  1. I'm sorry,,I wasn't downing you. I did have a leak as well,,I was just trying to encourage you..sorry it didn't come off the way I meant it. You just said you were sneaking ice,,if your doctor says it's ok,,then by all means whatever makes you comfortable and is ok for you to do. I know how important it was to not have a single drop in my stomach while healing. I too was on tpn with a pic line and antiobiotics,,home healthcare..the whole bit so I do know what you are going through.
  2. I asked myself the same question but only what if I stay this big for much longer. I tried every diet..lost and gained over and over again. It was just worth the risk and I had complications,,still no regrets.
  3. The only thing I can offer is follow your doctors recommendations to a T..no sneaking ice either I know it's very difficult, but you have to tough it out to get well. I am SOOO sorry you are going through this! I was down for 2 months and I have children too. My husband was my saviour..I hope you have alot of support from home..they have it easy compared to what you are going through so don't feel bad for them..take their help.

    Ex smoker here and have one on occasion still. $8!!!??? I can't even imagine. Where do you buy them? Maybe cause I'm from Ky,,tobacco is a major cash crop here so you can get a pack for under $4.lol

    I should add that a couple months out for me was really about 3 1/2 months because I had a leak and I had to do liquids and mushies all over again.

    I was a couple months out and I incorporated them slowly..and cooked them till they were soft. You can add them to soups too. I couldn't eat a salad till I was about 3 months out and I chopped the lettuce till it was like slaw. The only thing I have a hard time tolerating now is milk and bread..not milk products..just milk..strange because I used to love it..would drink alot of it pre-surgery.

    It's not a good thing if you are filling up on the wrong foods. You want to get your protein in first, veggies,,fruit then healthy carbs. I know..you would think it would be a good thing to get filled up fast..they make pills that supposedly help do this.lol

    Some things you think you'll need, you might not. I wouldn't over pack. I wanted my pillow from home so I took that. I took a gown but they wanted me to wear the hospital gowns so never used it. I took a change of under clothes and clothes to wear home. Here's a list of things you might need: Tooth Paste and tooth brush Body Wash Lotion Deodorant Mouthwash Hair Brush House slippers Chap Stick Gas x Phone and charger MP3 player or laptop..something to occupy your time Magazines or crossword puzzles If you use a cpap,,don't forget it

    I don't eat many sandwich type foods anymore. I eat just about everything in the form of a wrap by using leafy green veggies like romaine lettuce or on occasion a whole wheat tortilla. If you do eat bread, try to keep it whole wheat but any bread eats up daily allowance for carbs and it feels your stomach up fast.

  21. We posted at the same time so I didn't see your last response. If you are feeling exhausted,,you may have a deficiency and I'd call my dr and have that checked out..just a thought. That would bring me down too,,I hate fatigue. I hope you feel better real soon so you can enjoy your triumphs!
  22. You lucky girl..your ticker shows you in ONEderland,,why would you want to go back to the 200's? Is there anything positive that you can think of that you are experiencing that could help you overcome the feelings you are having? I had moments where I asked myself,,why did you do this and I would never really answer that question,,I just did it in a poor pitiful me attitude. So I started answering myself..I did this so my son can wrap his arms around me, so I could breathe when I lay on my back at night, so I could visit stores I never stepped foot in because i was too fat..so I would stop hiding from everyone and everything. I want to do things that I always wanted to do, go places I've never been. Ask yourself and just keep looking toward that light..you can do this.

    A Gnawing Feeling

    Whenever I've gotten that feeling,,it's been due to several reasons..eating too much, eating too fast, taking too big of a bite or not chewing it good enough. I'd get this gurgly feeling in my stomach and stuck feeling in my throat that would make me want to throw up.
