Hi Everyone.... I had the Respiratory Function Tests Today... i wasnt pre-warned that they would include arterial blood gases ( ie blood test from an artery in my wrist).... ouch!!!! Anyway after that i went and saw the physician... All is great, no more tests and i just have to wait until friday week (9th March) for the op :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

10 days to go :help: ... im getting nervous but then again... i cant wait !!!

Hi... I have a 6yo daughter who has additional needs and has just commenced first year at school. I have heard that Victoria has much better support for children. i know of others that have moved from QLD to Victoria for this reason. Tara has a great paediatrician here and i suggest that you do some homework and for his sake moving back to Melbourne could be a good idea. As for me.... Optifast hasnt been a great success . i was strong for a week but as the op gets closer ive been a bit naughty. Oh well... considering i didnt have to go on it at all, i think i was pretty good. I am going to go on it strictly for the whole week prior just to prepare myself for the liquid phase.... im getting myself prepared mentally at the moment. Im a bit scared but excited.

Karenb... yep the anaethitist that workds with Dr Nottle has a $600- fee that the patients pay pre-op. I really hope i get some back. I also am up for $2500- this week to the surgeon....

I cant wait to join you all.... 13 days to go and counting. I stood at the mailbox today with a envelope in my hand containing a cheque for the anaethitist. I stood there and paused and said to myself.... this is really going to happen now, no pulling out!!!

Hi Dionne.... happy your back even though youve joined that banded mob and left me to fend for myself.... ive got no friends:cry Anyway in 2 weeks time i'll be joining you. Ive been sitting here writing out cheques for various doctors etc.... im going to be broke.

This is co-incidental.. Im an RN also currently working at a large hospital 1 day a week. i agree that the MS thread was a gread idea. 2 weeks to go today until im banded

Hi Cleo and welcome... March will be here in no time. 2 weeks today and its my turn. Im getting nervous and excited.

2 weeks and 2 days to go for me and then i can join you all. Im going to go shopping today for all the things i'll need post banding. Im starting to get more nervous as each day goes bye........ i guess my main worry at this stage is the post-op pain. I remember the gas pain when i had my gallbladder out in 2000. I'd rather go through childbirth if i had the choice!!!

Hi all... i was just reading that Oprah recently had lapbanding. Wonder how many of the other celebrities have had it done??!! Im sure there are a lot that we dont know about.

Hi everyone.... all is well. ive been good today. $60- Susannah is cheaper than what i had to pay... i paid $80- for about 15 minutes getting told things that i knew. I was disappointed!!

well i think i still have the guilts about yesterday.... I couldnt sleep last night and for the first time i was having second thought about the op. I guess i just need to take some deep breaths and remind myself that this is the change i not only want but i really need.

I actually feel physicially ill. I guess 5 days on Optifast and then a massive 'pig out' wasnt very smart. I dont want to even think about food. Well ive learnt a valuable lesson..... stuffing myself has no rewards in the long run. Im going to stick to the pre-op 100%... ive only got 18 days left

:help: i was doing so well on Optifast and then.... about 1/2 an hour ago i binged on everything and anything not tied down. I now feel crap!!!! Im so disappointed with myself. I made it to day 5..... well i know what i have to do...... SCREAM. Seriously ive slipped up but tomorrow i'll be back on track... and i am 3kg down, hopefully i didnt wreck that.

Susannah... take it easy mate!!! remember im going to follow in your foot steps so please dont overdo the excersise as thats one thing im not going to do. Im tired just thinking about it.... slowly...

You will be just fine... you have to be i rely on susannah and im going to rely on you to give me inspiration. So.... get your butt in there tomorrow and then i can watch you do really well and lose the weight..... positive thinking is half the battle. We are all going to do this together. im not far behind you and many others will follow us in our journey.

well done Susannah... im so happy you were banded first as your setting a really good example for those that follow including myself.

When they say... its a whole new life change... it really is!!! and that even pre-banding. Im feeling okay today currently sitting here drinking my chocolate shake. I find the chocolate desserts make me feel rather ill. Soup im going to try later today. I really hope this motivation level lasts... This is basically the longest ive lasted on any diet without cheating. Couldnt do it without all of you!!!

My teeth have never been so clean.... im cleaning them every hour or so as my toilet breath is killing me.Hope toothpaste doesnt have too many calories . They tell me its a good thing when your breath smells due to burning fat ........ if thats the case im willing to put up with it.

Morning all.... day 4 of OPTIFAST about to commence and 2kg down. Ive been having trouble sleeping and im not sure if its because its hot or because of the OPTIFAST. Interested in knowing how others felt during the OPTIFAST stage. As for me: Day 1.... just a bit hungry Day 2... very hungry, headache, toilet breath Day 2.... Hungry and a bit week

Even though your leaving me to join those others already banded... I'll be thinking of you on monday and continuing to count the days when i will expect to get my own thread......... Take care
