his office is closer to my house! :)

I was banded 12-01-2010. I have lost over 200 pounds in the 14 months since surgery. I finally feel in control of my life!

How did you know you had a leak? Any symptoms?

  4. Hi Jbean911,

I am 14 months post op. 1 cc is not uncommon for a first fill. What size band do you have? I am a little concerned about the amount of calories you are getting. 1000-1200 calories a day right now, 5 weeks post op seems to high to me. I struggle to get that now! What are you eating? My doctor instructed me to eat 4 oz. of food 3 times a day. This was broke down to 3 oz. of Protein and 1 oz. of anything else. I would use Isopure drinks to helps with my protein intake. I would get between 500-600 calories a day. You should stay full 4-5 hours after you eat. If I got hungry 2 hours or so after having my meal I would know it was time to schedule a fill. I have followed what my surgeon said to do completely. I am 14 months out and have lost over 200 pounds. I feel absolutely wonderful. I am trying to maintain now and am finding it difficult to get enough food to do that! Anyways, I hope this helps. Good luck on your journey!
