I have a hard time with bare minerals....I love the look but if I break a sweat it gets in my pores and my face starts itching horribly! A few of my friends have had the same problem. They say if you use a good moisturizer that shouldn't happen but it still happened to me :-(

If I were you I would look into a session with a professional to do your makeup for you and give you tips. There are colors that best compliment your eyes by their color, your skin tone, etc. It's also important to have someone tell you what will look best for your type of skin. Maybe a day spa? I had my makeup done at MAC once and I learned SO MUCH. Good luck!

I agree, the 6 months allows you to grasp what you are wanting to do and helps confirm you are willing to commit yourself to the band. It sucks trying be patient though....I totally understand.

They want proof that you have tried to lose weight under your doctors supervision for that amount of time. It's ridiculous and I lost 9lbs during my 6 months because I honestly didn't try......I knew if I lost too much I would be under a 40 BMI and I wouldn't get approved.

Keep your chin up! I spent 8 months doing everything to get approved only to be told I had to wait another 8 months! I was crushed as well and totally understand how you are feeling right now. My 8 months passed quickly and my time is finally here. Just waiting for the call to confirm it's approved and schedule a date! I hope your 6 months goes quick for you ( I know it will be here before you know it!) :-)

I'm waiting as well. My journey started back in October 2009....was supposed to have surgery May 2010 but my employer put the brakes on it due to a stipulation in coverage for WLS....I had to wait to resubmit Jan 2011. I had a follow up with my surgeon last Tuesday and I am just waiting for the call to let me know its approved and when I can set a date! I am confident it will be approved this time as I have met and exceeded every stinking requirement! Good luck :-)

Hi All, I'm Jackie and fairly new to the forum. I'm a 31 yr old mom to one awesome 4 year old and after careful consideration I chose the band. I was supposed to be banded back in May 2010, put my insurance put the brakes on it due to a ridiculous requirement that my employer won't budge around. Sooooo...fast forward to now, Jan 2011...I now meet all requirements and saw my surgeon yesterday for a follow up. They were putting everything back through for approval and I'm just playing the waiting game right now. I love to read everyone's stories on here because I feel it better educates me before I get my band strapped on! :-) so.....I'm really hoping I hear something this week. It only took them 2 days to tell me NO last time.

Well, had my follow up this morning...everything is going back through insurance and they will call me once they hear something. I'm praying this goes smooth and quick bc I've been waiting a long time...

It's nice to know we are surrounded by a group going through this life change process! :-)

I'm seeing Dr. Aguila in Tampa. I have a follow up with him tomorrow morning and they are resubmitting everything for approval and I will be waiting for a call to schedule everything. It takes about a week or less for the approval to come through. I was supposed to have surgery back in May BUT my employer put the brakes on it because of a small change I made with my health insurance back in 2005. Soooo....here I am in 2006 and I meet the "five years being insured under the healthcare" requirement BS.....I've been with my company 10 years.....blah blah....

I'm new here as well. Hoping to get my surgery date this week and get the show on the road. It's so nice to have others to talk to about our experiences and to gain knowledge from! Good luck with your journey!

I've been waiting for 2011 for insurance reasons and it's FINALLY here. I see my surgeon for a follow up Tuesday morning and they are resubmitting everything that day or Wednesday. I've been through the whole process for approval and everything was put on hold back in May 2010 bc the company I work for required 5 years CONSECUTIVE coverage under the health insurance......they didn't care that I've been employed there for 10 years! I changed insurance back in 2005 for like 3 months when I married my husband but went right back to my own coverage as soon as I could...but it wasn't effective until Jan 2006......SO here I am....the 5 year requirement is met, everything else is done. I'm so ready to get my tool strapped in and start changing my life for good! :-)

Hi everyone, My story in a nutshell is I started my process in October 2009 and everything is complete. I expected to have my surgery in May 2010 however my health insurance put up a road block to make me wait until January 2011. I have a follow up with my surgeon on January 4th and they will submit it back through insurance at that point and I should hear back within that week. I have no other road blocks they can put up so it should be a sure thing! I've been waiting and counting the days down until now and it's FINALLY HERE! I've been mentally prepared and managed to maintain my weight and drop 5 additional lbs since my last appointment in May. I've heard maintaining your goal weight is one of the hardest things after everything is said and done. I'm ready to get the show on the road!! :-)
