  1. Hello everyone have you seen the Irish Mail on Sunday, someone definitely went to the papers. Have a funny feeling its going to backfire though I'd say Jerome wont be back to Belfast somehow. Someone complained about a nurse doing fills without the supervision of a surgeon and next thing we knew Lou wasnt doing fills anymore. They're treating us like kids if we speak out they take something off us.

Your dead right Holly123 we need legal advice. Someone said Citizens Advice give free legal advice so thats an option

  2. Hello everyone I think Marge and Roe are right. We need to make an appointment to see Helena but we need to meet up first to discuss it. I couldn't make the last meeting but will definitely be up for this meeting as I'm sure everyone else will. Things are getting very serious here with absolutely no-one in the country to look after us if we get in trouble. As someone said in a previous post Jerome will be in Belfast once a month to do fills but what about emergencies i.e. a slip or if someone is overfilled then what. As Laura said shes ok now but what about the future

  3. Hello everyone

I think I would be very angry and scared if I had been banded at ACS. At E10K all of you deserve better and while additional surgery may be difficult at the moment for ACS there is no reason why they should not be able to provide good after care. From what I gather from the posts here ACS have always been managed very badly with everyone (except perhaps Coco) getting angry and frustrated and not knowing what the future will bring.

I can understand that many of you don't want the world to know that you've been banded, but for the sake of your health and the fact that you paid E10 grand you have to act. If I were one of you I would be organising a meeting of all of you to meet and decide exactly what you want from ACS and write it down point for point.

I would write to the owner of ACS outlining exactly what your concerns are and what you want done about it. I would be asking for a meeting with her giving her a choice of 2 or 3 dates. If she doesn't answer, and I have a feeling she won't, I would then organise as many of you as possible ( the more the merrier) and all meet at the ACS offices determined to stay there until you meet her. But you all have to be committed and you have to be clear in what you want and stick to that.

I presume you all signed contracts with ACS. Let that be the basis for what you want.

Sitting around and hoping for the best isn't going to bring change.

    Marge

I totally agree with you Marge ACS think they have us where they want us, they know most of us have kept the operation a secret and they're convinced we'll all sit back and let them walk all over us .

I'm with you wella123 I think we should all land on their doorstep and see what they do.

As Coco said I'm not worried about fills for the minute I'm more concerned with long term care. What happens if we have an emergency what then:crying: Don't know if any of you saw Ireland AM (TV3) the other morning it was about cosmetic surgery - boob job, there was a surgeon on and he said the most important part of any operation is the aftercare. He said theres no point having a surgeon if he's not in the country when you need him and at the minute we don't even have a surgeon........never mind if he's in Ireland or not:cursing: So girls come out from behind your computers and start posting again and let us know what you all think:huh2:

  4. Hi 3na thanks for the advice. Glad you're feeling better you've had a tough time and hopefully its all uphill from here for you:thumbup:

I think your dead right, we're getting nowhere with ACS and we're all just sitting back letting them walk all over us:angry: They think we'll just sit back because most of us havent told many people about the operation. But I for one will go public against ACS if something isn't sorted out, whether I have to go the papers, a tv station or a solicitor. I paid 10,000 euro for this operation which included aftercare and the way we're being treated is a disgrace. Anytime I ring up I'm being told a different story, they won't even admit Jan has left:huh2:

People have stopped posting on this site, not sure why but presume its because ACS are reading it. They have us exactly where they want but I've had enough. I'm going to ring next week and demand aftercare or I'm going for legal advice about it. I can't believe people are actually travelling to Belfast for a fill I mean we paid to be treated in Dublin not 2 hours away:angry_smile:

  5. Hello everyone I haven't written before, still finding my away around this site, but have been following your thread for last few weeks. I too was banded by ACS and have had trouble trying to get a fill. It was great that everyone was writing how they got on when they rang ACS because we knew where we stood. I'm just wondering why no-one is posting lately. Haven't rang ACS yet this week so don't know what the latest is but will definitely ring next week. Hope your all doing well

    Jacqui

  6. Hi Coco we were posting at the same time so I missed yours, unfortunately I doubt I'll make this Saturday, I'm out on the raz with the girls Friday night so will more than likely be nursing a sore head:blink: but I totally agree with yourself and wella123 that we need to stand together as a group. I love this thread its great to get all our frustrations out here it feels alot better afterwards:rolleyes2: Hopefully ACS are in the process of sorting it all out

  7. Hello everyone, sorry to hear about your sister Paulina. I totally agree with wella123 and Coco we need to find out where we stand legally and then approach ACS as a group as Coco said they're telling us all a different story.

As I said in a preious post and Coco has said while fills are important I'd be more worried about emergency care, I know 1st hand what its like to need an emergency defill and it isn't pleasant:crying: I was overfilled a few months ago and I will never forget it as long as I live, you cannot swallow your own saliva without throwing up and the headaches from dehydration are unbelievable. I met another bander who I've become very close to in Owenstown and she didn't recognise me until I spoke I was that sick.

My main problem with ACS is that they're brushing us all off telling us different things instead of just being honest, if they've a problem getting a surgeon they should just tell us at least we'd know where we stand.

  8. Hi Terry I totally agree with you. We're just being fobbed off by ACS. Its bad enough that we're not able to get fills but I dread to think if any of us had an emergency what would happen. A & E don't want to know. I've been really worried about the aftercare for months but I can't believe its come to this:scared2: I wonder has Lou left altogether or is it like someone on the thread said that she cant do fills now without a surgeon here. I actually feel sorry for Lou because shes the only one we're meeting face to face and shes getting the brunt of it all, now I know shes being paid to do her job and all that but I think management should have to face upto us. Its impossible to speak to Debbie never mind Halina:angry:

Its a disgrace that we haven't been informed of whats going on. I think your right we should all ring the papers anonymously and tell them how we're being treated. Its great we have this thread because we can see the different stories everyone is being told when they ring up. Only thing is ACS are also reading it:huh2:

  9. Hi Princesslk sorry to hear your so down. I know how you feel its disgraceful the treatment we're getting from ACS after handing over all that money:mad2: I honestly don't think Jan is coming back and I think they're just saying that to shut us up. Its so frustrating and I'm sure your even more frustrated with your holiday coming up. Try to stay positive I know its hard. Hopefully we'll get sorted out with ACS soon.

  10. Hi Coco well done you thats fantastic:thumbup: I need a good kick up the arse:unsure: You must be delighted with yourself. I hear your a totally different woman now since I saw you last. Keep up the good work, there will be nothing left of you soon Love Lil xxx

  11. Hey Lil,

Great to see you posting, sorry I can't help you, I can't get any tax back as I don't pay any tax in Ireland. Although if I remember correctly I heard that they will put gastric surgery on the receipt and not mention the band. Terrific weight loss. Well done you. :tt2:

Thanks Coco. As you know I've been watching the posts but hadn't a clue how to post:blink: so decided to have a go. Its great theres so many Irish people on that have been banded by ACS at least we can see how everyone else is getting on. Fantastic weight loss yourself you've done brilliant, your putting me to shame I need a good kick to get me moving again:crying:

    Love Lil

  12. Hello everyone I've been following your thread for last few months. I was banded in ACS in early 2007 by Jerome. I'm just wondering what everyone put on their MED1 form about the surgery? Do I just put stomach surgery on it??? I'm going to send mine in now but I'm worried they'll look for a letter from my GP as I haven't told him I had the op:confused2:
