mmmm... dont think one should worry at all about the actual operation. I think i'll be too scared to eat postop incase the food disagree's with me. Guess its a matter of try everything and see what happens. It really is a whole life change, isnt it??!! Oh well... it all going to be worth it ------------------------------------------------------------- yet to be banded 1st consult with Dr Nottle: 12/2/07 Dietician and Physician appointments: 14/2/07

Hello Chris and welcome to our friendly little group. Hey Virgin Susannah: we'll be experts in a few months time. Thanks to all for the food advise as im trying to fully prepare myself. A girl at work who decided to also get lapbanding done told me yesterday she's changed her mind yesterday. I thought she might as she didnt appear physchologically ready for change. She'll get to see me become thin and beautiful and then she may change her mind. As she said.. she doesnt see herself as being obese at 5'1 and 120kg. Some people just take longer than others to realize it and even longer to do something about it. 16 days until my initial appointment with Dr Nottle and i cant wait!!! 18 days until appointment with Dietician and Physician and i cant wait??? Dont know how many days to op but guess what??!! i cant wait!!! ---------------------------------------------------------- yet to be banded but obviously hanging out!!

Susannah... after this op, really consider going on medication for the MS. The needles arnt pleasant and after 5 years on them i still close my eyes when i have to jab. I havernt had an attack in that time.... its worth it. There are so many young people (like us!!) out there with MS and alot of them dont even know they have it until bang... major attack and its too late. We found out early and can and will lead a normal life but a little needle every second night may just be a major help. There is my lecture!!! My neurologist was more than happy to sign a referal for Lapbanding as he said its not healthy for one with or without a medical condition to be sitting in the obese range. Thanks for all your heights girls.... Well im off to work today so have a great Australia day..... Aussie Aussie Aussie!!!

How tall are you girls for interest sake?? As i said im 100kg ( okay!! give or take a couple depending if ive had a pig out day!!!) and 165cm. When i got married in 1994 i weighed 66kg and was a size 10. Id love to get back to that.........until descovering lap banding, that was just a dream and now it may actually come true.. Susannah: I have to have a brian MRI on Tuesday. My neurologists thinks it maybe a good idea since i havernt had one since 1997. Im not looking forward to it.... ---------------------------------------------------- yet to be banded 1st Consult with surgeon: 12/2/07 Dietician and Physician appointment: 14/2/07

Im sitting at 100kg and recently have had to buy size 20 clothes. I would like to get to 65kg but will be satisfied with 70kg. I have small wrists and ankles and the extra weight is really effecting my joints. 3 years ago i went on an unhealthy starvation diet and got to 77kg and i felt great and threw all my fat clothes away. Then... same old same old... the weight piled back on at a fast weight and ive got all these size 12 and 14 clothes that i hardly got the chance to wear. ---------------------------------------------- yet to be banded !st consult with surgeon: 12/2/07

I have no idea when i'll get an op date as my first consult isnt until 12/2 and then ive jumped the gun and booked myself in to see a dietician and a physician on 14/2. I had the blood tests last week with my local GP and will take the results with me. I'll fast on the 14/2 incase they want to do more or different blood tests. And i'll kick up a stink if i have to have sleep study tests.. so... saying all that.... if i sont have this done by mid- march at the latest i will scream!!!

haha... best you stay clear of the soup. Ive put on about 7kg since that photo was taken so my fave is now fuller (sounds better than fatter!!). Plus i had makeup on and thats something i dont do at present due to self esteem and basically a care factor of NIL. Hopefully that will change once im banded. Susannah... im 20 days younger than you therefore i think i should be banded 20 days after you... so im giving myself the date of 22/2/07. Wonder if the surgeon will agree to that!!!! mmmmmmmmm... maybe not.

Questions for everyone: After you were banded how fast was your weight loss ie how much in first 6 months and year. fee... i was actually joking about the boob job!!! then again maybe one day down the track i may consider it. I was trying to state... that a nice thin body and nicely shaped boobs get you a long way in life. Hopefully it will get me a long way :heh:

I'll show them... in a year or two... i'll apply again if a similar job is available using maybe my maiden name . Then i'll walk in thin and beautiful and have the pleasure of telling them where to go assuming i get the job. Im not overly upset... just proves that looks go a long way in this world. Maybe i'll get the boob job down the track!!

Thanks fee... had a feeling you'd be on line to answer that one. I just hope it all runs smoothly and in no time i have an op date. I actually went for a job yesterday for a pharmaceutical company and was told that i didnt fit the profile... why didnt they just say ' sorry, your fat!!". I know that was the reason. Ever see a fat sales rep..... oh no!! expecially when it was in the area of health. I did see the girl that did get the job......... tall, tanned and thin. :cry

From the time i rang and made the appointment to the time i see the surgeon on the 12/2 will be 7 weeks. I found out through this site that id need to see a dietician and physician so i rang the clinic back and they gave me the contact details for both so i rang and booked in for them on 14/2. I recently had blood tests and will take those results. if they require i have more i will take your advise and fast on that day, thanks. I dont know if i have to see a psychologist??!!! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...... ive got my fingers crossed that i dont have to have sleep study tests. Ive got a lower BMI 37 and ive had a laproscopic procedure before so lets hope. I hate waiting.............. i feel fatter than i ever have at the moment. There is a slim person in this body and i want to be introduced to her NOW!!!! I think we will be great friends

    Aussie Roll Call

I guess in a way food is similar to cigarettes... I gave up smoking 3 years ago and still occasionally think about them and even look around the house for one. Food... i most probably will look around and want it way after im banded but its just being strong enough to say... no!! and looking at the achievements made and those going to be made. ------------------------------------------------------- yet to be banded 1st consult: 12/2/07 Dr Nottle.
