I'm having surgery on Sept 8th too. Good question! I wonder the same thing...I will be keeping an eye on this post for an answer. Your surgeon couldn't tell you the answer?

I was supposed to have surgery back in Feb, started the pre-op diet and made it through 4 days....hated every moment but also had some family issues arise so my surgery was put on the back burner. Now I am up and running again and hope to get a new date within a few weeks and I am totally DREADING the 2 week liquid only pre-op diet. Your post is encouraging! :-)

Just found out I have to re-do my psych eval and nutritional eval. Already scheduled the psych for tomorrow and nutritional will be next week! sweet! :-)

Ok, So I'm back.....was supposed to have surgery earlier this year but had to postpone due to my own indecision as well as some serious family issues. BUT.........I'm back and certain that this is what I want to do. Now just waiting for my surgeons office to call me back and confirm what I need to do to get the ball rolling on a surgery date. I am not sure if I will have to re-do my psych eval or anything yet...let's hope not! My out of pocket is going to be around 1000.00, I am wondering if I will have to pay that up front or if they will bill me!

Ok, they called....my insurance pays 90% but my maximum out of pocket is 1000.00 and the hospital will set up payments if needed. SWEET! Now I just wait to see if there is anything I need to re-do or if they can resumbit my stuff as is. I was scheduled to be banded in February...hasn't been THAT long but we shall see! :-)

Went to my surgeon's office today to weigh in and pick up my optifast. I start 5 shakes a day with clear liquids tomorrow. 2 weeks until surgery! I'm looking at the next two weeks as a kick in the pants and jump start to kick fats ass!

I didn't think I would have an issue but wow is my stomach growling! I have to focus and keep my eyes on the prize!

Your surgeon must be Dr. Aguila? I'm on the same thing......Wed was my first day and here I am up at 3something can't sleep bc of a horrible headache.....i'm drinking some low sodium broth to see if it will help but I'm feeling miserable. So, people who can actually eat.....be thankful....

I was surprised at how rough today was on me. I figured day 1 would be a breeze...maybe I will feel better about this after a few more days. I'm kinda scared of the weekend though!

Liquid liver shrinking diet day 1 is kicking my ass.....might have to take a pick of stomach fat for some visual motivation!

No veggies for me....I wish!!! Mine is all liquid...5 optifast shakes a day, at least 2 quarts of water and sugar free jello...........today is my first day and I pray for some results quick bc its going to be hard to keep this up otherwise!!

Day 1! I am on Optifast 800 as well....and my tummy is GROWLING!

Yes, after waiting almost 2 years for the whole approval process when I got the call with my actual date I instantly felt scared and like OH MY GOSH....I'm really doing this?! From what I've heard most people go through it. I took some before pics of myself and that confirmed every doubt I had in my mind lol

I think before photos will be good motivators for our weak moments.....or when we reach goal and think about hmm I can eat this or I can eat that.

Well, I was having the whole "cold feet" issue once I confirmed my surgery date and I start my liquid diet Wednesday so I had to get it over with.....I'm glad I did!

Yeah, I would stay away from the "mall" unless it's a high end makeup line where you actually have to MAKE an appointment. I've heard that Bobbi Brown is very good. Also, a lot of salons and day spa's have estheticians that are licensed and would probably be much more help than Suzy Q at the clinique counter. I love clinique as I use their make up but I always know what I need when I go there because they are never helpful when it comes to what's right for me. You could look in your area online and read reviews as well maybe?? :-)
